could this be balanitis or a yeast infection from the antibiotics because I they did cure the urethritis symptoms but now I have this issue.
3: was it a good idea to stop the imiquimod since I started noticing these problems ?

The "spit test" for yeast infection is pure quackery. Anyway, yeast doesn't cause the symptoms you describe.

ve experienced burning during sex. I went to my local gyno for this and she said it was probably a yeast infection, so she gave me fluconazole. I took this, and saw no changes. I also just took a Vagisil screening test, and my pH is normal, so I don't have vaginosis or trichomoniasis. I don't exhibit THAT many symptoms, so I'm wondering if it even is a yeast infection. Could it be something else? Maybe the burning during sex isn't related?
About 3 weeks later my wife got a thrush infection and a week after that I got some read spots on head of penis and under foreskin. These disappeared in a few days but then I noticed a purulent discharge and so went to GU clinic. Diagnosed as NSU and over next three months it kept recurring despite abstaining from sex and being treated with Azithromycin 1 dose, Doxycycline 1 week, Erythromycin + Metronidazole 1 week, and lastly Azithromycin again for 5 days.
I was diagnosed with cervictis, yeast infection, and Bladder infection. I was given all meds to clear it up.. Since the encouter I have been feeling really weird.. I know have heavy discharge, uncomfortanle periods that sting, discharge that look like yeast, but its not. I had it tested all the doctor. I had several std check up nothing found. burnig sensation in my thighs,. Now around my period it burns.. could there still be a infection the doctors are missing? please help me.

In February, it felt like like razor blades when I was urinating (I am a 38 y/o female). First I was diagnosed with a yeast infection and treated with diflucan and metrinazole, no better. I got a second round of treatment and it helped somewhat, but not much. My Dr. and I both surmised it may have had something to do with the depo shot, as this had been right after my 2nd shot. I began using probiotics and candex (natural remedies) with some relief.
I had unprotected sex with my ex-girlfriend a couple days ago. I don't think she has been having sex unprotected and I no I haven't either. Since then I have noticed white spots around the tip and ring of my penis. Also I have been having a slight itching sensation on the tip and shaft of my penis. My lower back has been a little sore but nothing real major.
My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
I always urinate straight after intercourse and shower as well. I know it is all linked to the CFS and yeast overgrowth but how can I stop this irritation. I avoid sugar and yeast to the best of my ability but even natural sugar, like that found in fresh fruit, gives me huge problems. I take Inner Health which at first makes my symptoms more severe. Antibiotics make symptoms worse and I take Nilstat tablets with them. I drink 2-3 litres of water a day. I take Ural and Hiprex.
I was prescribed Doxycycline for 2weeks (I have yet to take this). I asked could this make a possible yeast infection worse and was told no-however thrush is listed as a side-effect. I have another appointment with the STD clinic in 2 weeks.
Possibility of a yeast/thrush infection? Should I be asking for a test to confirm? I do not want to be handed another tube of cream.
Possibility of a persistent bacterial infection with so many negative tests? I know tests in the UK are limited in scope.
If your partner has or had bacterial vaginosis then it can also linger in your case too. Both fungal infection and bacterial vaginosis can cause a foul smell. STD from gonococcal urethritis, which can persist for months after exposure, can also cause white discharge, but has been ruled out in your case. It can also be non gonococcal urethritis due to irritants like soaps and detergents.
You can discuss the other possibilities with your doctor and try treatment for those.

I agree with the advice you had from your doctor: I am confident you have no STD from the oral sex event and that neither your nor your main partner's symptoms are the result of any infection from that event. Shy? First. it was a low risk event: oral sex issafe sex, with low rik for some STDs and zero risk for others. Second, neither your nor your partner's symptomsare typical for any STD.
Welcome to the Forum. From the sounds of things you have non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), a common penile infection which can be caused by a variety of difficult to grow bacteria. The recommended treatment is either doxycycline, 100 mg twice daily for 7 days or azithromycin, 1.0 gram by mouth as a single dose. Thus the therapy you have had is appropriate.
He did a complete exam. Said symptoms sound more urethritis and/ or yeast due to the localized pain, lack of redness and lack of symptoms typically seen with std's. I gave a urine sample to rule anything out. And I am on 1g of Zithromax and 7 days doxy BID. Additionally he prescribed nystatin cream. At this point, what else can we do?
i saw the dr and he told me it was probably another prostate infection, possibly some urethritis, and a yeast infection! ARRGG!! he gave me more cipro and some diflucan. i took them both (1 diflucan) and took cipro for 10 days. symptoms in testicles and prostate felt better, but urethra was still hurting and uncomfortable mostly at night. my penis skin peeled like crazy, and the bumps got mostly better.
I'm a 22 y.o F and so far in my life I have never had any real serious issues with my health, I'm a very healthy young adult. I have had a monogamous relationship with one boyfriend for nearly a decade now and he has no problems. However, at the end of April I got what I thought was a UTI and went as I normally would to see my Gynecologist for a test and antibiotics. She ruled out any reproductive infections and my urinalysis came back negative but she gave me Cipro to treat it anyway.
hey guys, i have a similar situation i was diagnosed with urethritis my urologyst told me that it was normal thing when having unprotected sex, that it was not an std. still for peace of mind he sent me to do a swab test in my urethra, and it came back negative for stds,chlamidya and ghonorrea.
