I have been reading a lot of really horrible things about birth control and I am trying to find out how safe it really is. I am not taking it for the birth control aspect, but for pmdd and acne. I am curious about the effect of decreased sex drive- it's important to me and my relationship, and wondering if EVERYONE has this side effect because of the effects on testosterone and is this a lasting effect even if I were to stop taking it.

Your symptoms are worse than what you started. Yaz, like many other birth control pills will cause side effects, but since they are so popular and have put their name so far out to the public, the company is seen as doing the opposite and worse than other companies.

I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. But they are normally only risk for those who have a family history of clots, or who have suffered from clots before. I've never been on Yaz and the only birth control pills I have ever taken was/is Yasmin. No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

ive been on yaz for almost 3 years and in the last year i have been sick every month for five months right before my period with gastroenteritis which is vomiting for 2 hours with diarrhea and being very dizzy . i also have very bad mood swings anger irritation very easily, cry for no reason and more, not really sure what to do because my doctor hasnt really suggested i go of of it?

You stated your girlfriend is using YAZ as a form of birth control. Are you aware that YAZ can have some serious side effects. The product YAZ has made some women very sick. Tell her to google YAZ and she can see for herself. As far as the odds she is pregnant, and you not using a condom and saying you may have come a little inside, and pulled out 97% of the climax, hopefully not. I wish you well.

s probably not a great idea to go on more hormonal birth control as it can cause more. Birth control is unpredictable as common side effects can be both breast growth or shrinkage. Some people experience no effect on the breasts at all. Larger breasts are not something to risk your health over, and honestly, if there's an underlying self-image issue behind you wanting the larger breasts, it needs to be addressed as simply growing larger is not going to deal with that.

Talk to your doctor on how you should just switch because you just don't want to switch and then something happen. All birth controls are different for people, and this sounds like Yaz isn't right for you.

What all side effects should I expect on Yaz birth control pills, I have been taking it for 1 month and so far I have been having extremely sore breasts, is this very common?

In my case, it strictly occurs when I take certain birth control pills (Yaz, Diane35) but not with others (Alesse). Also, it appears within 24 hours of taking the first pill, persisting until 24 hours after the last birthcontrol pill and disappears as soon as I am not taking the birth control pills.
