You can use the over the counter medicine like monistat. I had a yeast infection many times both pregnancies and my doctor said it was safe to use the over the counter creams.

my vagina feels swollen its a little itchy and has a thick white cakey like discharge.I believe this could be a yeast infection? Am I right ? What would be best go to the doctor or over counter remedy? What causes yeast infections? I am a single lady have no children also unemployed and have no health coverage any sugguestions welcome.

t hurt to urintae but when urine touches my area it burns I know it is not STDs but have no clue what type of infection I have can it be a yeast infection and should I purchase over the counter creams and save me a trip to the drs...

I wud always check with the doctor before using anything over the counter. Just to be on the safe side. If something over the counter will work there's no reason they won't ok it so it's always safer to check first. I wud hate to use something that may have a negative effect on my pregnancy. They now have a testing kit to let you know if it in fact is a yeast infection. But yes they do have over the counter meds for it. if they do not work or it comes back then I would go see your dr.

Go to chemist and get cream or prescription for cream from doctor. Live yogurt is thought to help but you'll need to medicate it properly to get rid of it completely.

If you go to the pharmacy ask them for medicine for a vaginal yeast infection...you can buy it over the counter and it will work in like 24hours. And eat lots of yogurt, it prevents the bad bacteria from growing that causes a yeast infection.

My midwife was fine with taking an over-the-counter remedy, but said not to get the one day treatment (maybe too potent?not sure) Also, eating yogurt or taking acedophelus (SP?) supplements are more of a natural remedy that she asked me to do first....I rarely needed the o-t-c meds. Good luck!

m not sure about over the counter drugs being near the cervix, but the medicine they gave me for yeast infection was inserted vaginally as close to the cervix as possible, my sister took monistat 7 and her baby boy is completely fine!

Women get it after taking antibiotics (when ALL bacteria is killed including good bacteria we need to have), douching and other ways. it is treated either over the counter of preferred, to go to the doctor, get checked out and then a systemic pill is given which works fantastic.

Monistat is safe. My Dr told me only the seven day one though...

I am not a doctor I am just someone who has suffered with yeast infections for like 20 yrs!!! In canada they now sell over the counter dufflican and it works way better than the monastat, or canestan. I have tried all the probiotics and I mean I was pumping them into my body and nothing happened!! Yogurt didn't help, so I can only give you the one thing that helped me for sure.

for yeast infection the best thing to do is eat yogurt....naturally kills the yeast. my gyn told me to try that because i used to get a yeast infection after every period....it really works for me so it might for you too....i think cranberry is for kidney infections...good luck...

probiotics can help regulate good bacteria in body. you can buy over the counter. also, noni juice may help to regulate any inflammation in body. research before trying.
