yeast-infection

Avatar m tn This kind of sounds like a yeast infection. The hot wet shower is a perfect atmosphere for yeast to grow, and if your partner had some yeast or something you may have picked up a bit of it. Yeast tends to be warm and itchy and in females there can be a discharge, I don't know if there is one in males, it varies with different people. If you aren't seeing sores that is a good sign...
Avatar n tn Three weeks after the burning in the right side of the groin I broke out into what looked like a yeast infection and did not seem to be anything like a herpes rash - never an OB. The rash was on one side of the groin and onto the scrotum as well. The rash went away after a few days of lotrmin lotion. The rash was pretty much healed when the doctors looked at it and he thought it was jock itch. I still have a groin pain on the right side that seems more like a groin pull.
Avatar n tn On and off, I had to avoid sex with him because of the yeast infections. A week and a half ago, I was treated for a yeast infection. I felt that the symptoms were gone, but the doctor said she could still see that I had it, and gave me a prescription. Five days passed, and I had no symptoms. I thought it would alright to have sex. My boyfriend and I had sex, and things felt fine. Ten minutes passed afterwards, that I felt alright.
Avatar m tn 2) Based on these facts, do you still think this is a Yeast Infection? Is there an easy test or way to tell an STD from a Yeast Infection from an Allergic Reaction?
Avatar f tn Welcome to the forum. I'll try to help. The bottom line is that I am certain your symptoms are not due to any STD and are entirely unrelated to your husband's sexual indiscretion 4 years ago. Here are the several reasons why: First, you describe a low risk exposure. Condom-protected vaginal sex is of course very low risk, and oral sex is generally safe even without condoms -- not totally free of STD possibility, but much safer than unprotected vaginal or anal sex.
Avatar n tn They also took a urine sample and stated that I was infection free. Shortly thereafter my wife had a yeast infection and it seemed to transfer to me despite the use of a condom. I just want to add that I have had only protected sex with the exception of an occaisional insertion unprotected with my wife since the indescretion.
Avatar f tn See a doctor it could be a STD the symptoms from a yeast infection are the same as some STD I thought.
Avatar f tn A yeast infection just means that your body is a little off down there it's honestly not a big thing at all. Women get yeast infections all the time and half the time they don't even know it. Just do what your doc said you have nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn I have had, what I think is a yeast infection for about 3 weeks now. I have had it before. I think it is not an STD because me and my bf had sex months ago with no condom and he did not get anything, I would know he always sleeps naked. Now question, can a yeast infection appear 3 different places at once? It burnes, itches, gets red, swollen and white discharge appears. I am afraid that it might be something else. Please help.
Avatar f tn I feel like I may have contracted an STD and passed it on to my husband, but whatever symptoms we're experiencing don't match up to be the same STD. I feel like I may have chlamydia/gonorrhea, but it seems like he may have genital warts. Is it possible that we both just coincidentally got different infections that have nothing to do with an STD?? i.e I may have bacterial vaginosis and he may have harmless pimples/ulcers?
Avatar m tn ars symptoms come at 2-4 weeks post exposure and last for 1-2 weeks. your KNEE, WRIST, SHOULDER, and THROAT pain are not hiv related.
Avatar m tn Can some initial herpes infections have symptoms that are misdiagnosed as yeast? Yes, but it is rare. If a yeast infection has typical symptoms and is professionally diagnosed, almost always it was truly a yeast infection -- not herpes. And yeast infections commonly are associated with small, linear fissures. Such lesions can be a sign of herpes as well. But still, yeast if by far the most likely explanation of your problem.
Avatar m tn If this was Gono, 7 days after exposure you would have big time white discharge and urinating would be very painful. There would not be any question you had some real std. Yours are symptoms of NSU from mouth bacteria and or a fungus or yeast infection, But as the poster mentioned, testing is the only way to know.
Avatar m tn A week ago my doctor gave me doxycycline hydrate to fight off an infection that is causing me to have a itchy urethra. My doctor did not do a swap test or anything but thought i had a bacterial infection. Present day ( a week of the medication) I still feel the itchiness and am thinking that I have a yeast infection. I've heard eating yogurt can help fight it, but what about dairy free yogurt? Would eating one container of dairy free yogurt help?
Avatar n tn t look like a STD, but was yeast. Were not alarmed by discharge (implied could be related to yeast). They recommended no more testing. Still concerned I went to a STD specific clinic and they checked my urine for white blood cells and tested me again for C&G (4 weeks after exposure). All negative. Again did not think what I had "looked like" herpes or other STD. Started having pelvic pain/tightness/aching for about a week and a half.
Avatar m tn It might be a good idea. Also, sometimes taking antibiotics can cause a yeast infection, so when you see the doctor, be sure to be really clear about whether you have exactly the same symptoms or if they changed at all after taking all the meds.
Avatar m tn red patches come and go, but dont stick around for too long. I feel i have Herpes, or Yeast infection that is spreading throughout my body. Why the Burning on/off? since mid Dec ive taken 'Quikclear' natural remedy for Herpes (apparently suppose to eliminate it) Could this be holding it off? Dermatologist/Dr/std clinic think im ok and clear of anything.....except the tongue issues.
Avatar f tn You could have a yeast infection or a urinary tract infection. I was treated just last week for bacteria vaginosis. When I did have a UTI, it was painful and I really hated to go to the restroom bcuz of the intense pain. And when I had the yeast infection....I itched really bad. In both cases I thought my boyfriend had given me an std, but he hadn't.
Avatar m tn did not reflect any STD, becuase no STD (or any other infection) can start to cause symptoms 12 hours after exposure. 2-3 days is the minimum. In any case, the negative tests are valid. Syphilis was tested a little early, since it can take 6 weeks. But that's such a rare outcome in cases like yours that it isn't worth repeating that test. I don't know how to react to a "weak positive" gonorrhea test, which is a rare outcome with modern gonorrhea tests.
Avatar f tn I noticed the symptoms on my penis the day after the encounter with the female and I have been told that not any STD symptoms appear the next day? Would just like to add that the symptoms started off as redness and red dots on the penis tip then the penis started to become dry and cracked lines.
Avatar m tn Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?
