2003871 tn?1336168469 Diabetes, birth control, illness, antibiotics, and a random x factor can all cause a yeast infection. So if this vaginal inflammation is a yeast infection either or can cause it. You're really young so I don't know if you're worried about diabetes- do you have diabetes or many risk factors? If you have reoccurring yeast infections that can be a sign of diabetes, however yeast infections can easily occur without diabetes.
Avatar f tn Various reasons for recurrent or persistent fungal infection are incomplete treatment treatment resistance, co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. Diagnosis can be confirmed only after pelvic examination and swab samples of the discharge and cervix swabs. Treatment depends on the same. So please consult a gynecologist and get yourself evaluated. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been recently diagnosed pre diabetic. Is it possible that this is causing a recurrent hard to treat yeast infection? I've tried Monistat and Diflucan. Neither work. It feels better at first but then it's right back with a vengeance. I've had many yeast infections over the years and never one that just wouldn't go away. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn I'm 17, 18 in a few months, a Junior in high school, and even though i've been waiting months for it to go away I itch. I have had yeast infections before, the itchiness, swelling, discharge, but I took some over the counter pill for yeast infection and my vagina still inches, swells and It's turning whiteish with small bumps on one side.
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. you are such a wise lady to look at your health as a whole and try to be your best in that regard. High blood sugar is long known to be associated with yeast overgrowth. That does not necessarily mean diabetes but could. https://www.healthline.com/health/diabetes/diabetes-and-yeast-infections. Do you get an annual physical? If you haven't had one in awhile, it would be a great idea to schedule one.
Avatar m tn i have small undiagnosed bumps on my penis (i have diabetes and this is often the result of yeast infections) and two weeks ago i received oral sex from a male who claimed to be hiv-negative. if it were to be assumed that i have hsv-2, should i be concerned about a real possibility of hiv transmission, or is it still a negligible risk in any case?
Avatar m tn My wife has re-ocuring yeast infection. Her doc took a swab and said no STS but yeast infection keeps comming back. y wife wants to ask her doctor for a sts test but I tell her yeast and sts are not realted. Is this correct?

Avatar m tn ) What can happen with a man and wife is that actually, he can retain the yeast or infection (if this was a bacterial infection which green discharge and bad smell indicate mixed with a yeast or fungal infection which is a common combination) and pass it back to the woman. I would think it is more that than anything to do with the diabetes. I'd personally go back to your doctor and explain this.
Avatar m tn Water leak in the house where you stay, the season being rainy, not ensuring the cloths you wear are pressed and dry - all these can cause an yeast infection. Other causes can be using common toilets as in hostels or sexual contacts with persons already having an yeast infection or even exposure to plants and trees supporting fungal growth. It is also important to clean the head of the penis on a daily basis and keep the whole area and undergarments clean and dry.
Avatar n tn I was hospitalized a year ago with kidney stones, kidney infection, urinary tract infection, and an infected gallbladder that had to be extracted. I cannot seem to get rid of the urinary tract infections as I have had treatment 7 times now within one year. I drink the pure cranberry juice as I have heard it helps fight off and prevent UTI's. Nothing seems to work.

Avatar n tn She is fine one day and the next day her bottom lip is noticeably swollen, her eyes are red and painful, and she has a yeast infection. During the same time period her blood sugar goes way up (seems like no matter what she eats or how much insulin she is giving herself). She also has flu like symptoms like low grade fever, body ache, and fatigue. Could this all be stress related or is it something more serious? Please help if you can.
Avatar m tn First of all you always check with a Pharmacist first. Its true that certain antibiotics can give you a yeast infection due to the fact they tend to "kill off" the flora in that part of your body. Also be aware that certain and most can also make birth control pills non effective for 30 days so use another form of protectection until your next full cycle.
1999441 tn?1589741765 What I am suggesting is that she talk to her doctor who prescribed the metformin, explain that its side effects are so annoying to her that she won't take it, and see what else the doctor can prescribe. It's not like her diabetes disappeared when she 'got fed up and quit" her meds, and it seems like the diabetes might even be getting worse.
Avatar f tn Hi, Yeast infection is best diagnosed on a wet smear and not on a pap test. Repeated yeast infection is a sign of decreased immunity and hence you need to rule out anaemia, chronic infection in the body and diabetes. Taking of multi-vitamin supplements and having a healthy diet will help. Also vaginal pessary and keeping the area clean and dry will help. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided.
Avatar f tn I was on antibiotics about two months ago for a sinus infection when i got a yeast infection and i've tried all the over the counter creams and applicators they have little effects and i've been prescribed diflucan five times it's not going away and my doctors just seem to keep prescribing me this and i don't know what to do or how to fix it i also have chronic sinus infections and have for about a year but that is being dealt with im just wondering if there's a possibility i
Avatar f tn First you must try and calm down. Yes antibiotics will cause a yeast infection as a side effect. You may want to use Monistat 1 day. It's pricy but It does work. If you continue to take a lot of antibiotics it WILL keep coming back. Unfortunately it's a side effect and nothing can be really done about it except if you stop taking the antibiotics. Have you ever tried to see if your DR can prescribe something other than antibiotics for your sinus infections?
Avatar n tn The fissures have healed but it very uncomfortable and nothing seems to work. I have changed my diet and am on a strict no yeast, sugar, dairy, and fruit diet. I am very faithful about the diet and also do not use any kind of scented soap and wear cotton panties and loose clothing. I have also tried several homeopathic remedies such as coconut oil and tea tree oil, these have given me the most relief but it is not going away. My husband is deployed and so I am currently abstinent.
