Yaz and irregular bleeding

Common Questions and Answers about Yaz and irregular bleeding

yaz

Avatar m tn I am 22 years old. I have always had irregular and intense (severe cramps, bleeding, mood swings) periods. I have tried several types of birth control to help with this and of course they do regulate the periods, but they are never less intense and the other side effects of the pill (nausea, weight gain, constant mood swings) are always so severe that I honestly would rather just have the irregular periods.
484167 tn?1210001396 ok i need some help here...i was on yaz for about 10 months when my periods started going hay-wire...like i would get a period in the middle of my cycle and not get my period while taking the"reminder pills"...my dr. gave me yasmin since i guess the level of estrogen is a little stronger...i have been taking it for over a week...i feel pregnant. my body feels just like it did when i was pregnant and i don't remember feeling this way at all when i started the yaz almost a year ago.
405998 tn?1222396217 t know about using Yaz to shrink cysts, but I was on Yaz for years until I eventually had breakthrough bleeding and had to stop. Yaz was the only birth control pills that didn't make me feel crazy from mood swings or depression. I see those lawyer ads on TV also, but I really liked Yaz.
Avatar n tn Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it.
Avatar f tn Doc, which is better and with less side effects, Yaz or Althea? I had breast tenderness issues with Yaz, but the doc said this could also happen with Althea. I have irregular menstruation.
Avatar n tn A year a ago I was on a pill and I thought that my anxiety and weight was an issue so I changed to the Yaz combined pill. My anxiety and weight haven't changed. I have never had trouble with weight until this past 2 years and although I am watching what I eat and exercise 3 times a week nothings is working. I also get extremely lethargic the week before my period and this has been since my last child 10 years ago. Is there any pill out there that will help?
Avatar f tn Hey guys! It's Danielle and I stopped taking Yaz about two months ago, and I feel fantastic. The weight is going away slowly but surely, and my periods, although slightly irregular, have been better. I'm a bit more moody than before, Yaz always made me feel PMS when I shouldn't have though. Getting off the Yaz was the best thing I could have done!
963403 tn?1247176873 It is normal to have irregular spotting between periods, especially when you're new to the pill. The pill also makes your periods much lighter, because what the drug does is thin out your uterine lining. The thinner the lining, the lighter your period will be when it sheds. (That's what a period is-- the blood is what lines your uterus every month.
1541697 tn?1302581951 I don't believe I have I wet to the OB/GYN and she took quiet a few blood tests and she said I was normal with every single one. So she may have tested for that..
Avatar f tn I AM NOW SEEING ALOT OF LAWSUITS BEING ADVERTISED FOR YAZ....SIDEEFFECTS BEING BLOOD CLOTS, PULMONARY ISSUES AND SO ON ....HAS ANYONE HAD ISSUES WITH YAZ AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT....WHAT CAN I ALSO DO FOR THE MOODS...ANY SUGGESTIONS...
Avatar n tn I stopped taking YAZ about two months ago. I have had unprotected sex right after stopping the pill and a few more times after that. I am now almost two weeks late on my period. I have taken 6 home pregnancy tests and all were negative. I followed the directions to the T. I have also taken a blood pregnancy test, but am still waiting for the call back from the doctor. What I was wondering is whether or not YAZ can cause pregnancy symptoms after stopping them two months ago?
Avatar m tn m unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?
Avatar f tn I have been on a small dose of Yaz since October. It was given to me to regulate my very irregular (and often absent) periods. At the end of May (on the 18th), I had surgery on my stomach and stopped taking the Yaz. I had been forgetting to take them all month, and had a very light period right before the surgery. Anyway, come June, I got my period in the middle of the month, like on the 14th, which was weird considering my periods usually come at the end of the month.
Avatar n tn I apologize up front if this is in the wrong place or if someone has already asked about this. I'm just scared after reading some stuff... I have kind of been on my period for about 2 1/2 weeks, except the last week and a half have been spotting. I've been on Yaz for over a year now...for an ovarian cyst....and this is very unusual. Also, for no explainable reason, my lower back has been killing me the past couple of days. It's absolutely excruciating.
1310992 tn?1274217387 I hope we dont scare you more but you really need to do research on Yaz and give it to your parents and Dr! Good luck sweety and keep us updated please!
Avatar f tn Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill. The only thing that I have done probably incorrectly with pill use is only a couple of times I took it maybe an hour and a half/two hours late. I’ve spotted quite often- not as badly as before.
Avatar f tn Well she said that since I was already spotting some to go ahead and take the Yaz that night. I think now that the bleeding was from the Plan B and realized my period wasn't supposed to start until the following week. But I took the Yaz that night and called my dr. and told them I never got my period. She said to take a pregnancy test, which I did and it came back negative. So I still have not gotten my period. Did I miss it up by taking the Yaz a week before my period?
Avatar n tn i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?
Avatar n tn Last month I got my period but it was pretty light and ended soon, which I thought was normal for yaz. I had sex the night or day after I finished. Now I just finished my whole yaz pack, all the white pills, and no period! Last night i took the last pill, and since I had no period, i took a pregnancy test. It came out negative. But then this morning i had brown discharge. I'm scared it came out negative because it is too early to take it?!
Avatar n tn Has anyone used yaz to treat endometriosis? has any one got pregnant after using it? and also has inflmmation in the uterus?
Avatar n tn I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. I am easily irritated and have had heart palpatations since the second day on this medicine.
Avatar f tn Wow I think that you need to call your doctor again and tell them their route of medication worked for a day and then didn't work and you started bleeding again. This doesn't sound normal by any means and I think it definitely requires some attention from your doctor. I have not heard anything good really about YAZ except that it can help regulate your periods. I hope that you get your answers!
Avatar f tn HI there, please can I get an opinion, I've just came of the YAZ pill 3 months now which I was taking for about 8 months, and period was on time for 2 months since of the pill, this is the 3rd month and I'm 3 days late. I did a test this morning but its negative and my breasts are sore for 1 week now, I have a little discharge this week n some cramps. In the past I was irregular but a doctor helped me balance before going on the pill... what could it be?
869854 tn?1239978206 I feel hopeless so she mentioned that studies have shown the pill and also anxiety and depression meds can help the hormonal changes and regulate my moods and newly changing menstural cycle. I was so looking forward to turning 40 up until 5 months ago when my mood just shifted.
Avatar n tn I did email them about the bleeding and they said it could be Synthroid and told me to take a 1/2 dose, which I have, but nothing has changed. I really don't think it's Synthroid as everything I have read says that it takes a while for Synthroid to start "helping" and it takes a few months for it to affect your menstrual cycle, so I really wouldn't suspect it to make any difference less than a week after starting it. Anybody has any ideas? Thanks.
Avatar f tn m supposed to be starting my period tomorrow and the bleeding is finally tapering off.
Avatar f tn am still very shy about my body and everything, But lately Ive felt bad because the other night after we had sex he noticed I was bleeding a little, and since then I hvent done anything with him, but the bleeding is not because my period I figured it was because he was maybe to rough or something but I didn't feel him being rough but anyways.
1128692 tn?1265143482 I would say to wait a few days to test again and if you experience bad cramping and maybe bleeding, consult your doc ASAP. you can also be having an irregular cycle since you just got off your birth control....keep up the Bding just in case what you feel is Ovulation pain. I wish you the best on your TTC journey!! Baby dust to you!
