Yaz and weight gain loss

Common Questions and Answers about Yaz and weight gain loss

yaz

Avatar n tn I never considered mirena, or, any iud for that matter, could cause weight gain because it does not go into the blood stream. Before this i was using Yaz and was steadily loosing weight on a good eating and exercise plan. I just went today, day 11 and had it removed. Does anyone know how long it will take to loose this weight? I can't believe the amount of weight i have gained in 10 days!! Any suggestions would be great!
Avatar f tn Causes of secondary amenorrhea include stress and anxiety, malnutrition, depression, overexercising, sudden weight loss or gain (obesity),thyroid disorders and hormonal imbalance due to polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS).Smoking is also associated with secondary amenorrhea. Sometimes tumors of the ovaries and brain may also cause absence of menstruation. You should consult gynecologist for internal examination and other tests needed to detect it's cause.

Avatar m tn I have also continued to gain weight despite working out more than I ever have before and becoming a vegetarian and watching what I eat constantly. I carry the weight around my waist, something that was not so pronounced before Sronyx.
Avatar f tn m on the medication to, trying to feel it out for my first month. Keep me posted on updates on Yaz and God bless!
Avatar f tn Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill. The only thing that I have done probably incorrectly with pill use is only a couple of times I took it maybe an hour and a half/two hours late. I’ve spotted quite often- not as badly as before.
Avatar f tn I have been taking YAZ for about nine months and have recently decided to go off birth control all together. I stopped taking the pills about three weeks ago and I have been bleeding on and off ever since. I'm wondering if this is normal and will go away or if I should start taking the pills again, or maybe switch to a different birth control. I'm also concerned because I don't want to start a new birth control routine and gain more weight. What should I do!? Please help!
Avatar n tn i was on the yaz and i didnt gain weight i actually lost weight!! but i had got prego on it! so now i with the mirena ! i beleive if you find yourself craving then just control it and eat healthy meals 3x a day and snack healthy 2x a day and excersise 3-4 time a week you should be fine!
869854 tn?1239978206 I feel hopeless so she mentioned that studies have shown the pill and also anxiety and depression meds can help the hormonal changes and regulate my moods and newly changing menstural cycle. I was so looking forward to turning 40 up until 5 months ago when my mood just shifted.
Avatar f tn I have been on Yaz for over a year and haven't had a period and hope to not have another one! :) It is very healthy not to have a period due to contraceptives such as these. I was on the Depo shot for 16 years and never had a period during that entire time! I had to stop that because it was causing a little bone-loss, however, with many calcium supplements that is now back to normal. I am a super healthy 35 year old. I have a child.
Avatar f tn I went off Yaz and started to notice weight gain after a few months, in about 2 years I gained a little over 40 lbs. I am absolutely miserable. I've tried dieting, exercising, and nothing has happened. I don't fit into any clothes, I hate my body and I have no idea what else to do. I had my hormone levels tested and my testosterone is a little high (45pg/ml).
Avatar m tn Then I got back on it a year later, and started having major signs of depression, weight gain, and just a change in my hormones. I use to be the bubbliest happiest person in the world before I started taking this pill. Now I find myself majorly depressed, and have been gaining weight. I am also, tired all the time. Before I started taking the pill, I use to have so much energy. I know that I am not the same person as I was before I started taking this pill.
1416408 tn?1282230588 It depends how your body reacts to it. I can't handle hormones and estrogen so when I tried yaz and mirena (the iud) I gained weight. I'm on the progesterone only pill and have lost 25 lbs.
Avatar n tn A year a ago I was on a pill and I thought that my anxiety and weight was an issue so I changed to the Yaz combined pill. My anxiety and weight haven't changed. I have never had trouble with weight until this past 2 years and although I am watching what I eat and exercise 3 times a week nothings is working. I also get extremely lethargic the week before my period and this has been since my last child 10 years ago. Is there any pill out there that will help?
Avatar f tn From anxiety to gaining weight, I actually experienced hair loss, white spots on my skin and countless other issues. I personally would not recommend Yaz to anyone, but it all depends on your body. I hope it works out for you though, good luck.
Avatar f tn I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate. Good luck.
Avatar n tn got way longer on it- I used to only bleed for 4 days on Aleese, then gradually this increased and due to weight gain and water retention switched to Yasmin...well after a year on that I was bleeding for 8 to 9 days (still bleeding even while taking the 'active' pills) also I started getting cramps and what not and my dr kept saying that should not be happening since you only have a withdrawal bleed...
Avatar n tn @becca2232 I think when I was pregnant with my son I gain 40 or 45 lbs....they said that she is gaining weight...

Sometimes tumors of the ovaries and brain may also cause absence of menstruation. Most likely this is due to hormonal imbalance in your case. However other causes need to be ruled out.
Avatar f tn You're fine. My husband's friends girlfriend is 14weeks with twins and she's losing weight. And I've lost weight a few times.
Avatar f tn Yep it's normal I'm 36 weeks and 6 days and Ive been losing weight here and there during my whole third trimester ill lose like 3-4 pounds but I'll gain it right back and lose it again
Avatar n tn ) good luck with baby number 2!
Avatar f tn For the past two months, a week after my period, I have been getting brown spotting. The night before the spotting occurs I get headaches and feel sick. I take my birth control (YAZ) as directed and I have been on it for about a year and a half. The spooting only last about a day or two, but I have never had it do this before. Is this normal? I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Yaz also, should I change birth control?
