Yaz migraines

Common Questions and Answers about Yaz migraines

yaz

I have been using yaz for about four months now and I am extremely pissed off at the side effects and changes it has made to my body. The first two months were ok, ecept for the two0three migraines I would get all of a sudden, some in which were treated only by going to the ER and having shots to reduce the pain. Then followed constipation, headaches, backaches and anxiety that in the current month (fourth pack) has increased to panic attacks. I am having to take 0.
Hi. I'm 36 years old and i had a baby 11 months ago. Today my OBGYN put me on Yaz. I am concerned becuase my period was over a week aga and she said its ok to start now. How do I do that? Plus i have migraines and afraid of weight gain. Any ideas??
now my doctor wants to put me on birth control, which what ever, nothing else has worked why not try it again. But my concern is the type of birth control that it is. YAZ!!! I have done very little research about it but what I have found shows that there are more people out there that have negative things to say about it. I have heard people talk about migranes(sorry for spelling) blood clots kidney failrue, which really scares me and horrible moodswings.
Hi, I'm 46 had migraines that I think we're caused by taking Yasmin/Yaz birth control for endometriosis, had a parial hysterectomy (only 1 ovary left) and the migraines went away for the most part. Have had a few bouts with benign positional vertigo over the years. Suddenly at the end of December I got so dizzy I could barely walk and was completely nauseated. Saw my neuro and he says it looks like my migraines have changed to be vertiginous migraines.
They suggested that I have vertigo migraines. I did take myself off of my birth control (Yaz) that I was on for about 2 years. Just starting now, I'm starting to feel a bit better. I've read online about being hormonally imbalanced--i have all the symptoms: dizzy, anxious, difficulty sleeping, night sweats, sudden waking up and feeling dizzy...like i have loss of breath. I have an appointment with Gyno so hopefully she can confirm some of this.
I am a 46 year old female whos had migraines all my life. They run on my dads side of the family. They started in high school and I have been able to manage them but lately they have become debilitating. I changed birth control pills in October 2007 from Orthonovum to Yaz. I had been on Orthonovum for 20 plus years. The YAZ helped the PMS symptoms I was having really well but I would get terrible headaches at the beginning or end of my cycle.

I have been on yaz for four months now, at first it was great, then I had severe migraines, extremely hungry all the time, constipation, irregular bleeding, spotting, and then it lead to anxiety, to where I started having panic attacks. My doctor thinks it's something else, but I have never had any of these problems until I started this bc. I honestly feel it is YAZ. This is the last pack I am using. If anyone has quit using yaz, any advice on what to expect would be greatly appreciated!
I have combination migraines with daily cluster headaches. I have tried many treatments, but Topamax is the one that works best. Due to a recent flare-up in my headaches, I am taking this prescription again after 5 years of being off it. I am currently taking 25mg at night. I have only been taking it for one week, but I've begun spotting. I am also taking YAZ oral contraceptive. I have converns - is this an indication that my oral contraceptive is not working?
Interestingly enough, I had a couple this summer (hadn't been on the pill in years). I started the pill (Yaz) this Jan. and now the migraines have really increased in frequency. I stopped the pill last night to see if they at least decrease in frequency. Does any research support an increase/onset of migraines with taking the pill? I am very tired of the migraines! Thank you in advance for any insight! PS...
Hello. I was on Yaz for about 5 months and in mid march (2 months ago) i decided to go off of it because of the crazy side effects! i got my first non pill period somewhat on time and now im waiting for my second period but it is almost a week late. i highly doubt im pregnant because i always use condoms with my bf. I am kinda worried anyways though but i just wanted to know if it was normal or not?
My 16 yr old daughter has been suffering from abdominal migraines (sometimes referred to as cyclic vomiting) since she was 11 yrs old. Every 3 months to the week she starts an episode in which she will have minor migraine symptoms such as headache, tunnel vision, dizziness...within 2-3 days she progresses to an abdominal migraine. She will be fine and then the next thing she eats or drinks she vomits, from then on everything she tries to ingest she vomits.
I have found that when I was on it, I got very emotional easily, didnt want to get out of bed somedays, and I would be angry at such little things, I would also have migraines almost 3-5 times a week (the reason why I went off). I just stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago, and now for a week my stomach feels like im going to be sick, but Im never sick. Im not as hungry. And I've gained weight quickly. breakouts. I didnt think that there would be any side effects for going off of it.
Burning, twitching this week. Migraines decreasing so far when off Yaz birth control pill (so far...). Having PVCs with no anxiety, no trouble sleeping. Strange! Why symptoms of anxiety, with no anxiety? Perhaps it is a delayed reaction to my trip home for mother's day, which was stressful due to a sick granny and mother.
I'd do your research and talk it over with your doctor. I can't remember if my friend was on Yaz or Yasmine (both are in commercials, so it's hard to remember), and she had some pretty scary stuff happen after getting off it.
The only time I have had very little acne was in 2007-2008 because I was on Yaz. Yaz gave me horrible migraines to the point where I wasn't able to function and had to make several trips to the hospital. I eventually had to go off of it because I'm in law school and the migraines were contributing to my poor performance in my classes. I've tried so many drugs for my acne and I just don't know what else to try. Yaz seemed to be the only thing to help me.
I have been taking Yaz for 3 years, but due to the recent info on it having higher chances of blood clots, I was changed over to Mircette. The good news is I have not had many major side effects, except for one: Headaches. This was at first very slight and barely noticeable, but now they are bordering on migraines. These are also over my entire head - sometimes even migrating around during the day (such as on my temple, then the side or back of my head).
as for the Yasmin, it gave me horrible migraines and I kept on vomiting every time I took it. if ur sure about the Yasmin pills then I'd recommend that u wait until u finish ur ortho first to avoid unnecessary bleeding. Good luck!
Week ago I spotted red blood with clots - this lasted for two days, now back to dark brown discharge. I went off the pill Yaz in October last year as this was causing migraines. Once i was off the pill my period stopped and only came back this month in the new year. While having this light brown period I have had no period cramps at all, slight breast sensitivity-now there is none. Can someone please give me an idea on what this is & any suggestions. Im 24 years old. Thank you!!
At this time I was told to go to continuous cycling of Yaz to prevent migraines. Had annual completed 2/09...requested thryoid testing due to my own research and a family history of hypothyroid. Results: TSH - 2.42 and FT4 0.64. Told these were normal and despite symptoms my thyroid is functioning normally. Asked for referral to endocrinologist - told me my symptoms are "non-specific" - might be thyroid related but will not consider treatment unless TSH > 3.0...
I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.
Just wanted to post an update. My cycle did finally start on day 53 or day 9 AFTER my 10 days of Provera. I am now taking Clomid 50 mg on days 5-9. This is my first time taking the Clomid and so far I've only experienced some mild cramping and mild headaches. Thank goodness. I have a history of severe migraines. Which I have noticed have decreased since my new GYN agreed to take me off the Yaz. In fact, I have even been able to stop taking Topamax.
I have had to periods but asked my OB/GYN to take me off the Yaz because it also caused breast pain and I developed migraines associated with my period. Prior to then, I had been taken off Ortho-Tri Cyclen Lo due to severe breast pain for about a year. My periods had been regular until 9/07. I had a pelvic u/s which revealed nabothian cysts. Do these cysts have anything to due with amenorrhea? I am currently at 217 pounds and have lost close to 18 pounds.
I am also on Yaz now and of course I still get migraines, maybee they are even worst. Should I Stop taking them?
i have used the nuva ring, ortho-lo, and the last pill i was on was yaz. yaz was the limit for me! the migraines made me have to go on FMLA at work. the month i stopped them, never had a headache again. i just dont know of any pills that would help ur breast tenderness. i hate it for u, living with any kind of pain, on a daily basis is maddening! good luck to you...!

I have been having migraines headaches more severe after withdrawing from birth control (nuva ring). I dont know if you have worser syptoms after the use of birth control. I also have anxiety too. I was wondering that by me getting off birth control will i feel worser for awhile for my body to get adjusted that their is no birth contol. i stop birth control because i felt that it was bringing on headaches and anxiety. i have never had anxiety in my life.
Hello. Ive been on Yaz birthcontrol for 10 months now, and for the past couple I've really wanted off for good. I was put on the pill for what my doctor thought was a hormonal imbalance that gave me constant headaches/migraines. For the first two months, everything was great-no headaches and no side effects. Slowly, my headaches began to return and i started to get what I think are side effects that have only gotten worse the longer I took the pill.
I take multi vitamines every day for the last 10 years. I did not have any symptomes before taking the YAZ pill. I stoped after 1 year. This may have caused some symptoms. With the pill, Vitamins E, B's and C are lacking. With this, I compensate, and I still suffer these unknown symptoms! I ask myself, "maybe it is related to your accident from 20 years ago! Or Mabey the Pill? Let me know.
