Ok. I Had a yeast infection about a month ago. Me and my partner had unprotected sex. I had discomfort at the begging and end. it's been almost a week and started having discomfort. That situation is very different than having a diagnosed yeast or fungal infection and then worrying whether it might be herpes. It almost never is. The symptoms and exam findings of herpes and fungal/yeast infections generally are very different from one another and easily distinguished by experienced examiners.

She did a swab test and I will hear back in 10 days, but she also gave me meds for a yeast infection as well as herpes. I took the pill she gave for the yeast infection and got monistat and have put cream on it and any pain I have had has gone away within the last 24 hours. I know the sores are still there, but they are smaller. Am I right to assume that a combo of all of the above has just lead to the most painful yeast infection ever?
Thanks for responding. My provider thought it just looked like dry skin and since I told her i think i may have irritated it from shaving she thought it was from that. She only saw it when it was a red patch not when it was peeling. I'm not sure if she tested for yeast or bacterial infections but I know she did do a pap smear. I'm not sure if i ever had a yeast infection so i'm not familiar with the symptoms of one. However my pubic area did feel itchy.
Since then it seems like I have a constant vaginal infection. There aren't any sores but I've had cuts and constant irritation. I've had the cuts before and tested negative for herpes. I've had fevers that lasted a day and went away.
Now I'm having skin sensitivity. Last week it was my arms. I felt sunburned. This week it's my legs that feel sunburned. I know I need to be tested again but I'm so scared.
