I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Have you seen the write up on the YAZ pill and issues people have experienced as Bayer "maker" of YAZ has not kept to their promises in terms of how good this pill is compared to other contraceptives. In a forum on this website there were quite of bit of ladies who told thier stories relating to this pill, headaches, bad acne, heavy mood swings, lot of others. Is Yaz treating u well?
s, that worked perfectly fine before, may be caused by a reaction with the Yaz. I went off Yaz and eventually, they put me on Wellbutrin and Buspar.
Each week I was getting better and better, however, I was getting awful acne. I never had acne even as a teenager. So, I thought, I'll go back on a different bc pill because they help with acne. Big mistake. I should have gone to a dermatologist instead! Within a day I was experiencing the tingling and burning in my neck.

I have currently been off my birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo) for about 3 months and am expericencing the WORST acne of my life. It just recently started this past month, my skin was fine the first 2 months I got off. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing? And if so, did your acne ever clear up once the birth control got out of your system?
I've been on both Yazmin and Yaz (a different version of yazmin). Both have done me no favors. Instead of reducing the days I'm on my period it increased it by 3 days, with horrible cramping. Yaz was the strangest for me though. My hormones were very much out of wack, and had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever! I would not recommend it. I have had several friends (4) try Yaz as well and had many problems. Hopefully you have called a doctor about your rash though.
I have found a lot of information linking gallbladder disease with the BC pill Yaz. I myself have been going through some major health issues since about 2 months after I started taking the pill. Although the pill has cleared my acne and evened out my hormone levels, I've been to several doctors because of a pain in my right side. I've also had my appendix removed because of a misdiagnosis. Now my doctors are convinced that I have to have my gallbladder removed.

I'm on my third month of Yasmin, which I mainly started for acne control. On the whole it's been pretty great. I have no mood swings, emotionally I've been stable and my acne is pretty much normalizing. Since starting Yasmin however, I've experienced two occurrences of vaginal irritation. Each occurrence has lasted 1-2 weeks, during which time I was extremely itchy, irritated and sensitive. Has anyone else experienced this?
So last night my boyfriend and I had sex and he came in me. I'm on birth control for moderate acne. Please tell me my bc Will work to prevent pregnancy too. I'm worried I might have a low dosage of yaz birth control and it won't help. And I am supposed to be ovulating now. Please help me.
After three years on it, I began to suffer from bad chin/jawline and back acne, and was menstruating for two weeks at a time. I have now stopped the injection and started on the Qlaira contraceptive/birth control pill, which I know is not especially for improving acne as some are (Yaz, Diane 35), but I want to know how likely this change is to help, as i really am at the end of my tether. I'm about a week into my second pack and so far, nothing has changed - for better or worse.
ve been off BC for about 3 months now and thought surely it would clear up if it was from hormones. Now after returning to the states, I again have hair loss and continues acne. I'm so over this. This is not normal. Stress is a part of life and I really don't feel super stressed. Why does my hair continue to fall out and why do I have acne when my skin was perfectly clear before. Yes, I would maybe have one or two pimples at a time consistently before but this is a whole new ballpark.
not yasmine so i tried it for a few months. it was horrible. I become very depressed and moody, gained weight, had bad acne, and become very paranoid. I switched to levora which i've been on ever since ( 3yrs). My symptoms all went away once i stopped taking Yaz. I'm not sure if it would take 4 months of your hormones to regulate...or if Yaz could forever damage your hormones. I am not a doctor so i can't tell you whether or not that is normal or common....
I was on Loestrin 1/20 Fe for 2 years and it initially seemed to help the acne, but eventually it got worse. I switched to Estrostep 1/20 for 6 months and it got even worse. Then I switched to Ortho Cyclen in hope that the higher estrogen dosage would help. It has and my face is almost clear after 3 months. However, it has made me gain weight and be bloated all the time. This is not okay, so I definitely need to switch again because I cannot afford to buy all new clothes in the next size up.
It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference. Well, my skin gets hard bumps under the skin which arent pimples and they will form permenant red marks on my face. I also have three spots on my cheeks near my nose that have thickening skin and contu=inuously flake off and turn red and repeat continuously. Nothing seems to help..
Hi, I have struggled with cystic and chronic acne for over a decade, I'm 24 y/o female. I am beginning my 4th year of using Nexplanon birth control, I had a new one put in Feb 2021. I was prescribed Estradiol to help with excessive bleeding for my periods and when I took it for 10 straight days my face cleared up almost 100% for the first time in 10 years. I was over the moon happy until my gyno said I could not be on Estradiol long term and she would not prescribe me anymore.
m not sure what the first one was but I know she switched to Yaz) at the beginning of this month. And let me say that no matter what, we always use a condom, her birth control pill, and I also use the withdrawal method. Now, at the end of the month, she came down with a case of strep throat and had to go on an antibiotic.
