I had to use something earlier in my pregnancy and my dr told me to only use monistat 7, dont use the stronger ones they make for only a day or so of treatment.

I've only had a yeast infection one time & it was during this pregnancy, monistat actually didn't help me & I had to go a week suffering from it waiting for the doctors results just to find out it was actually a yeast infection which is what he thought it was but they couldn't give me anything until the results, either way I got monistat 7 & it didn't help me, but everyone is different. I just used ice packs until I got a prescription.

I suggest you go to the doctor and confirm if it's a yeast infection or not. If you treat yourself for yeast infection and have a bacterial vaginosis instead, you will only make it worse.

I went to my doctor and she told me monistat was on the safe list and that I did indeed have a yeast infection!

I was on antibiotics for a sinus infection and the doc told me that it might bring on a yeast infection...and of course, it did. :( He did tell me that Monistat was ok during pregnancy..I guess I just wanna know if it's really ok.. Thanks!

Yes antibiotics always give me a yeast infection. I forgot to ask myself today I had a root canal and I'm on amoxicllin. Does anyone know if diflucan is safe to take during pregnancy? Creams haven't worked in a long time for me.

Possible thrush? It's safe to use treatment during pregnancy, just be sure to check with the pharmacist. I am 6+ weeks and have just been diagnosed with this. I know how intensely itchy it is.

I also have a yeast infection and all of the over the counter medicine is not safe. Ask your doctor for a safe prescription. I was going to use an over the counter method and the pharmacist said it's not safe. Good luck!

Yea it mite be a yeast infection I just had the same problem ichy all the time but talk to my doctor about it nd she already new what it was so they gave antibiotics for it.

Monistat or something similar is safe to take during pregnancy and if the baby is born vaginally while you have a yeast infection, he or she could end up with thrush in his mouth and that would be much trickier to get rid of. Unfortunately, yeast infections are just more likely to happen during pregnancy. I never had one in my life until I got pregnant and now I've had two! Both were diagnosed by my midwife and both times they told me to take the over the counter remedy.

I'm 32w5d & I developed my first yeast infection during pregnancy less than a week ago.. you can use the monistat, but I'd tried something similar to that before & it just didn't work for me.. my OB prescribed a 7-day treatment called "Terconazole" vaginal cream.. you insert an applicator full for 7 nights at bedtime, and it works miracles. I've also been using Vagisil for relief. tonight will be my 5th night, and I'm so relieved!!

I went to the ER for and ingrown toenail infection and the doctors put me on antibiotics safe for the baby, and now I have a yeast infection.. and I have a doctor's appointment Monday for the pap smear and all that jazz. My midwife gave me a prescription for a yeast infection its called terazol.. its a cream she says it works better then the pills..

I had a yeast infection with both pregnancies during my 1st trimester. Everything turned out fine with what the doctor prescribed me.
