Yeast infection from antibiotics treatment

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection from antibiotics treatment

yeast-infection

It could be, but not sure what it would be if even yeast.
You're probably suffering from dermatitis from the 'treatments' you have used. I hope you used natural, non coloured and non sugar yoghurt. You could use a water based lubricant or even sorbelene cream. Also if you have dermatitis you may need some sort of mild steroid cream to fix it. Next time you get thrush you may be better off using an antifungal cream to fix it or the fluconazole tablet and avoiding the side effects.
Now i know its normal to get yeast infection after or during antibiotics, i got one last month in january and decided i would get a monostat after the antibiotics and i did then right after the monostat treatment i was on a new set of antibiotics and the yeast infection is back. I've tried the plain yogurt and gallons of cranberry juice. My main question is, is it possible for a yeast infection to spread to the anus?
continuation of symptoms may call for a second round of treatment. Visit the doctor to make sure a yeast infection was the proper diagnosis. Yeast infections are normal occurrences in woman.
even if you think you may have a yeast infection, you really need to go to the dr. and have him/her diagnosis it for you (in case its something other than a yeast infection). if it is, and it comes back again at some other point (which they often do) you can go get an OTC medicine/treatment like monistat and treat it yourself since you'd know exactly what it is. just be careful and make sure theres no chance of you being pregnant cuz you shouldnt use the cream if you are.
First you must try and calm down. Yes antibiotics will cause a yeast infection as a side effect. You may want to use Monistat 1 day. It's pricy but It does work. If you continue to take a lot of antibiotics it WILL keep coming back. Unfortunately it's a side effect and nothing can be really done about it except if you stop taking the antibiotics. Have you ever tried to see if your DR can prescribe something other than antibiotics for your sinus infections?
He or she would be the best to tell you about side effects. If not enough info from that person, then go see your ob-gyn. Probably there are yeast-infection/antibiotic/birth- control-pill knowledgeable women posting here, but it is a complex interaction you are asking about, and an ob-gyn would be the best to advise you. Home treatment of a YI without even a call to a doc makes me nervous.
Various reasons for recurrent or persistent fungal infection are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance , co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. Treatment resistance can be overcome by applying a cream with a combination of antifungals (Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1% and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%) and oral antifungals.
It is a yeast infection. A yeast infection can be under your nails, on your skin, throat, stomach, etc. Thrush is VERY painful, and you would know if you had it. It looks a lot like a yeast-like infection in general, but a lot more painful. You need to see an ear, nose, and throat doctor and have a culture done to see what it is. Your boyfriend may have carried some yeast on him that passed into your mouth. Get checked and let us all know what he/she said. Hope you feel better soon!
What's the fastest way to relieve the itch and pain from a yeast infection when the medicine isn't helping. I had a uti and they have me amoxicillin and I always get yeast infections with antibiotics bits its really bothering me and I can't take it anymore!!!
They cause yeast infections. The treatment you need for a yeast infection is an antifungal such as the monistat. Antibiotics would be given for bacterial vaginosis.
it's not necessarily yeast, it could be Erythrasma (bacteria) Antibiotics do foster yeast infections, it's called Antibiotic candidiasis (also known as "Iatrogenic candidiasis") is a Candidal infection caused by antibiotic use.[1]:311 Antibiotic candidiasis can result from overuse or over-prescription of broad-spectrum antibiotics[2] (such as oxytetracycline commonly used for the control of acne).
Do you have any ideas what it could be if not a yeast infection? my symptoms match the yeast problem, afew docs have told me I don't have thrush but my tongue is 'upset' for sure, the hot/numb sensation across my forehead worries me and I have told this to the doc before but no one seems to do anything. could it be thyroid u think? or maybe just mental and I'm doing it to myself?
See a doctor it could be a STD the symptoms from a yeast infection are the same as some STD I thought.
Just don't have sexual intercourse. Wash your genital area frequently with a nonscented gel , like summers eve.
What freaked me out is it was about the same time my son had what we thought was a yeast infection from an anitbiotic (turns out it was actually an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and the diapers!!) but it freaked me out none the less. I have always be copious about handwashing before and after changing diapers and after using the restroom (comes from the nursing field, minimum 10 second scrum followed by Purel, lol) Poor girl,I hope it clears up soon!
Hello MedHelp community, Few months ago I noticed when urinating it stung/burns almost like I had a cut or something on the glans of the penis it wasn't till a few weeks ago it felt a lot worse. Having phimosis I had no way of identifying if it that were the case. But I did my research online and it just felt like it fits, sometimes there is a bit of clumpy discharge and the other times it itches really, really badly.
and my test showed that i didnt, have an std but i did have a yeast infection. Took meds but only got a li relief. The itch continued so in october i went to another doc and was treated for a yeast infection. I got no relief that time so i went to a OBGYN and got tested for yeast/bactiria and they both came back negative. Then about a week ago (still with an itchy vagina) i noticed my clitoris swollen and very sensative. Ilooked down there and noticed a pin sized bump with white at the top.
There may be a slightly increased occurrence in the groups you mention, but the main risk factor is repeated treatment for yeast infections due to C. albicans; the antibiotic treatment tends to select resistant yeasts, and glabrata is the most common of them. C. albicans, glabrata, and sometimes other species are normal inhabitants of the lower intestinal tract, vagina, and/or skin. They are there all the time.
They tested and treated for tons of things but no amount of antibiotics seemed to fix anything. Turns out, they discovered after all that that she had a yeast infection that had gotten back up into her bladder! That was causing all the constant problems and recurring vaginal region issues. She got the proper meds and it cleared right up and she's been in good shape since.
About 3 weeks ago i started getting a burning sensation when I urinate and i noticed the tip was red and swollen but with no break outs or discharge also after ejaculation it would hurt for many hours more than 15-24 sometimes i finally went to a doctor yesterday and he said i have no UTI but it looks like i have a Yeast infection. He prescribed Nyaderm (Nystatin) for 7 days 4 times a day.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
However, the sign of a yeast infection came around. A week after I took the chlamydia pills, I already had signs of a yeast infection (cottage cheese, white discharge w/ no odor). I cured it with an over the counter vaginal insert (monistat 1-day treatment) and it went away 2-3 days later. Now that I had sex again for the first time in over a month, the yeast came back but tgis time it has odor and its more liquid and a little yellow in color. Did the Chlamydia come back?
HOWEVER, I was on an antibiotic and NOW I have a yeast infection!!!! I've never ever had one before in my 35 years! I called my drs office today to call in a prescription for me. Does anyone have any idea how soon this will clear up?? I've had it since about last Thursday (but didn't know what it was b/c I've never had one before.) Do you think it will clear up in time for ovulation???? ARrrgh!
So as some of you know I have had bacterial vaginosis for the past four months and went thru treatment after treatment. My last treatment was oral antibiotics and it may have caused a yeast infection. I have been experiencing the most intense itching in my vaginal area than ever for a little over a week now. Kinda difficult not to scratch when it itch that bad.
Last year, an endoscopy revealed I had a yeast infection in my esophagus; my gastroenterologist said it was from long term antibiotic treatment. I've no idea if there is nay connection between the two conditions. I am so tired of the burning sensation. It's the worst symptom I'm experiencing. Any advice/recommendations?
should i keep taking amoxicillin even if it cause a yeast infection or should i stop and treat the yeast infection
I think i have a mild yeast infection from my antibiotics (used for my bronchitis). No discharge, little to no itching, but very irritated and dry. Somewhat burning. Which cream is best to use?
