xyzal

Avatar m tn m pretty sure it was to check for ear pressure. The lady stuck these ear phone like plugs into my ears that were hooked up to a machine while they were making these beeping noises and I just had to sit there and wait it out) and they told me everything seemed perfectly fine. This doctor gave me some more xyzal and prescribed to me some nasonex but I find that its not helping if doing anything at all.
Avatar f tn I lost all vision for less than a second and then was back, but felt like I might pass out for the rest of the day. That feeling has morphed into lightheadedness some days, dizziness, headache, depending on the day, but has been with me almost every day for the past two months. Doctor suggested sinus infection and gave me steroids plus antibiotics. Seemed to get much better with steroids but then came right back.
Avatar m tn Hi, please avoid aspirin, you can take ibuprofen, paracetamol etc. Tinnitus could be due to either middle or inner ear pathology. Treatment depends on type of diagnosis. In case of middle ear infections, antibiotics along with anti histaminics are helpful. In case of inner ear disorder usually hypnotics along with anti cholinergics are prescribed. Your case seem to be of middle ear infection as you have a history of cold.
Avatar n tn Tinnitus occurs with disorders affecting the external, the middle or the inner ear. In the outer ears cerumen impaction or external otitis, in the middle ear fluid collection or disease of the tympanic membrane and in the inner ear damage to the nerve endings can cause tinnitus. As a result of these disorders the external sounds are masked leading to awareness of normal body sounds. Treatment lies in treating the underlying cause.
Avatar n tn Other conditions to be strongly ruled out in your case could be Meniere’s disease of the ear, infection of the middle or inner ear, benign positional vertigo and benign intracranial hypertension. Hence it is important to consult an ENT specialist and a neurologist too. Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into.
Avatar n tn I have been on Xyzal for 5-6 years and had to go off, suddenly, for a week due to allergy testing. I have itched and scratched myself until I have bruises on my legs, arms, and feet! It's absolutely horrible!! :( In response to the other person who replied to you, it's typically NOT an issue to stay on 2nd generation antihistamines, long-term. Nor is it a problem to quit them suddenly EXCEPT (apparently) with Xyzal and Zyrtec (both are Cetirizine-based).
Avatar m tn You're going to think I'm wierd but since my teens, if someone speaks near to my left ear, (even a radio) their voice tone creates an inner ear vibration in my right one which isn't painful but very incomfortable and I have to turn my head to my right ear so it doesn't affect it unless they are speaking on the left side.
Avatar n tn I do not want to cause further worries.Sinus and ear infections may affect the inner ear. Other causes however, may be more benign .Such is the case for benign positional vertigo wherein particular head positions may aggravate the condition. I suggest you seek consult with an ENT specialist for a complete assessment of your condition. Do you have any problems with your vision?
648987 tn?1231201877 Can someone please tell me what works for inner ear infection on a Sunday. I have had this once before, but NEVER had it this bad, the nausea and dizziness are never ending. Okay, it has only been 4 hours, just feels like more. Can't remember what the doc gave me when I had it a couple years ago. Does a decongestant work?
Avatar n tn s ear infections when they are otitis media, because those are usually caused by viruses instead of bacteria. I certainly had my kids on antibiotics for ear infections but new data suggests that was the wrong way to go. Have you tried removing all dairy products?
Avatar f tn After 8 months of constant hives, lip swelling, eye swelling and finger swelling, i went to an allergist and got prescribed Xyzal. It worked great for the first 2 weeks and i was over joyed to have my life back! But the past few days, some hives have started to come back. I have been taking benadryl along with the xyzal as needed. I was wondering if I could take 2 xyzal a day instead o 1. The only other medication that I am on is ortho cyclin birth control.
Avatar f tn I'm confused why this is prescribed for inner ear and vestibular disorders? It must have some kind of effect on the vestibular? Does anyone know what it does for inner ear problems?
Avatar f tn Dear community, I've been trying to find a help for a really long time, I would immensely appreciate any help. My problems started more than 2 years ago, while I was in the US for a year (work related) There I had problems with my nose, i couldn't breathe and it was stuffy all the time. I survived with some kind of special nose spray, which helpes me to just stimulate the pain, I was also taking antibiotics, which helped me to get mucus out but the pain always came back.
Avatar m tn I googled my problem and it seems a lot of people have trouble similar to mine and its the cause of inner ear infection, and from the results I found people did not have a cure for this. I will finally see an ENT in about 2 week but I was wondering if lightheadedness caused my inner ear infection is usually incurable?
Avatar m tn I would rule out anything inner ear going on. Any imaging of your cervical spine done? i.e.

Avatar f tn t already been teste for thyroid issues, it would be a good idea. My allergist put me on 2 xyzal twice a day, which was way to much. I took two doses and was weak, tired and had panic attacks. I also have celiac disease and am trying to figure out if the xyzal is gluten free. I was taking benadryl. I dont do well with any antihistamines. I was taking Benadryl. There is also an injection you can get.
Avatar n tn I have had vertigo because of the inner ear problem two years back. The vertigo has gone after taking medicines for about 3 weeks. I am told that people who have this problem should always see that they sleep turning to the right side or left side keeping the effected ear on top. since then i am sleeping turning my body to left side , keeping my left ear on top. Surpirsingly i did not get vertigo bout in the last one and half years.
Avatar f tn Vertigo is due to a disorder in the vestibular apparatus of the inner ear or a disorder of the brain affecting the vestibular pathways. Vertigo can also be caused by a migraine even if you do not have a headache.
Avatar m tn Antifungal agents and analgesics are prescribed for therapy. Avoid swimming, or water getting into the ear until the fungal infection is fully eradicated. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I have done all kind of tests (blood, urine, MRI, Hepatitis, HIV, and whatever you can think of, except inner ear, which my doctor think my symptoms are not similar to inner ear problems (he says symptoms should be strong dizziness like you can't even walk). I tried Clonazepam occasionally to see if it fixes the problem, but didn't do much.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply. i appreciate it. I still have inner ear pain, accompanied with itching on and off, sometimes in Eustachian tube. I dont think it is ruptured eardrum ,as there has been no drainage att all on my pillows, and when i yawn and lightly blow, my eardrums expand out with the increase in pressure... wouldnt this not happen if there was a hole?
Avatar m tn I am now taking hydrochlorothiazide (both for moderate hight blood pressure and to lower my water levels for the inner ear), and gabapentin for a neck spine condition (unrelated to the vertigo). My PCM states I am "suspect" for Minear's Syndrome but has not made a clinical diagnosis as of yet. Bottom line is I am trying to find a way back to normal. My work requires me to get up into high places (aircraft mechanic) and this condition is keeping me from my work.
Avatar n tn For a few years I have had tinnutis in my left ear. It is an unwavering, very high pitched sound. I have also noticed if I am placing a phone call and hold the phone to my left ear, while the phone is ringing, my eyes (both) vibrate very rapidly. What causes this? Are there tests and/or traetments for this?
