Avatar f tn I been having yeast infection on and off and haven't been treating it cause it only last a day or two. Now I have a yeast infection and it last over 2 days. I need to call my doctor tm sap.
1386448 tn?1280896286 I have several questions about the treatment of a yeast infection. I was prescribed diflucan to take two times within 5 days of each other. I did not have any symptoms of a yeast infection - other than I was having pain during sex, so therefore I refrained from intercourse with my boyfriend until I seen a doctor.
Avatar f tn Ive had a yeast infection with my son and my daughter. Yes antibiotics can throw off your PH balance so you could possibly have an infection. Any burning or discomfort should always be addressed with your OB to get proper treatment. In the meantine, drink only water and natural cranberry(no cocktail-too much sugar) and try to eat yogurt daily.
Avatar f tn Various reasons for recurrent or persistent fungal infection are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance , co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. Treatment resistance can be overcome by applying a cream with a combination of antifungals (Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1% and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%) and oral antifungals.
608005 tn?1234186146 I have never had a yeast infection so I don't really know how soon after having sex symptoms would appear. I also don't know that you can get a yeast infection from sex...maybe if he had sex with another girl that had one, I'm not sure though. I think that including the guys size and the fact that the sex was rough was relevant because those two factors could be contributing to the fact that you are sore and swollen.

Avatar f tn Yeast infection is a dangerous substance for women. I can tell that this is nothing matter because this affection will solve by the natural treatment. However, every woman should conscious about the yeast infection. Don’t be upset and take proper treatment.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, anti biotics are useless against 'yeast' infection. 'Yeast' is a fungus. Anti biotics are useful against 'bacterial' infections only. And the over use of anti biotics can lead to yeast infections as the anti biotics break down the body's own natural defenses. Your use of the word 'prone' makes me wonder if she has received too many anti biotics. I would suggest that you try to build up 'her' natural defense system.
1434838 tn?1285404132 you can get over the counter treatments if you are sure it is a yeast infection and if it happens frequently then you may need to see your gyno.. while you have the yeast infection though you should use condoms because you can pass it to your boyfriend which will in turned be passed back to you and just keep cycling.. a yeast infection though is nothing like AIDS it something that occurs to probably 80% or more of women at one point in their lives... no big deal!!!
Avatar n tn The most common symptom of a vaginal yeast infection is itching in the vaginal or vulvar area. Other symptoms of vaginal yeast infection and vulvitis include: burning, soreness, pain during intercourse and/or urination, and vaginal discharge. It would be best to see your gynecologist for further evaluation and management. Diagnosis is mainly through obtaining a specimen scraped from the affected area for microscopic analysis or for culture in the laboratory. Treatment may depend on the cause.
Avatar f tn I also have been in the same monogamous relationship for 6 years. In the past I had a severe yeast infection that I let go untreated and developed superficial fissures they went away in about a day. This is not like the last yeast infection I had but does it still sound like one? How long should I expect to have symptoms for. They are pretty mild but just uncomfortable and I am on my feet all day. Thanks!
730826 tn?1317943334 s husband had to go on a very restrictive diet in order to not take in anything that would feed the yeast. He hated it, but once the infection was gone, he was able to resume his regular diet. Natural medicine focuses on getting to the source of the problem. I would recommend seeing a naturopath in addition to making sure you go back to see your regular doctor. What the previous post recommended is right, too. It's just natural medicine goes a bit further.
689528 tn?1364135841 if you are truly hesitant about using prescription medications you could try the natural treatment option. get a big, overnight pad and just slap a bunch of active, natural yogourt on! its messy but with a few applications can help reduce symptoms. good luck -- hope you feel better.
8545457 tn?1399249730 So as some of you know I have had bacterial vaginosis for the past four months and went thru treatment after treatment. My last treatment was oral antibiotics and it may have caused a yeast infection. I have been experiencing the most intense itching in my vaginal area than ever for a little over a week now. Kinda difficult not to scratch when it itch that bad.
Avatar f tn I have never heard of a yeast infection being linked to preterm labour, but I am not a Dr. either so I certainly don't know that for sure. I do know you shouldn't just ignore it, nor should you try to treat it yourself with an over the counter remedy. You should see your Dr. I don't know it this applied to yeast infections, but I do know that small issues can be bigger problems during pregnancy and your Dr. is the best person to diagnose and treat you appropriately.
Avatar f tn continuation of symptoms may call for a second round of treatment. Visit the doctor to make sure a yeast infection was the proper diagnosis. Yeast infections are normal occurrences in woman.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that the inflammation from a yeast infection take time to go away even if the yeast infection is gone? Should I have given myself more time to heal? I've never had this problem before because I have never had intercourse the day after final treatment. I have no idea what to do, should I just leave it alone and see if the inflammation goes down on it's own?
Avatar f tn feels like an intense itching, burning sensation, localized in your vagina or valve. this itching is not always present, but can get really bad, so bad you can hardly walk, let alone ride your bike to the pharmacy or doctor to get it treated. it looks like clumpy nasty white stuff. most medical descriptions compare the discharge to ricotta cheese, but it can range from thick and not clumpy to faintly yellow to thin and clear. smells like bread or beer.
Avatar m tn I understand your concern regarding this and if the symptoms persist, it is important that you inform your attending physician for proper evaluation. Treatment for fungal infection usually takes a couple of weeks. Additional tests may be indicated to determine the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn t quite cleared up. Try another round of OTC yeast infection treatment, like monistat 7-day, to see if it finally clears up. Sometimes two treatments is needed. Should some symptoms linger after that, make an appt. with your obgyn - the infection may need a stronger treatment than OTC. Finally, abstain from vaginal sexual intercourse during the treatment as your partner may return the infection to you. I hope you find relief soon.
7922758 tn?1396296070 A yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of natural vaginal flora. This can be prevented by making sure you are always dry, and the area gets air (such as sleeping with nothing on or wearing light cotton panties). During pregnancy though this increase in growth can be caused by hormones, or if you have diabetes (gestational or not) you are at an increased risk.
Avatar f tn I have been going through CFS symptoms for the past 18 months now and believe have a yeast infection. Anyone have ideas to treat yeast infection? I just started to use threelac but have not used it long enough to see the results. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn t believe people can have a low level systemic Candidas infection and present with symptoms. Natural medicine disagrees. Natural medicine approaches the issue by getting to the source of the problem. My friends husband had systemic Candidas and their naturopath had him on a restrictive diet to starve the yeast. He hated it, but the diet worked. There are herbs that can be used, too, but they really won't be effective without the right diet involved.
