yeast infection during first trimester

Did any of you had vaginal yeast infection during first trimester? My doctor perscribed me terconazole. When I got the medication inside of the package it said do not use during first trimester. I researched online and it says that some birth defects can occur.. I spoke with the nurse who said that there is not really anything safer than this medicine and leaving issue untreated can cause miscarriage (if infection gets to the uterus). I really don't know what is best deciduous here.

Have you seen your doctor about the yeast infection? There are medications that are safe to use during pregnancy for yeast infection.

is it safe for my baby at the first trimester? I just read it is safe only during the second trimester. I am confused. should I wait to use this cream? My ob wouldn't let me use any type of medication you insert in there during the first trimester but just the cream was okay to use. But she said it's safe either way after the first trimester.

Yes I took antibiotics several times throughout my pregnancy and even in my first trimester. I had a serious problem with vaginosis and then yeast infections because of the antibiotics. It was a vicious circle. K-bug is a very healthy 9 month old now.

I just had a yeast infection and thank god it's over. no I believe you shouldn't take that . my Dr gave me monistat. I did not think it was going to work but it did. i only took one that i injected inside me. after a day my yeast infection is gone check with your doctor first they may have something you can try.

My OB has prescribed me fluconazole 150 mg (one tablet only) for yeast infection and metronidazole 500 mg (to take for seven days) to treat bacterial vagnosis infection. She said it is safe however I am still hesitating. Please I need your advices.

Sorry to hear that. Monistat is probably the only med they recommend for yeast infection during pregnancy. Can't your doc prescribe something?? How long can you go on like this? Good luck to you. I hope it goes away!

If you have a yeast infection during pregnancy I think its normally just a cream that they provide you not.pills!

was always told over the counter meds were fine, but during first trimester to only insert tube halfway. Also I found that spending the extra $ on the name brand was worth it, it works much better. And only use seven day cream, 3day & 1day were too strong & could soften ur cervix.

I had Yeast infection in my 2nd trimester and i went to the doctor...they prescribed an over the counter cream...I got it again in my 3rd trimester...embarrass to go to doctor again but should i still go or just get the over the counter cream.... Very common during the entire pregnancy. I had 3 in a row before getting a yeast infection when I was pregnant with my daughter and I was in my third trimester. I was on meds for a while and my baby was fine. You can try drinking cranberry juice from now on to keep it from reoccurring but it doesn't get rid of them. And make sure you go to the bathroom often and drink lots of liquids all the time.

I read the precautions and it says not to take in the 1st trimester. I am concerned because I am in a lot of pain from the yeast infection and I don't want it to harm the baby, but I don't want the prescription to cause birth defects either. Please help.

I got one in my first trimester I think. The 7 day monistat works the best.

I had severe yeast infections during my pregnancy...they were so bad that I could barely pee without burning. Anyways my OB prescribed me diflucan. But I believe it was during my third trimester. During the first one, I was told to use Monistat 7. It's safer to use monistat 7 instead of 3 or 1 during your first trimester since it releases small amounts of medication with each dose.

For a Yeast infection during pregnancy you are supposed to use Monistat 7. It's the most effective.
