Common Questions and Answers about Yaz side effects gall bladder

yaz

Avatar f tn I haven't been on hormonal bc for years now. I'm 29 with a 4 year old son... Im scheduled for gall bladder removal next month. I have done tons of research on gall bladders and it seems like gall stones which are more prevalent in women are linked to hormones. They are very common in times of hormonal surges such as pregnancy and during the use of hormonal contraceptives!!
Avatar n tn Yes yaz is awful, I feel lucky I didn't have any of the really serious side effects like blood clots and gall bladder issues. I'm still recovering from being on it though. I'm staying off of birth control pills for now but if/when I go back on the pill it will be low dose. I hope you are doing better!
Avatar n tn ), it prevents pregnancy by providing a steady level of the female hormones estrogen and progestin. However, various side effects of using theses have been reported. It can cause nausea and vaginal inflammation and discharge. In some cases it has been associated with vaginitis and genital infections like candidiasis. However nausea after eating can be due to gall bladder disease or acid reflux also.
Avatar f tn ive been on yaz for almost 3 years and in the last year i have been sick every month for five months right before my period with gastroenteritis which is vomiting for 2 hours with diarrhea and being very dizzy . i also have very bad mood swings anger irritation very easily, cry for no reason and more, not really sure what to do because my doctor hasnt really suggested i go of of it?
Avatar f tn It's definitely a side effect. As soon as I quit taking the PPI, I feel normal. Before I figured out what was causing this, I went to my dr and they tested my gall bladder. The test came back that my gall bladder wasn't working properly, so they took it out, which I'm sure was not neccessary, as I've read that Nexium can cause that. So, here I am, feeling the same, and nothing helps.
Avatar n tn I was on Yaz birth control and just recently stopped taking that tyo see if it could be related to the gall bladder issues related to Yaz. I had an ultrasound of my gall bladder and it came back normal, all bloodwork (liver, kidneys, tyroid, diabetes, cholesterol, etc.) has come back negative. There is a family history of thyroid, diabetes, chron's, cholitis, diverticulitis, basically enything GI!
Avatar n tn In October, I found out my gall bladder is only functioning 27%. I do not have stones. Up until last week I was not having any symptoms, therefore, did not think surgery was the answer. I had what seemed like heartburn, and now occaisionaly feel full easily. My husband and I would like to try to have a baby. My primary care physician said it is a roll of the dice if my gall bladder will get worse during pregnancy. Should I have surgery before trying to get pregnant?
Avatar n tn Other side-effects may lead to irreversible loss in kidney and liver capacity. Specific side-effects on the gall bladder are uncommon. The thickening of the gall bladder may not even be the primary problem in this case, as a condition that would produce weight loss, sleep loss, aches and pains, may also be causing stress on the gall bladder. Discuss your concerns with your doctor, a second opinion may also be helpful.
Avatar f tn My doctor referred me to surgery due one mobile stone and ejection fraction of 27%, per Hida Scan. Up to now I haven't been symptomatic like I have read other people have meaning gall bladder attacks with extreme pain. I have had dull ache in my R side ,burning in my stomach burping and dull ache on my back . I have done research and quite frankly I 'm afraid of the surgery outcome, side effects and pain.
Avatar f tn Since Dec. 29th, I have been experiencing pain in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen. The pain extends around my ribcage and goes straight up the right side of my back, to my shoulder blades. The pain sharpens after meals that are particularly fatty or greasy. I've also experienced nausea (though no vomiting) & constipation (though my GP claims that my pain killers are the cause of that).
Avatar n tn I have been told I need to have my gall bladder removed because it is 'chockablock' full of tiny sandlike stones.. I am 65, overweight, but haven't ever had any symptoms that would justify the removal. The state of the gall bladder was discovered when an ecograph was made for something else. Would you say this is really a necessary operation - or should I follow my instinct and leave things as they are?

Avatar f tn t stop, and today I had a yellow appearing stool, very loose,,,I am wondering if Metformin is causing this,,,I also took a glass of water with apple cider vinegar last night, cause I heard that helped lower blood sugar,,,I have also had my gall bladder removed,,,any correlations here at all?
1926753 tn?1322970598 Yes it does. I haven't looked it up, but you should GOOGLE "side effects from gall bladder removal." I'm sorry you are experiencing this honey, not everyone without a gall bladder does, but the majority do. Best of luck to you and many blessings.
Avatar f tn I have all the symptom of gall bladder problems, but all my pain is on my left side. Could it be my gall bladder or is it something else. Thank you Lori16 This discussion is related to Gall Bladder? Liver? Muscle? Rib? Please help!!!!!.
Avatar n tn Her HIDA Scan ejection fraction was within a normal range, but she opted to remove her gall bladder. Fortunately, the gall bladder turned out to be diseased and her nausea was totally cured. Can the culprit be the gall bladder even though the tests are negative? Are there other tests to more conclusively rule out the gall bladder? What else could be causing the nausea? What can I do next? Thanx in advance!
1930941 tn?1400107522 Sounds like gall bladder to me....I suffered from that, bloating, along with occasional nausea (which came on about 6 hours after eating).....There is a test for the gall bladder to see if it is functioning. My gall bladder was "inflamed" and only functioning a small portion of what was normal....Won't hurt to get a checkup.....the liver is in that area as well, so you should check it out.
Avatar m tn Recently in USG there is one 7-8 mm Gall stone observed in Gall bladder. The is intermittent pain at right side end of the Rib.ALSO SOME TIME LOWERBACK PAIN RADIATING TOWARDS SHOULDER AT RIGHT SIDE. Consultancy with gastroeneterolgist reveal that surgery is required. Please suggest any alternate treatment available if any. Also in my case the side effect of not dong surgery or after surgery. Please advise also any booster dose required for my family.
Avatar f tn Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Regards.
Avatar n tn I believe these are just side effects of the pill. I never experienced them myself but my sister experienced both increased hunger and tenderness of her breast on both the pill and the shot.
Avatar f tn Dx GERD 2000 been on Prilosec since. No real issues. Family history 2 gall bladder removals aunt and uncle. Father suffered with similar but would not go to doctor... Since colonoscopy... About 20-1 hour after food, severe pain in low stomach area, gripping pain, with burning, bloated after a couple of bites of food, right upper quadrant pain extends under rib cage and around to mid back. Can not get comfortable, sleep on left side elevated, no episodes of GERD.
Avatar m tn I have has right side pain that started about 6 years ago right under my ribcage about where the gall bladder is. It was constant but pretty local to a small area. Over the years it has grown to all over the upper right side at times. Front to back but mostly on the front. I have noticed also now I burp more and of late seem to get more indigestion. I have seen 3 gastrolgists and had every test you they could recommend except a liver core which the doctors don't want to do.
