Common Questions and Answers about Yaz migraines

yaz

280418 tn?1306325910 t been on the pill in years). I started the pill (Yaz) this Jan. and now the migraines have really increased in frequency. I stopped the pill last night to see if they at least decrease in frequency. Does any research support an increase/onset of migraines with taking the pill? I am very tired of the migraines! Thank you in advance for any insight! PS...
397977 tn?1201264847 I am a 46 year old female whos had migraines all my life. They run on my dads side of the family. They started in high school and I have been able to manage them but lately they have become debilitating. I changed birth control pills in October 2007 from Orthonovum to Yaz. I had been on Orthonovum for 20 plus years. The YAZ helped the PMS symptoms I was having really well but I would get terrible headaches at the beginning or end of my cycle.
Avatar n tn I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.
Avatar f tn Just wanted to post an update. My cycle did finally start on day 53 or day 9 AFTER my 10 days of Provera. I am now taking Clomid 50 mg on days 5-9. This is my first time taking the Clomid and so far I've only experienced some mild cramping and mild headaches. Thank goodness. I have a history of severe migraines. Which I have noticed have decreased since my new GYN agreed to take me off the Yaz. In fact, I have even been able to stop taking Topamax.
Avatar f tn now my doctor wants to put me on birth control, which what ever, nothing else has worked why not try it again. But my concern is the type of birth control that it is. YAZ!!! I have done very little research about it but what I have found shows that there are more people out there that have negative things to say about it. I have heard people talk about migranes(sorry for spelling) blood clots kidney failrue, which really scares me and horrible moodswings.
Avatar f tn I've been taking birth control for about four years, maybe take a few months. I'd do your research and talk it over with your doctor. I can't remember if my friend was on Yaz or Yasmine (both are in commercials, so it's hard to remember), and she had some pretty scary stuff happen after getting off it.
2003235 tn?1327573387 Week ago I spotted red blood with clots - this lasted for two days, now back to dark brown discharge. I went off the pill Yaz in October last year as this was causing migraines. Once i was off the pill my period stopped and only came back this month in the new year. While having this light brown period I have had no period cramps at all, slight breast sensitivity-now there is none. Can someone please give me an idea on what this is & any suggestions. Im 24 years old. Thank you!!
1761691 tn?1313171747 as for the Yasmin, it gave me horrible migraines and I kept on vomiting every time I took it. if ur sure about the Yasmin pills then I'd recommend that u wait until u finish ur ortho first to avoid unnecessary bleeding. Good luck!
Avatar n tn ve had MRIs, CT scans and blood work done along with inner ear testing (to rule out vestibular vertigo) and everything comes back clear. They suggested that I have vertigo migraines. I did take myself off of my birth control (Yaz) that I was on for about 2 years. Just starting now, I'm starting to feel a bit better. I've read online about being hormonally imbalanced--i have all the symptoms: dizzy, anxious, difficulty sleeping, night sweats, sudden waking up and feeling dizzy...

Avatar f tn I am also on Yaz now and of course I still get migraines, maybee they are even worst. Should I Stop taking them?
Avatar f tn Hello. I was on Yaz for about 5 months and in mid march (2 months ago) i decided to go off of it because of the crazy side effects! i got my first non pill period somewhat on time and now im waiting for my second period but it is almost a week late. i highly doubt im pregnant because i always use condoms with my bf. I am kinda worried anyways though but i just wanted to know if it was normal or not?
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a few questions. For a few months now, I've experienced extreme fatigue, hunger, and possibly thirst. The fatigue is bad, but it could be contributed to a new medicine I've started on (Periactin)? Most nights I get home from school and crash in bed until 1 am. Then go back to sleep. Last night, I was extremely tired. I fell asleep in a chair at 5 pm, woke up at 6:30 pm to eat dinner, then went straight to bed and crashed until 11 am the next morning.
Avatar f tn I use Yaz birth control, and I start a new pack every fourth Tuesday. Last Monday (September 20th) I started my period, and it finished on Thursday. This past Monday (the 27th) I started missing pills. I missed Monday's, Tuesday's, and Wednesday's, and today is Thursday the 30th. Upon freaking out, I took two pills -- Monday's and Tuesday's. I plan on taking Wednesday's and Thursday's tomorrow, and Friday's and Saturday's on Saturday. Is that right?
Avatar f tn I did not have any symptomes before taking the YAZ pill. I stoped after 1 year. This may have caused some symptoms. With the pill, Vitamins E, B's and C are lacking. With this, I compensate, and I still suffer these unknown symptoms! I ask myself, "maybe it is related to your accident from 20 years ago! Or Mabey the Pill? Let me know.
Avatar f tn October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only) November 10 - Period came November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack) November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding Nov19- 27 light bleeding Nov 28 bleeding gone I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.
Avatar m tn If you asking on behalf of a female contemplating the use of the contraceptive product called YAZ or already using YAZ, please tell her that YAZ has been found to be a questionable product for birth control. By questionable , this is what I mean. I have seen commercials where lawyers are telling women who have used YAZ and have suffered severe side effects from using YAZ that they are entitled to a settlement. I conclude that the product YAZ can , in some cases, cause severe side effects.
Avatar f tn I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.
Avatar n tn Hello, new to the board here :) Hopefully, I can get some new insight from everyone. Here's the long version! I am 28 years old, and I've had recurring, painful cysts for about 2 years with a family history of cysts (my aunt literally had a 40 something pound ovarian cyst). I didn't have my first cyst until after an appendectomy. I was quite healthy up until the appendectomy, actually. (In addition to the cysts, I also got pneumonia and various other colds for 4 months straight).
Avatar f tn Alright so i have been taking yaz since october. I havent had any problems with it. ive always started my period when it said i should and lasts only 3 or 4 days long. But this past time i had sex and now im worried. I started later then i usually do and never done that and my period was really light and its usually heavy and it only lasted 2 days and never done that either. And now 3 days later im spotting brown stuff.
Avatar n tn My wife has had migraines (roughly once a month?) since she was 13-14. At that time she was prescribed birth control to medicate the migraines. This seemed to help marginally. These migraines were severe enough to induce vomiting, sensitivity to light, and put her in bed for hours. Sometime in 2001 her mother was in a car accident and passed away. She was diagnosed with PTSD for short time but was later "released" from seeing her psychologist.
1310992 tn?1274217387 I would stop taking Yaz definately! There is lots of bad things going on with Yaz it could be counteracting with the Prozac also..im surprised the Dr has not took you off! Avatar f tn and went from 101 to 116 lbs. After the first two cycles of being on Yaz, I gained a cup size. I feel bloated ALL the time, and look it too, all through my cycles, and more so when I have my period. Even after lifestyle changes (more exercising, watching calorie intake) it still feels like there's a layer of puffiness and bloating covering my whole body! Anyone have any suggestions?! Help please, this is starting to make me feel miserable.
178590 tn?1294176767 I stopped yaz for a month then started it again. I also had the same symptom after starting yaz again. My doctor change my birth control bill back to Ortho Tri- Cycle Lo this month.
Avatar f tn One minute I am on top of the world with a ton of energy and the next I want to climb in a hole. I started on Yaz birth control about 4 months ago. The last two months my moodiness has been worse than usual. After reading other people's experiences with yaz, I am starting to think my feelings are linked to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. Has anyone experienced similar feelings while taking Yaz?
Avatar m tn I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.
