Yes I heard of that oral pill as well. I read that if the symptoms of the yeast infection aren't too bad then I could stick it out and wait for it to clear up on it's own. I think I may do that because I'm sick of doctors lol. Thanks so much!

It never fails every time I get put on to antibiotics I get a yeast infection. So as I'm about to start a round of penicillin I was wondering if there are any home remedies I can try as I'd rather avoid medicating that part of my body at the moment. I will of course eat yogurt and drink cranberry juice while I take them. However, that never really helps me prevent a yeast infection. So any ideas for after the fact?

I have been applying yogurt to the area once or twice a day and i tried a garlic paste but it stung super bad. I also took a hot bath with apple cider vinegar in the water last night. I guess my question is, is it normal for symptoms to come in intervals like mine have? Also any other treatments to suggest and do you guys think this is what i have? Hi! Usually when my patients give a similar description of symptoms, it turns out to be yeast, so Diflucan is a good medication to start with. If symptoms persist, I will often do a wet mount (look at the discharge under the microscope) a pH test (helps to distinguish yeast from bacterial infections (home tests can be purchased at your local drug store)
and sometimes a culture. I would usually rule out gonorrhea and chlamydia just as a routine part of my protocol too.

and the right nipple still looks crusted sometimes..and other times it doesnt. the obgyn said it was most likely the yeast infection the whole time (candiasis) and since it was untreated for so long it is chronic and its going to take some time for it to properly heal. does this sound normal? should i be concerned? ive never had any discharge, no rash..it is a little warm to the touch sometimes but thats about it...oh and the crusted whiteish looking right nipple.

Okay I know that we have all been asking just about the same questions but can someone answer mine? ve been diagnosed with bv, then a yeast infection, then another yeast infection, then both a yeast infection and bv at the same time, then another yeast infection. Dont wait... i did that before it got worst. Go to the ER or L&D tell them you have a very bad yeast infection. They'll do a pap to make sure its just that and not a UTI give u meds... and send u on your way.
