1315373 tn?1274193185 Sometimes it is not a yeast infection, but something else. They now have a testing kit to let you know if it in fact is a yeast infection. But yes they do have over the counter meds for it. if they do not work or it comes back then I would go see your dr.
608005 tn?1234186146 I have never had a yeast infection so I don't really know how soon after having sex symptoms would appear. I also don't know that you can get a yeast infection from sex...maybe if he had sex with another girl that had one, I'm not sure though. I think that including the guys size and the fact that the sex was rough was relevant because those two factors could be contributing to the fact that you are sore and swollen.
Avatar f tn t know about any home remedies, but you could pick up an over the counter Vagisil screening kit. The kit can indicate whether you have a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or something more serious in which you would need to see the doctor for. As far as the home pregnancy test, I'd try again using first morning urine if you haven't already. Hope this helps until you can get in to see the doctor.
Avatar f tn there is a yeast infection kit?? where can i get one?
Avatar m tn If you cannot see a doctor, Vagisil makes an over the counter screening kit which can indicate if you have a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or something more serious such as an STD in which you would need to see a doctor for. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I would recommend that you google candida, it is basically an overgrowth of yeast. A "yeast infection" is typically experienced by women in their vagina, however yeast can also be present and cause problems all over the body (male or female) and this is more typically called candida. It can and does cause fatigue and very pronounced symptoms. Many of the symptoms are the same as many of the CFS/Fibro symptoms. It is definitely worth looking into.
Avatar f tn eating yogurt is helpful with yeast infections. Are you taking any antibiotics, perhaps for acne? They can cause yeast infections. Also oral sex can cause yeast infections if your partners mouth has a high population of yeast. The pH of your vagina may be off as well. Vagisil has an over the counter screening kit to test pH. If you have only tried over the counter stuff for your infections you need to go see a doctor to get it straightened out! Good luck!
Avatar m tn Hi, so this is some what embarrassing but when I woke up this morning I noticed I have white stuff inside my vagina. To clear things up Im 18 years old, I am sexually active. My period ended 3 days ago, I was sexually active 1 day ago. We didnt use a condom & I'm not on birth control. I've been checked for std's and I am clean. I also take showers on a regular basis. I have had a yeast infection before so I know the symptoms but I'm not showing any.
Avatar n tn For about a week or so, I have had a horrible itching sensation inside of my vagina. It's to the point that if I don't itch it I'm in tears it's so irritated, however, it is very sensitive from being scratched. I can't seem to find any help online, most answers are for external like of a vulva/skin parts...mine is only internal, nothing else itches. I have no discharge, no odor. I'm 27, so not post-menopausal....hopefully you have an answer...
Avatar f tn So I have had neither a yeast infection nor an STD EVER and I'm very worried i have one now. I have the symptoms of a yeast infection soreness, red, itching, white discharge, and little itchy/ sore bumps but those are also the symptoms for chlamydia and gonorrhea. I'm really nervous that I have an STD. What do you think? I was also wondering how long it takes for blood test for STDs to get back and if there a lot faster than the normal way of getting tested?
Avatar f tn t worry about your discharge unless it begins to look like curtled milk, that is a sign of a yeast infection.
Avatar f tn Also, try to avoid baths and go straight for the shower only. I get a yeast infection nearly every time I use a bath. I am just so sensitive down there. The only thing I use in that area is water and dial soap when showering. I too would feel itchy and burning durring the ttc times of the month and my dr said NOT to treat it. Let it be and after the ovulation time window is closed, then start using vagisil wipes EXTERNALLY.
Avatar m tn you can buy this kit from vagisil that tells you if you have a yeast infection or bacterial infection. You can buy them at grocery stores. they should be right there with the monistat. You can read more info here: http://www.vagisilkit.com/kit2/index.shtml If you do have a yeast infection I would use an over the counter cream for 7 days to make sure you get rid of the infection. I don't think a 1 day cream is as effective. You can get other brands if you don't like monistat.
Avatar f tn There is a lotion that Monistat makes that will stop the itching. It comes with the Monistat 7 or 1 yeast infection OTC kit. If a bladder infection is severe enough it is possible that it could have caused a yeast infection. Also if the bladder infection that they gave you a strong antibiotic for then it is possible that it is a side effect from the antibiotics. I would say call your doctor and they might be able to prescribe you something more effective for it.
Avatar n tn It could be a yeast infection honey. Go get a yeast kit from the store and start taking it. Good luck.
Avatar f tn So now I have a case of yeast infection. If it's not one thing it's another. I don't know the soonest I will see my doctor. So now I need to know... Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can take safe to hold me on on this uncomfortable feeling of having a yeast infection until I see a doctor? Any safe home remedies money is tight?
Avatar f tn and bacteria cells and pap smear normal (my dr told me on the 12 visually that I had a yeast infection). It feels like a yeast infection as Ive had several in the past. except this time its mostly isolated to one spot. Im 35 yo female and havent had sex since March 2011. I had a UTI in July (diagnosed by lab test) that went away with a round of antibiotics.
Avatar f tn You can go to Walgreens drug store and by a kit to test if you have a yeast infection and them by the monistat 1 day.
Avatar f tn Sounds like a yeast infection I am 25 weeks and just found out I have a yeast infection on Monday and started taking medicine for it on Tuesday. It is completely normal my doctor said for pregnant women It happens all the time I guess I would go in as soon as you can to get checked if it is not looked at it could be bad for you and the baby.
Avatar f tn I have had yeast infections & I know when to spot them like the back of my hands, but I'm not sure what I have now...I have like a tingling sensation around the opening of my vagina. No discharge though. I looked & its normal color & not red or anything, but I have the urge to want to scratch sometimes. I know its not an std cus I've been tested, but if its not a yeast infection then what could be causing it?
Avatar f tn You can buy a test kit from Vagisil that will tell you if you have a yeast infection or if you need to be seen by your doctor...
Avatar f tn The day after i was very sore down there. Today is wednesday and it seems like I am getting a yeast infection. I am getting worried thinking I have something more serious. We used a condom and we actually didn't finish all the way bc it began to hurt since it has been so long since I have done it. Should I be worried and is it common to get a yeast infection after intercourse.
Avatar f tn Your yeast infection one of my doctors said it was hpv and I looked more into it and its kit the yeast infection and since ur immune system is down so low those bumps will be there kinda basically telling u hey u have a yeast infection I got the 7 day cream and mine were gone in less then a week to a week
Avatar f tn It could be a yeast infection, or just a random infection. At the store, in the section where they sell the YI creams there is an infection testing kit; I suggest getting one just to see what it says. Or, what I used to do, call your OBGYN (or any OB, really) ask to speak to the nurse, describe what it is to her; she will tell you what it is or that you need to be seen. Good luck...
