You can get a bacterial infection from having sex with someone who has one or just from having poor hygiene in general. What type of bacterial infection do you mean?

Can my boyriend also have yeast infection? he has no symptoms.. but if he doesnt get treatment will he then pass it back to me when i am cured??

I guess that was a relief but still no answers and still have faint symptoms. I notice he itching in more places in my groin area now, in and on my penis as well as scrotum and under my scrotum. I think you can be sure your symptoms are from a very heavy yeast infection. You are either failing to get rid of it or something else is comprimising your immune system and causing it to reaccure. I hope you get a doctor like mine who really listens and is trying to figure out what is going on.

Well I have posted a topic a week or so ago regarding a recently diagnosis of a male yeast infection. The symptoms and scenarios matched according to my doctor. The specifically located white patch/redness on the tip of my penis has not subsided even after following the treatment directed for me to do. Diflucan x 1( recently have taken a second one to see if it changes anything) monstat x3 daily for 2 weeks, selsun blue x1 daily for 1 week, and acidopholus x1 daily for 2 weeks.

BUT,..MEN SHOW NO SYMPTOMS!!! so you and your partner both need to be treated for the yeast infection or it becomes like a ping-pong game,....you get treated but you just get itback again after having sex with your partner.

BV isn't an std but just passed the same way. Basically if you have the bacteria, your partner would pick it up from you and have it on him. Then reinfect you with that same bacteria. But it isn't an STD. :>) Typically the medication given isn't the same as for a yeast infection. Yeast is actually a fungal infection which is different than bacteria. With bacteria, the medication is a pill and does have things to know about when taking it.
