Xyzal with benadryl

Common Questions and Answers about Xyzal with benadryl

xyzal

But the past few days, some hives have started to come back. I have been taking benadryl along with the xyzal as needed. I was wondering if I could take 2 xyzal a day instead o 1. The only other medication that I am on is ortho cyclin birth control. Would I be okay if I took a 5 mg of xyzal early in the morning and then another in the late afternoon? Thanks in advance!
I have been on claritin, clarinex, zyrtec and xyzal. I am continuing with zyrtec now becaue of the cost of xyzal ($200/3mo) due to my healthcare selectively removing antihistamines from the formulary. Xyzal was definitely better for me than any of the others, and I have something more than the standard statement to go with that. Last week I had an allergy test done. RAST/Interdermal type.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroid about 10 years ago. At the time of diagnosis, I had a red rash all over my legs and torso. In time that went away, but over the course of years I've developed a skin condition similar to hives. They appear nearly anywhere, but rarely on my face or scalp. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this? Do you think it is associated with my thyroid? Over the years I've changed laundry detergents, soaps, etc...
I see Dr. (family doc), He gives me Xyzal. I take this and start taking Benadryl and Ibuprofen with it. Does not get better. No rash. Still having trouble sleeping. One week ago: Rash appears in random spots, hips, chest, legs, feet. Dr. (family doc) gives me a steroid cream to put on spots with rash. Rash begins to go away, itching does not. Continue taking Benadryl and Ibuprofen with Xyzal. Still having trouble sleeping. Wake up itching. Current: Sever itching, whole body.
My dr put me on an allergy pill called xyzal which is AMAZING!!! So yeah there are things you can take. Just have to check with the dr. You can always call the er and ask a nurse to advise you.
All of the testing other than allergy has turned out normal. We are treating the allergies with Veramist and Xyzal, but she is not getting any relief. None of the headache meds are working. These headaches are constant with dizziness and sometimes nausea. She has never had this kind of thing before. Could it be a form of diabetes?
At this point, it is happening once to twice a month including swollen lips and tounge. I have tried allegra, zyrtec, claritin and benadryl. It is now lasting 2 to 3 days. Does anyone know anything about something like this? My glands are not swollen. Thanks.
The last five treatments have been with Careimune. I took 5mg Xyzal before the first 5 IVs. I no longer took it after that, and had no ill effects until today. Two hours into the IV I yawned and shivered, and shivered, and it continually increased in intensity until my entire body was involuntarily shaking. I had some breathing difficulty, had to stand up (the nurses did not like that. They were afraid I'd fall).
No one can figure out what it is. I have taken everything from Benadryl, Xyzal, Zrytec, Singulair, Claritin, and Hydroxyzine. Nothing has worked. They have done blood work for lupus and many other blood tests. All came back negative. They have started taking me off one drug at a time, now I am only on Xyzal, Singulair and 2 Hydroxyzine HCL 25 daily. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do or suggest what my doctor may need to test for. The only known allergy I have is fish.
Now, I started Zyrtex tablets instead of Xyzal but I think are useless! I should be speak with my pharmacist and try Benadryl. The inchiness does not happens always. MyBlood Glucose in the morning before eat is: 122 - 128 mg/dL. I should take a second opinion and go for blood tests analysis! Thanks a lot!
Avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid . If the irritation persists then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Treatment can help with symptoms – you sound like you are on a fine regimen of Zyrtec or Xyzal and Benadryl for the itching.
Diagnosis of skin allergies includes Skin ***** tests (pricking the skin with a needle or pin containing a small amount of the allergen ('***** Testing' or 'Scratch Testing'), Patch tests (by applying a patch to the skin, where the patch contains the allergen.)And RAST. Apart from the steroids, take some antihisatminics and vitamin c and apply some calamine lotion. Sometimes the treatment has to be taken for long periods of time.
I am on Doxepin, 50 mg (working up to 75 mg), Allegra (1-2 daily), Xyzal 2 daily (or one Xyzal daily and one Zyrtec when I run out of the extra samples of Xyzal since my insurance company won't cover 2 a day. Zantac (for the anthistamine properties) Singulair (more for the antihistamine than the asthma issues) and Benadryl, as needed when everything else is failing, which is now often.
Tried all the antihistamines which did nothing. Had a little success with Zyflo combined with Predisones, but would still get bad flares and had to deal with all the side effects of the steroids. By pure chance in early 2009 I cam across a dr who was aware of the testing Genetech was doing to get Zolair approved for Urticaria. With some convincing, he was able to get my insurance company to cover it, and since the first shot, my hives went away almost completely within a few days.
after consuming that one dose the child developed rashes on his body.....subsequently we gave him Xyzal(anti-allergen) and the rashes subsided.....the rashes were slightly raised, pale in colour(not red) and were in the form of vertical layers on front chest, abdomen and back.....the pain in the stomach continued and child had difficulty in passing Urine....so on the advice of doctor we gave him Norflox-100.....
She can get some steroid cream if the rashes last for a while (it makes them go away faster) and if she gets itchy, something like Xyzal, Zyrtec or Benadryl works well. The steroid cream and Xyzal are by prescripion...Zyrtec and Benadryl are OTC If she finds she's having a problem with most of the commerical soaps, making her own plant-based, oil soap might be a good option. If she wants more info about that, leave a note on my page and I'll be happy to tell her more. Lots of luck!!
Went on trip from Alaska to Arizona to Seattle and home. First symptom was a swollen bottom lip. Took benadryl and treated with ice. On road trip from Arizona to Seattle developed inner thigh itch. Thought this was due to dry skin (thighs only) 124 degree weather. Got home to Alaska, symptoms started again on return. They start with swollen bottom lip on right side and graduatually move to left side. On August 7th, I also had a hard/numb section on right chin that had a light red tone to it.
In the past 6 months, I have developed hives around ovulation and now every other month around my period I have developed facial swelling, lips swelling, tingling in mouth. I am thinking that I am having hormone allergies. I am on xyzal but can only take a half tablet because of the jitters. Even the half tab doesn't make me feel right. I am now having to carry an epi pen and benadryl just in case.
If they are bite like lesions and spreading then scabies needs to be ruled out. Wash the areas several times with fresh water and do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. Also use mild steroid cream and good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
I have suffered from severe nasal congestion since first few weeks of pregnancy(23 weeks now). My dr has given me the okay to use benadryl, xyzal ( which is an allergy medication), robitussin Dm, and anything tylenol is perfectly fine. I have used afrin as well. This is my fifth pregnancy and i habe had a cold with every one. Ive taken at least one of these at some point. I can tell you my children have all come out healthy. These medications are class b which is completely safe.
the doctor put me on prednisone 10mg and i have only taken 4 tablets so far and i do not feel any relief-is there another med that would work faster? and what is xyzal 5mg?
sweating, pool chlorine, spas, jacuzzis, wajing up with huge hives on my face, arms, back and chest. Then as the day progressed, thighs, knees, legs. I was a mental wreck with scratching and wearing nothing but a loose soft nightgown. I was given steroids and rash/hives went away. Then they came back. I was allergy tested - allergic to everything. I took 5 (or so) different medicines including metheltrexate. That DIDN'T work - nothing did.
My throat and chest tightness does come with hives and itching. I am taking Xyzal and Benadryl for that. I would highly recommend you find yourself an immunologist. Mine is great. I was like you trying to figure out what was causing what and if I was the only one...it is happening to all of us. You just need to continue doing what you're doing, keep asking us veterans questions and we will help you try to shed some light for you. Good luck!
I was diagnostic with anemia like a month ago. Im really scared cause i have never in my life had hives until halloween 2008. At first i thought it was just a rash but then it started going all over my body. My ankles, knees, and elbows were really swollen. They are still kind of itchy, burn, and hurt. I went to the doctor he gave me some pills called xyzal.
I have had all the same symptoms you were explaining. The doctor told me it could have something to do with the allergies in the air and my body is reacting to it. He put me on a medication called methylprednisolone, along with an allergy pill called XYZAL. The medicine defiantly helped what rash there was and the itching, but after finishing the methylprednisolone my body started itching again. I am going to call on monday to see what other options I need to do.
I have had a problem with hives all over my body for a month or more now. My hands start to itch first, then the bottom of my feet, then my scalp even the inside of my mouth itches sometimes. I'm a hairdresser and suspect it could be the chemicals and shampoos and products. Or could this be a food allergy? I take a wonderful antihistamine called xyzal. It works really well but when it wears off I'm in trouble.
evening I carried bales of straw at a horses' stables and the following morning I woke up with around 45 bites on my torso and forearms. The bites had a small white spot in the middle and a circle of red emanating from it and were very itchy. Two days later the redness was not limited to a circle but also 'branched' extended outwards away from the cirlce and gives the impression of a rash. I am told these bites were caused by straw mites that become especially active this time of year.
Antihistimanes don't really work all that effectively, only solving the problem for an hour or two, and ive tried zyrtec, benadryl, XYZAL (oral solution), and cloderm (1% cream). Could my derm be right? Could that cause this? Is there a name for that? What else could be the problem and what could fix it? This has been going on for over 3 months and Im desperate for an answer!
