yaz

Avatar n tn got way longer on it- I used to only bleed for 4 days on Aleese, then gradually this increased and due to weight gain and water retention switched to Yasmin...well after a year on that I was bleeding for 8 to 9 days (still bleeding even while taking the 'active' pills) also I started getting cramps and what not and my dr kept saying that should not be happening since you only have a withdrawal bleed...
Avatar f tn I have had a weight problem all my life, and had gastric bypass in 2005 and lost over 130 pounds, so have not noticed weight as an issue for me, because I ahve other issues weight-wise and it would be hard to know if Yasmin was affecting my weight. I know when I have a period I can gain up to 10 pounds of water weight when that happens. My doc says there is no discernible reason for me to stop taking them way up until and into menopause.
869854 tn?1239978206 I just started to take yasmin not yaz and hope this helps me. I have been off the pill for years. I had no luck with the copper iud for 4 years hormone free but the bleeding never go less and the duration never did either. The nuva ring made me depressed tried that for 4 mnths after the iud. I am 39 and my hormones are changing greatly my which they say can happen at this age. my normal periods all my life are changing to every 21 day last period came 109 days later. My GYNsuggeseted the pill.
1447404 tn?1284604228 This is my first week on these two medications. I was told that I have PCOS a week ago. I was wondering what side effects you have had from these drugs. Over the past year, I have gained 50 pounds by changing nothing at all. This gain happened while I was doing 1.5 hr cardio a day with weights & eating around 800 calories. (5'4, 160 now). My Dr. told me that Metformin would help with lowering my weight.Yet, I'm now on Yaz.
Avatar m tn Then I got back on it a year later, and started having major signs of depression, weight gain, and just a change in my hormones. I use to be the bubbliest happiest person in the world before I started taking this pill. Now I find myself majorly depressed, and have been gaining weight. I am also, tired all the time. Before I started taking the pill, I use to have so much energy. I know that I am not the same person as I was before I started taking this pill.
Avatar f tn I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I have been on Yasmin for 2 months now, I was on YAZ over a year prior. In these two months, I have experienced depression that was never present before, I'm more tired and somedays don't want to get out of bed, my breast are severly tender, my breathing feels off somedays, I'm gaining weight and often feel blotted, I'm more anxious than usual (which is not like me) and I have acne now on my face, neck and back. I've done a 180 in 2 mths.
1313343 tn?1274833215 and its YASMIN im talken about YAZ and YASMIN are 2 different birth control pills!
Avatar n tn I have heard about Yaz and Yasmin causing more of a risk for blood clots in women....BUT (yes there is a but) almost all birth control pills can cause blood clots especialy if you have had them before, or have had a family history of them. If your nurse wants you to switch to a genric then you can still take Yasmin (but it would be Ocella). It's the same thing.
Avatar f tn I just recently switched back to Yasmin (what I was taking before the Yaz).. I hope the change helps. .. Did you end up changing BC?
Avatar f tn Any birth control pill, well any birth control that has hormones in it can cause blood clots. But they are normally only risk for those who have a family history of clots, or who have suffered from clots before. I've never been on Yaz and the only birth control pills I have ever taken was/is Yasmin. No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder).
Avatar m tn Be sure to also ask your doctor about the risks of long-term use of the Naproxen simply because it is an NSAID. Also be sure if you choose that option that you get a list of what medications you cannot take while on it as there are some common over-the-counter meds you will want to avoid. But yes, definitely consider your options. There may be other options out there if your only bad symptoms are the cramps.
Avatar n tn I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. I am easily irritated and have had heart palpatations since the second day on this medicine.
Avatar f tn Here is a little something I pulled up while researching yaz problems Yaz and Yasmin are different from other birth control pills available in the United States because they contain drospirenone, a progestin which can increase blood potassium levels and increase the risk of: * Heart Attack * Stroke * Blood Clots: Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) * Gallbladder Problems * Kidney Damage or Kidney Disease * Cardiac Arrhythmias * Sudden Death Call y
Avatar f tn I gain weight very easily usually and struggle to maintain it off, but Yasmin never caused any problems in this respect, I'd say on the contrary. Spironolactone which is used to treat hirsutism or hair loss is a diuretic, and therefore it will actually help you not to retain water (I have this problem). These are the most common approaches and none of these will lead to weight gain.
1761691 tn?1313171747 I want to stop using ortho tricyclin lo and switch to yasmin. I just started ortho a week ago but want to stop because the side effects I cant take anymore. (I have given it 3 months). When can I start Yasmin? Do I have to wait for my period?
Avatar n tn i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?
1051017 tn?1349636853 I have only been taking Yasmin for a few days now however, I seem to be getting some strange side effects. I keep having these short sort of dizzy spells. I don't actually lose conciousness. I just feel as if I'm dreaming for a second or two. Also I do smoke but am currently trying to give up. Since starting Yasmin, the smell of smoke and smoking itself has become nauseating. Thats also another one to add. Nausea and hot flashes. Also I've lost some of my sense of taste.
Avatar m tn I am going through the same thing right now. I have been on Yaz for over a half a year. I'm not sure if it is the Yaz causing it or something else. I dont know of Yaz having that sort of a side effect. Sorry I cant help much.
1152782 tn?1451101426 By Jan 31 my period was 10 days late, in which I had to start Yasmin again. However, my period problem was due to weight gain...about 13 lbs for me. So it could be that the cysts are coming back, because when you have cysts sometimes your periods don't come because the cysts block it. The only true way to find out is to go for an ultrasound...and see from there. Are you sure your not pregnant? Just because you have no symptoms, doesn't mean your not pregnant.
