It sounds like a yeast infection but you should see a doctor and get tested, especially if you've never had one before.

what I should have typed was that yeast products (Florastor) are live micro-orgamisms, but a yeast is not a bacterium (like accidophillus etc). You're right tho, they all fall under the probie category - but the studies Ive read seem to indicate a yeast product appears to survive the journey thru the gut, moreso than the others.
First try an over the counter yeast kit such as a 3 day yeast treatment like Monostat or one of the many products. If that doesn't work You will need to get a vaginal swab taken at your doctors office to find out what it is. It could be bacterial vaginosis or BV. It is pretty common to get BV as well. It can cause a discomfort, sometimes pelvic pain and discharge. It is caused by bacteria.
To be sure and on the safe side you should see a doctor to make sure it is a yeast infection. Unfortunately yeast infections have similar symptoms to many other things and you should be sure before treating it. Once you know there are plenty of over the counter products you can use like monistat. It's what I've used in the past. I know what you are going through and it is very uncomfortable! After a female touched her vagina then touched my penis and have me a hand job I had a bit of redness and dry cracked lines on the tip of my penis. I went to the doctor and they said it seems like I have a yeast infection so they gave me canistan cream and I've been using this for weeks now and the symptoms are not going away. Does anyone know why? Is it true that some yeast infections may need antibiotics if the cream are not working? Would be grateful if someone could help me. Thanks!
I have done a lot of internet research and I am still confused... I have been having recurrent yeast infections for the past 8 months (about once a month) and I noticed that the very first time I ever got it it was very painful and itchy, but as its progressed over the past 7 months, they have decreased in severity and intensity. I have one right now and its not very itchy at all, just the usual discharge which also isn't very much.
It might be a yeast infection. There are over-the-counter products you can use for one.
If ur docs/gyno are giving u medications for a yeast infection and its not going away, its most likely not a yeast infection. Its pointing more towards an std. Ive had bad yeast infections before where i was on over the counter meds for almost a month n finally went to gyno to get antibiotics and it knocked it out within a day. Those meds are extremely stong and should get rid of it within 2-3 days tops so if its not then it sounds more like and std than a yeast infectikn.
