Avatar n tn My son seems to have candida, his partner has like terrible yeast infection, the URI came out negative. He began with irritation, blisters, rash on side of his face, anus, penis and groin area. Does Diflucan and a topical cream solve his problem?
Avatar n tn re not so good at detecting is the long-term presence of candida infections in the intestinal tract in men. Many doctors also still dismiss this problem altogether. I have no idea if this is what you have, but if you do, you might try a supplement made by Herb Pharm called spilanthes usnea compound. The best garlic to use to avoid eating raw garlic is New Chapter Garlic Force. This is an expensive supplement.
Avatar n tn Yes men can catch yeast infections and bacteria infections too. They can get them and give them. Both are not considered a std because they can occur on their own in women bodies without any sexual contact.
Avatar n tn One common organism associated with balanitis is a yeast known as Candida albicans. Balanitis may occur because of excessive growth of Candida, due to moisture and warmth under the foreskin. It can be treated by applying Miconazole, an anti-fungal medication. Most cases of balanitis can be controlled with medicated creams and good hygiene.
Avatar f tn Or, you can try to get tested for the specific type of Candida. There are different types such as Candida albicans, Candida dubliensis, Candida tropicalis etc. Candida dubliensis is the most resistant one. I would see your doctor and ask for a different type of treatment for it. The Lamisil usually works. As for the Staph it depends on what kind of staph whether it is important or not. So you need to find out which kind. Is it Staph epidermidis or Staph aureus. Ask them about that too.
12693075 tn?1442246392 Thrush is a Candida yeast imbalance. You can take the medication to reduce the Candida and you'll get better, but if you don't have good bacteria there to replace it, the Candida will just set up colonies again as it continues to be fed by sugar and processed carbs, and the cycle is likely to begin again.
Avatar n tn Yeast infection is caused by Candida albicans, it is a fungal organism that is present in everyone’s intestinal tract. It is normally kept under control by the immune system and by beneficial intestinal bacteria. This balance is upset when these bacteria are destroyed (typically by antibiotics), when our immune function is impaired (typically due to stress or illness), or when we develop environmental or food sensitivities.
Avatar f tn I have reccurant candida infection and I want to get pergenant what should I do?
Avatar m tn She has a small yeast infection on one corner of her lips. She has been putting ketoconazole on it and it has improved over the last two weeks, but is still there a little. Our question is whether I could get it (either as candida or balanitis) if she gives me fellatio? I am circumcised which apparently lowers risk from traditional oral thrush (but this corner of lips). I am also a well controlled type I diabetic (normal blood sugars).
Avatar f tn You may want to get it tested again to confirm that it is indeed another yeast infection. If it is not, constantly using OTC yeast infection treatments may actually worsen the problem by throwing off your natural bacterial balance that exists.
Avatar f tn If ur docs/gyno are giving u medications for a yeast infection and its not going away, its most likely not a yeast infection. Its pointing more towards an std. Ive had bad yeast infections before where i was on over the counter meds for almost a month n finally went to gyno to get antibiotics and it knocked it out within a day. Those meds are extremely stong and should get rid of it within 2-3 days tops so if its not then it sounds more like and std than a yeast infectikn.
Avatar f tn I unfortunately have a lot of experience with Candida albicans (the most common cause of yeast/fungus infection). When candida proliferates, it can become a serious pathogen affecting any or all of the body's organs. Its favorite foods are antiobiotics, prednisone and sugars. The common fungicide, mentioned above, is usually only briefly effective. After some weeks the condition often returns (because the organisms mutate). It can have really bad side effects.

Avatar m tn I told her that I have itchy anus and can feel that when I eat sugary food, I simply feel yeasty. I told her that I need a pill to treat systemic candida infection, as I could feel my digestive issues are related. She prescribed me Grifluvin V 500 mg which treats SKIN FUNGAL INFECTIONS.... NOT YEAST INFECTIONS. Im pissed. Could someone on here who has successfully dealed with this provide some insight please?
Avatar f tn m currently being treated for candida (yeast infection) due to coated tongue by taking anti candida natural supplement. Sometimes, when we take anti viral medications it deletes good bacteria in our digestive system, hence yeast infection, coated tongue. To reaplanish the good bacteria, we should take acidophulus. That is one of the theory anyways.
Avatar m tn Sounds like a UTI and/or a yeast infection. You'll want to get to the doctor in case it is a UTI because if it is you'll need antibiotics.
Avatar m tn Probiotics can't hurt your stomach, so I don't know what you were taking. The fungus on the outside of your skin isn't candida, it's a different fungus. Candida lives on the inside of your intestinal tract when your beneficial organisms aren't there to keep it from lodging there. It's much more common in women than men. It's highly unlikely you have a systemic candida infection, given the symptoms you're describing.

Avatar m tn Hello, You are right in thinking that it can be a male yeast infection. Men yeast infection can develop due to the overgrowth of Candida albicans. It can be transmitted through intercourse but may develop due in diabetics, weakened immunity and when taking a course of antibiotics also. Some of the symptoms of this condition are irritation and soreness in the head of the male genital, white curdy discharge and redness in the head of the penis.
Avatar f tn Hello~I know you said you have seen many doctors, but, have you seen a dermatologist or an allergist? I am thinking you may have some type of chemical or even food allergy. You may also have an intestinal yeast issue called "Candida" due to all the antibiotics and steroids. Here is a link to what it is: https://www.thecandidadiet.com/candida-symptoms/ I would start taking a high potency probiotic to put friendly bacteria back in your gut.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Well, could be a yeast infection/overgrowth, yes. If you have never been diagnosed for a yeast infection, I would go the first time to your doctor to confirm. They'll help you treat it then and give you ideas why it is happening related to your period. So, yes, I'd see your doctor at this point.
