Yeast infection in navel

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection in navel

yeast-infection

Avatar f tn While antibacterial soap helps by keeping it clean, it does not get rid of the yeast. Yeast is a fungal infection, and you will need to use a topical to kill the fungus. It would be a good idea to go to a doctor for a prescription cream. Make sure that you keep your navel clean and dry. If you work out or are doing activity that causes you to sweat, make sure to dry your navel, or it will come back. Try not to wear clothing that is constricting around the navel.
Avatar n tn Yesterday evening I had a couple pains in my navel like sharp pokes or pinches. Not anything that would make you double over in pain but it was noticeable. My brest tenderness has been building up over the last couple of days. Today I have slight pain in my lower back and hip area. I also have pain in my knee joints. I normally get the in my hip and knee pain when af shows up.
Avatar f tn Please consult a doctor, preferably a surgeon ASAP or go to the ER. Discharge from the navel or umbilicus could be due to fistula, boil, infection or in women due to endometriosis. Umbilical fistulas are narrow tubes the outer skin with anything inside like intestine, mesentry etc. Boils in the umbilicus can also burst and release blood and pus. In your case there appears to a severe infection, that could either be an abscess or a fistula. Please do not delay treatment. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to yeast infection of the belly button or due to some other fungal infection. Fungal infections often present with bad smell or odor. Keep the area clean and with a clean dry ear bud gently clean the navel. Also apply some mild steroid cream like dermacort and antifungal cream like clotrimazole and see if it helps. If the symptoms persist then oral antifungal drugs may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
Avatar n tn I thought it was a yeast infection or something, since people said you can get those in your navel, but I have never had a yeast infection *anywhere*, so wasn't sure. Usually, when I find that it has been "leaking" I swab it out with water, then with hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide always bubbles and fizzes, and recently, I have been experiencing sharp pain inside my belly button and a burning, itching sensation that last for some time after using the peroxide.
1065232 tn?1254879191 Ive been having a wierd tugging pain in my navel every time i moved too quickly or twisted any at all the past week or so. The other day i was just sitting down messing around on my computer and i felt this pop in my belly button accompanied by a terrible smell and pinkinsh red discharge, but when i tried to see what it was i couldnt see anything but fluid.
Avatar f tn The presence of discharge and redness in your navel highly suggests an infection. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Diagnostic tests such as blood tests and culture of the discharge may be done. Antibiotic management is usually indicated for bacterial infection. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn i have taken lots of treatment but nobody mentioned herpes to me.But a doctor diagnosed yeast infection which iwas treated with nystatin but no improvement.
Avatar n tn I have a light pain in the knuckles when I wake up in the morning.I also sometimes feel numbness in the knuckles when the itching becomes acute. What is the diagnosis and what medicines should I take ?
Avatar m tn Sounds like there could be two causes for the itching- an infection (I'm specficially thinking yeast infection) and an allergic reaction. The painkillers should have no effect on the itchiness unless you're allergic to them- and you would probably know before now. It's extremely hard to tell what kind of discharge you have during your period and the symptoms are similar to an allergic reaction (pain, irritation, itchiness, swelling).
Avatar m tn I had a resection of my sigmoid colon about two and a half months ago. Everything went very well, the surgery and my recovery.I've been feeling fine but in the past few days a pain has started in the area of my navel. Nothing that bad, but it worsens when I lie down. Hasn't kept me from sleeping. I can feel tiny little swellings around my navel. Is this cause for concern ?
564491 tn?1320360393 I have been dealing with a strep infection in my navel. I just completed a two week regimen of Amoxicillin. The infection had spread from the navel all over my abdomen, up my chest, and around my hips/back. My asked my internist if I still have an infection, could that cause my BP to rise? It's also been VERY hot and humid lately. I asked if that could cause a rise in my BP. Lastly, I asked him if Buspar could cause a BP rise, since this is the only new medicine I have been taking.
Avatar m tn you're digging to hard in your navel. clean it gently and put a little antibiotic ointment in.
Avatar f tn The first two times it began with slight pain in and above my navel and progressed to what appeared to be an infection. The area above my navel became red and hot and there was a large amount of greenish discharge from my navel. Both times I went to the doctor. Both times they had no idea what it was (other than the obvious infection), nor what caused it. I was put on antibiotics both times and it didn't seem to help.
Avatar f tn And i now have a really dry mouth and a sore bump in it. I also have a yeast infection. Do small infections come on like this. Is this early symptoms. I also feel really dizzy but im pretty sure that part is from the anxiety this has caused me. The thing is unlike people on here who are worried about hiv, i was worrying about my infections, not even thinking about the possibility of hiv. Now it just hit me so quickly, but i dont feel sick.
Avatar m tn The infection should settle in few more days, continue the medications.Take paracetamol for fever.
Avatar f tn Four days ago I woke up to find my belly covered in blood from my belly button I wasn't too concerned till now there's quite a bit of blood in the toilet after use I'm not on my period nor pregnant and have no medical issues, I do feel my belly has gotten larger but only under my belly button and then flattens out again I'm 17 quite active not unhealthy good diet, I've had one anti biotic in my life and a cervical cancer shot 6 years ago, should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. As to your questions: still no itching, no burning, no "hot to the touch". Live alone; only people I've been in close contact with in past 7 days (daughter-in-law, young granddaughters, & sister) don't have a rash. No to sexual contact, no to shaving/waxing/exfoliation. Have dealt with several bouts of yeast skin infections in the past; this is different.

Avatar m tn can a male develope a yeast infection in his penis by receiving oral sex - in other words does having someone give me a blow job cause a yeast infection?
Avatar n tn Bleeding from navel or umbilicus could be due to fistula, boil, infection or in women due to endometriosis. Umbilical fistulas are narrow tubes the outer skin with anything inside like intestine, mesentry etc. Boils in the umbilicus can also burst and release blood and pus. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Do consult your doctor. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar n tn an urinary tract infection, vaginal infection, or an infection of the skin of the perivulvar area. The infection could be bacterial, yeast, or a combination. Usually urinary tract infections are accompanied by the symptoms of increased frequency of urination, and/or drinking, dribbling, or inappropriate urination. However, occasionally the only symptom is licking the vulvar area.
