Avatar f tn By the sounds of things it appears you have vaginosis, a bacterial infection in the vagina. You also have a fungal or yeast infection which is causing the itching. You need to make an urgent appointment to see your doctor. The doctor will no doubt take a swab of the area to confirm the diagnosis and will treat it with an antibiotic or a medication called metronizadole to kill of the bacteria.
Avatar f tn My friend said she she used yogurt too, but not in the traditional manner. She used plain, no sugar (yeast loves sugar, so that would be a terrible outcome), Greek yogurt on put it "down there." Now, do some research on homeopathic and home-remedy treatments for yeast infections, especially regarding the yogurt, before you try this, but it may help. And like they said, avoid harsh soaps and sex for a bit.
5806286 tn?1375050370 I was recently diagnosed with a yeast infection by my doctor, which I didn't even have symptoms for. I know yeast infections are common during pregnancy, and I'm looking for a less synthetic way to help my body heal. My hoo haw doesn't react well to chemicals anyway. Anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn t know about any home remedies, but you could pick up an over the counter Vagisil screening kit. The kit can indicate whether you have a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or something more serious in which you would need to see the doctor for. As far as the home pregnancy test, I'd try again using first morning urine if you haven't already. Hope this helps until you can get in to see the doctor.
Avatar f tn i have either yeast infection/thrush or some other infection, maybe uti... i'm 14 weeks preg and i have an appointment for the doctors tommorow morning, see whats wrong.. i have been using the cream from trush for few days, not sure if its working though.. ... anyways, my question is, is it okay to have baths while having thrush or some other infection down there?
Avatar f tn I have never heard of a yeast infection being linked to preterm labour, but I am not a Dr. either so I certainly don't know that for sure. I do know you shouldn't just ignore it, nor should you try to treat it yourself with an over the counter remedy. You should see your Dr. I don't know it this applied to yeast infections, but I do know that small issues can be bigger problems during pregnancy and your Dr. is the best person to diagnose and treat you appropriately.
Avatar n tn Sorry your username makes me want cheesecake now lol I honestly would go to your doc I was doing the home remedy stuff but it worked for a short period of time...
Avatar f tn No. There's no white balls in discharge, I think I just cut myself with my nail on accident, so I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn I am 16 weeks and I have been constantly keeping a yeast infection with this pregnancy. I took the meds the doctor prescribe but it goes away and come right back. Is it normal or should I try some home remedies? I didn't have this while pregnant with my son.
Avatar f tn Boric acid doesn't even sound safe to take internally or externally. Boric Acid is a toxin used to kill rodents. I have heard of one home remedy for boric acid, and that is for ear aches...and that doesn't even sound safe to me. Only your OB can tell you what is safe to treat your yeast infection. I know Monistat is safe to use. Please don't ever try to self diagnose or treat yourself during pregnancy, it's not worth the consequences to your baby.
Avatar f tn Recently I came down with an upper respiratory infection and the doctor prescribed me a penicillin to clear it up. I told the doctor that I had a yeast infection the last time I took an antibiotic. I purchased a probiotic but didnt take it till after the 3rd day of medication and the damage was done already. I got a yeast infection and I have had one before due to antibiotics so I knew what it was.
Avatar n tn Assuming that this is a yeast infection, I bought some canesoral and canesten cream. After a day of taking it the itchiness is pretty much gone. I'm still going to be tested but I guess I'm just looking for a bit of advice as to weather or not this seems like a yeast infection or possible std. I should also mention that i've just started birth control and i'm on my second month and that this sometimes happens. Do you think it could be a result of that?
Avatar f tn Has anyone else used garlic for yeast infections? I found it as a natural home remedy as well as yogurt and I have no doctor till Monday. Any advice for me?
Avatar f tn and find a new md, I had a yeast infection in my first pregnancy, over 8 years ago so I done remember what they did give me that worked but I woukd find a new dr if you really don't like this one.

Avatar f tn t wash up in there or anything. But some do believe a salt bath helps with things like a yeast infection. I used Monistat one day which takes about two days to work. Ugh, yeast infections are uncomfortable. You can eat some probiotic yogurt (such as Dannon Activia) or tae a supplement which helps too.
Avatar n tn Did he do a culture on any of the spots? It doesn't sound like yeast, or an std. You should try posting in the dermatology forum.
Avatar m tn Your itchiness in the genital area is highly likely to be caused by a fungal problem called Thrush. Your groin joint pain and back pain may be due to arthritis or from urinary infections or bowel problems. You can get itchiness and soreness in the groin area in the folds of skin if you are overweight.
Avatar f tn So now I have a case of yeast infection. If it's not one thing it's another. I don't know the soonest I will see my doctor. So now I need to know... Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can take safe to hold me on on this uncomfortable feeling of having a yeast infection until I see a doctor? Any safe home remedies money is tight?
Avatar f tn Fungal infections need treating with anti-fungal medication. As a home remedy you can apply natural set yogurt to your washed and gently dried skin. You can buy antifungal medications to use on the genitals, but as you as do not know whether this is a fungal problem it is best to get a swab taken and sent to the lab for analysis. Don't use normal soaps, bath or shower gels, they will dry your skin out more.
