Okay, this may be TMI...but I am confused...Okay, I came down with a yeast infection on Tuesday because of some antibiotics I was on last week to prevent my onset of strep throat getting any worse. Okay, well I called the doc and they said that Monistat (sp) will be fine to take at 19 weeks. Well I took that Tuesday night around 11pm, I expected it to take around 24 hours to work. Well, 24 hours was 2 days ago! I am not sure if it is safe for me to take another dose.
My step daughter is three and has had a yeast infection going on three months now. Myself and my husband aren't quite sure how to treat it. Is there any specific diaper rash cream that could help?
Do you have any ideas what it could be if not a yeast infection? my symptoms match the yeast problem, afew docs have told me I don't have thrush but my tongue is 'upset' for sure, the hot/numb sensation across my forehead worries me and I have told this to the doc before but no one seems to do anything. could it be thyroid u think? or maybe just mental and I'm doing it to myself?
Hello Medhelp community, Few months ago I noticed when urinating it stung/burns almost like I had a cut or something on the glans of the penis it wasn't till a few weeks ago it felt a lot worse. Having phimosis I had no way of identifying if it that were the case. But I did my research online and it just felt like it fits, sometimes there is a bit of clumpy discharge and the other times it itches really, really badly.
I am taking care of a yeast infection at the moment and i've been using garlic and yogurt, because everything over the counter is too harsh, so i'm wondering about how long does it take to clear up with these treatments? I seem to be getting better, i'm just still uncomfortable on the externally. is it normal for the external itchiness to last longer than the discharge and burning?
I know that sometimes I get a reaction from eating too much garlic/onion, but I haven't experience it for a long time now, and I love garlic bread. I don't eat too much onion or garlic though, I kept it low on the intake, since I don't actually like it that much, but I love the smell of it in my cooking. And I haven't been to a doctor about this. Two nights ago my partner brought home some fried rice, which I know it has garlic in it, just that I don't know how much.
I've had a resistant yeast infection for many months now. I've tried over-the-counter meds as well as the following prescriptions: Terconazole, fluconazole and now ketoconazole. I've tried yogurt and herbal remedies. I've been tested for diabetes and HIV. does anyone have any experience with this? What else can I do? My doctor keeps putting me on the azole drugs. I've read that the type of yeast I have, candida glabrata can be reistant to these drugs.
Also, at that time I did have discharge so she tested it and said it looked like a yeast infection. I told her how I was unsuccessful with the monistat and she said if I've had this yeast infection for months that it's a mean one and wrote me prescription for a one night vaginal insert. I used it Thursday night and by friday night I was a brand new person! I felt amazing that I had a normal vagina again lol!
i have done tests for chlamydia and syphills tests were negative for both!! My Doubt is how long yeast infection stays on penis??? Will it occur again?? some times my penis is clean and dry some times the color changes to violet or blackish on the corona of my penis! Please help!
Im 26 yr old lady who is suffering from chronic vaginal yeast infection since 6 months. I have tried all flucanazole tablets, suppositories etc but i get temporary relief and it comes back! I am in monogamous relation since past 9 years and since 5 months I have abstained from sex but it still comes back.i have tested for other stds and diabetes but negative. I am highly stressed as i read that it could be 1st sign of HIV in women.
Honestly if it were me i would go back and demand to be tested for everything to rule things out because as i said i truly do not think this would have anything to do with a yeast infection. Also, do u shave down there? If so how long? I know when i shave i get small bumps sometimes and they itch and burn (hense razor burn). U could try using cortisone and see if that helps.
Im 19 years old, and have a yeast infection sonce about half a year ago. I have been to the gynocologist several times, and all they keep doing is giving me perscriptions for different medicines. I have tried the suppositories (3-day(little bullets that are inserted vaginaly)) , the 1 day pill(orally), the 7 day creams(vaginally). EVrything has been tried several times in different orders.
I am a 20 year old male. I got diagnosed with a yeast infection in February of last year, which affected both my testicles and penis. I was prescribed 2% Ketoconazole cream by the dermatologist and I applied the cream for 8-10 weeks. When I stopped applying the cream, I had no symptoms whatsoever for 6 months (it was beautiful, I was finally normal!). it might be important to note that these 6 months were Spring through Fall, and the weather was relatively warm if not hot.
) which may also have been secondarily infected with yeast. Prescribed Ketoconozole for the probable/possible yeast infection, as well as mometasone furoate for the psoriasis. Have been dealing with dry cracked skin on anal region forever it seems, but once I got these dry scaly areas on penis I finally put it all together (or the doc did), now I have the answer I believe. it does not itch, and is in separate distinct red patches, which my doctor thinks points to psoriasis, not fungal/yeast.
My wife and I got married in January, we havent had sex in, well without pain, in 1 1/2 years. A previous doctor couldnt pick up a yeast infection. Kept telling her the pain she's been having down there was because she was "raw." I wont get into that and the pain i'd like to deliver to that doctor's face. But anyway, we have seen a specialist in Hershey PA twice over the last 2 months. He prescribed Spornox, itraconozale...spelling on both?
If you keep getting yeast infections, you probably have a systemic yeast infection. Garden of Life Fungal Defense is the best yeast detox on the market in my opinion. One bottle is a 2 week detox. Just follow the directions and drinks LOTS of water.
I know how uncomfortable and inconvenient it is to walk around with a yeast infection all the time; hoping that next month it will go away but it doesn't. Again, I hope this helps!!! P.S. My doctor said that Diflucan wouldn't work because you'd just need to take it again EVERY month. Makes sense.
Pardon my blunt response but a clove of garlic put inside of the vagina works miracles on a yeast infection. garlic has an anti-fungal property that will clear you up in an instant, no more gross medication. Clean all of the paper fro a clove, remember you'll need to push it back out again when the time comes. Next time you feel an infection coming, or next time you take antibiotics use garlic to head off an infection. Also make stick-less yogurt pops and put it in your vagina.
If you get a yeast infection from sex... how long does it normally take to show up? My experience before subtracting the glycerine was that I would start feeling itching/irritation almost immediately after... so...am I wrong in assuming I'm probably in the clear? My yeast-free friend wants to hook up, and I hesitate to do anything with him until I get confirmation from my doctor that I'm yeast-free as well. Even with a condom- because I'm hella paranoid!
Since I had never received a yeast infection I informed my mom and she told me what was goin on and gave me the vagisil cream yo help. how long does it usually take for vagisil to clear a yeast infection?
Also they told me to eat yogurt when taking other antibiotics. I would always get a bladder infection that would turn into a yeast infection. I would end up with four or more a year. it sucks and it makes me miserable. I never found the creams to work for me. They just made it worse. HTH!
then i searched online and i found that it might be yeast infection. i started home remedy using yogurt and later i started eating garlic also. it kinda went away and i stopped doing all that but it came back again and i started it again. its still there. My concern is that is it yeast infection or somthing else like herpes. I will mention this also that i kinda bought this local handwash by mistake and used it on my penis to wash it before.
i once had an infection and thought that it was a yeast infection. I bought the cream and made it worse. i went to the dr. and there was no yeast present. i have heard that the 1 day treatment is not as effective as the 3-7 day. i usually go with the 3 day but being as thrifty as i am, the 7 day is less expensive!
The pill that you were talking about...how long did it take for you see results with that? And how long do you have to take it for? Are there any long term consequences? Has anyone tried the diet and been able to successfully come off it at some point because I've also read that people have had to stay on it for years to keep their symptoms under control...thanks so much for your advice!
I believe i have a yeast infection. Symptoms: thick creamy (small webby lumps)with no smell, itching!!, &slight burning. I've started doing the garlic thing (put a clove of garlic in your nether regions) & applying tea tree oil for itch. So far I've noticed a great improvement but I want to know how long i have to do this for & any better natural treatments?
's or strongly suggest quit treating for yeast, or do what the above reponder suggested. Good luck, we all know how bad these can be...I am a walking yeast infection when I am pregnant.
