Thanks for the reply. They did do a culture but said it would be a few days before they got it back. I did have a scan of my abdomen and it showed minimal sludge in my galbladder, everything else looked okay. I'm pretty sure I have a yeast infection but still waiting to see if there's any other type of infection. No nausea or vomiting. Would a yeast infection cause a high temp. or is that unlikely?
3 days later, I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with a yeast infection. 14 days later I had symptoms again and went to the doctor again. He said I still had a yeast infection and gave me more medicine. My symptoms never went completely away and now I have some burning again. I have had no bumps but I have one spot that is still red and irritated. Could this be herpes or some other infection? Is this too long a timeline?

Firstly, thanks to those who are offering advice and input on this forum.
I'm a 43 year old male, no prior STD history. In good health overall with a long history of being safe with sex.
About 6 days ago I had what amounted to single sexual encounter with a female whom I'd met a day before. We used condoms, and both communicated that we each had no std's. However, a condom tore, and about half of this encounter was unsafe.
Starting mid Sept I started having pain during intercourse and experiencing symptoms consistent with yeast or bacterial infection, like burning, itching, irritation, and discharge. This prompted my partner to get retested at which point he was positive for hsv2.
Our last contact was Oct 7. He tested positive a week later and I promptly was tested a week after that. So two weeks after our last physical contact. My tests were all negative.
A couple nights ago I started w/ a sore throat (last possible exposure was w/ my exb/f on 1/26...he is a straight black male, non iv drug user...but he cheated and gave me HSV2 during hte past couple months) last night i started w/ a really bad backache. I also have a rash on my armpit, like a yeast infection.
t had a fever or flu like symptoms, it started out feeling like a UTI and my mother had said it may be a yeast infection because the symptoms can be the same. That it could be from different condoms and too much friction without lubrication, which has happened with my recent sexual partner. Is she just trying to make me feel better? You could have some other type of infection. It sounds like a urinary tract infection. It may be a bacterial infection on the bumps as well. I would go in and see your doctor to have them test you to see if you have a urinary tract infection. Since it is Friday. If you are not diabetic you can drink a lot of cranberry juice and water and see if you feel better by Monday. If you don't go into the doctor.

About two weeks ago, I was having a lot of itchiness and discharge so I automatically assumed it was a yeast infection. (I've had BV twice before and a yeast infection for the first time two months ago) Without consulting a doctor, I went ahead & got the Monistat 7 Combination Pack.
I used it for the full 7 nights, each night the itching increased. The last night of the treatment, I woke up sweating.
Do you have a high fever? Was it unprotected oral sex? You could get Gonorrhea from oral and it can give you those symptoms. Strep throat would give you a high fever and sometimes swollen lymph nodes under then neck. It is not likely yeast. It wouldn't likely come up that fast. I suggest you see your doctor and tell him/her your encounter and be honest.
He got the fungus infection from me and was diagnosed by his doctor. The only symptom I have right now is a very red labia and a little bit of redness in the crease of the leg as well as a fever for the past week. I had both the gynecologist and dermatologist looking at it. Did not think it was herpes but I have read that symptoms are not that obvious. I might have cut myself on the labia with infected scissors when trying to trim hair.
I took antibiotics the week before for Christmas for a sinus infection and had to take diflucan because I thought I was developing a yeast infection on the antibiotics. I started feeling better and then last week I started itching agajn and noticed red bumps appearing on my Labia and they started to become a little tender. Because she has had such a lot of antibiotics, like newoutlook12 mentions, she may have a yeast infection. If she has a sore bottom this could be a yeast infection and the doctor would be able to prescribe a specific cream to treat that. If you notice she has any white marks or patches in her mouth that could be a yeast infection and the doctor would be able to prescribe a specific mouth gel for that.

Since being on all of these antibiotics for the better part of five months, I have been experiencing some moderate yeast like symptoms. I was a little itchy and dryer than usual, but my discharge was normal, no weird colors, no odors and I had no pain aside from regular cramps from my period.
I finished my antibiotics from November on December the 5th, and started feeling bad again on the 10th or so. Same symptoms, coughing, chest tightness etc.
As specialmom said, the antibiotics used to treat UTIs can cause a rebound yeast infection, but it's really hard to get a yeast infection of the urinary system. Sexual intercourse can cause both, though. If it's just the outer area that hurts when you pee and you also itch, it's probably a yeast infection. If your urine is cloudy, you have a fever, and you have belly or low back pain, it's more likely a UTI (UTIs don't have to present this way though).

I know the symptoms ive had are yeast infection related ive never really had a yeast infection before that I can ever remember and im 21. But the two ulcerations I had worried me. I read that they can occur if a yeast infection gets out of hand so im praying that's what it is. Theres only been the two ulcerations. The same spots. No blisters. They havent healed but they havent spread either. I thought with herpes they spread especially during the first breakout..
An initial genital herpes infection could cause the systemic symptoms you describe (fever, body aches, etc), but new genital herpes isn't possible in someone who hasn't had sex for 9 months. Recurrent herpes doesn't usually cause fever, muscle aches, etc. However, there are a number of non-STD viral infections that could cause the fever and body aches, accompanied by a genital ulcer or rash.
