Yaz for hormonal acne

Common Questions and Answers about Yaz for hormonal acne

yaz

Avatar m tn In my opinion i would wait it out because all the reviews ive read about hormonal acne and not cystic acne have said that it took at least 3 months to clear their skin completely.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Yaz for about 4 months now. I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Avatar f tn I've never been on Yaz, but was on Ortho Cyclen for 5 years and eventually had to have my gallbladder out because it was full of stones. My twin sister is just now having symptoms of gallbladder disease, but she hasn't been on the pill as long as I was. I'm still on it and wondering if it could cause other problems even after the gallbladder is gone.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
118884 tn?1270474779 I haven't had a period for awhile so the Obgyn put me on Yaz and I took that about 5 days because I was having really bad chest pains so I stopped taking it , I did start a period that lasted 8 days that was back in Dec 07 ! I went and seen my regular Dr that put me on Medroxypr Ac 10 mg to help start well I have taken all that and still no periods I did how ever have some cramps but no period!
Avatar n tn I have now stopped the injection and started on the Qlaira contraceptive/birth control pill, which I know is not especially for improving acne as some are (Yaz, Diane 35), but I want to know how likely this change is to help, as i really am at the end of my tether. I'm about a week into my second pack and so far, nothing has changed - for better or worse.
Avatar n tn I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. I am easily irritated and have had heart palpatations since the second day on this medicine.
Avatar f tn Hello there, If I can give women out there an advice it be NOT to take BC Pills! I was on Yasmin for 5 years, unlike others I did not experience physical side effects but it did ruin my marriage since it destroyed my libido, no sex drive at all! I decided to stop it in December of 07, and i have been on the most horrible ride of my life.First the periods were allot in one month or back to back. They would last for about 10 days! and then came the Acne!
Avatar n tn Hi, I have struggled with cystic and chronic acne for over a decade, I'm 24 y/o female. I am beginning my 4th year of using Nexplanon birth control, I had a new one put in Feb 2021. I was prescribed Estradiol to help with excessive bleeding for my periods and when I took it for 10 straight days my face cleared up almost 100% for the first time in 10 years. I was over the moon happy until my gyno said I could not be on Estradiol long term and she would not prescribe me anymore.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been taking Yaz for about two months now, but recently I forgot to take it a few days ago. My friend told me that if I miss a day I can just take two the next day. I did and later on I noticed I was spotting. I did read that it is very common for something like that to happen but for me it seemed like i was having my period. I wanted it to stop so I decided I was going to stop taking it.
Avatar f tn I took Yaz for 1 month then i stopped coz of the breast tenderness. Could have it been better in the succeeding months if taken continuously?
Avatar f tn I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I was on Junel 1/20 for a couple of years, then went on Yaz for a month last April (I was living in Germany and the doctor ok'd it, even with my questions about health concerns). After going off Yaz, I have never had my period again and hadn't had it before that since February. I (stupidly) did not really think it was an issue until right around Christmas when my mother said I should get it checked out.
1973052 tn?1332868276 Good luck hun... I'm also on Yaz and it seems as if it did little to nothing wrt the cysts. I've been taking the Yaz since start January '12 and all went well for 2 months before the old, irritating, familiar pains were back.
Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Thanks, yea I am going to make an appointment w/ my doctor to see what I should do and maybe see if I should get back on the pill...you said you continued getting acne for 4 months after getting of the pill? Ugh...that's a long time...right now I would say this is my 1st month since I barely started breaking out really bad about 3 weeks ago but now my acne has basically spread ALL over my face except on my chin and my nose.
Avatar n tn m on my period it increased it by 3 days, with horrible cramping. Yaz was the strangest for me though. My hormones were very much out of wack, and had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever! I would not recommend it. I have had several friends (4) try Yaz as well and had many problems. Hopefully you have called a doctor about your rash though. I've not heard of anyone breaking out in rashes.
Avatar f tn I have dedicated a website for women who are currently or previously taken Yaz Birth Control. This is a support group for women to see the pro's and con's of taking this prescription. Please take a moment to view YazForum ******* and post a comment of your experience while taking Yaz. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I have been on Yaz for almost two months now. I haven't missed any pills but I did have stomach flu within the first three days of starting my first pack. I didn't see the pill in my vomit and continued to take them in the mornings like I usually do. The time I take my pill is within fifteen minutes on weekdays and about 2-3 hours later on weekends. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex 4 times about halfway through my 2nd pack of Yaz. He did not finish inside of me.
Avatar f tn If you've had blood clots on Yaz, it's probably not a great idea to go on more hormonal birth control as it can cause more. Birth control is unpredictable as common side effects can be both breast growth or shrinkage. Some people experience no effect on the breasts at all.
Avatar m tn I am going through the same thing right now. I have been on Yaz for over a half a year. I'm not sure if it is the Yaz causing it or something else. I dont know of Yaz having that sort of a side effect. Sorry I cant help much.
Avatar f tn Several years ago, I went on Lexapro 10mg and in therapy for about a year. I was on it for 5+ years and was doing great. I went off of Lexapro and did great for over a year. My anxiety started to creep back in periodically, but I worked through it. I was on the bc pill Aleese at the time I went off of Lexapro and still did ok, but I did get more anxiety around my period.
Avatar f tn So last night my boyfriend and I had sex and he came in me. I'm on birth control for moderate acne. Please tell me my bc Will work to prevent pregnancy too. I'm worried I might have a low dosage of yaz birth control and it won't help. And I am supposed to be ovulating now. Please help me.
Avatar n tn Most commonly prescribed antibiotics will not interfere with the efficacy of hormonal birth control pills. One exception is rifampin, a drug used to treat tuberculosis.
894078 tn?1241473989 Over the last 6 months, I have changed birth control brands 5 times, and also was on Tramadol for 2 months. I know the tramadol made me slightly nauseous. But I took Yaz before tramadol, and the most severe nausea started before starting Tramadol. I've been off of Tramadol for 17 days, and off of any birth control for 22 days. Yet I still have nausea as intense as it was when it started in February. I can only nibble slowly, and sip water slowly, or the urge to vomit arises.
