However, my son has been on other medications for sinisitis and bronchitis that could account for a headache. He now off of pulmicort, xopenex and nasonex. He is currently going through allergy testing as well. It is very difficult for me to try to determine the cause of the headache with so much going on with him. He is feeling completely better aside from this headache.
At birth he had pulmonary hypertension unknown etiology and was placed on ECMO for 3 days. We nearly lost him. Long story short, his lungs have been perfectly healthy up until about 2 months ago. He had an acute onset of wheezing, retractions, dry hacking cough. X-ray showed a slight inflitrate. He was treated with antibiotics and was started on pulmacort and xoponex. 3 wks later, he had another episode. Symptoms all the same but this time x-ray showed bronchitis with no infiltrate.
Xopenex 1.25/3 ml . 1 vile every 6 hrs. as needed / Qvar 2 puffs twice a day .
Not able to get a good sputum sample since 2003 .
Lung x-rays clear / Ct scan - some middle lobe scarring & plural thickening .
Drs. say they are doing all they can ?
Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug.
Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
After a week and a half I saw the doctor, was diagnosed with both sinusitis and bronchitis and it appeared my asthma was in control, this was a Friday. (I have had asthma my entire life and at the first signs of a sniffle and some tightness I immediately start a prednisone taper and Xopenex nebulizer). I was prescribed azithromycin and told to continue with my xopenex and prednisone. I also took cough syrup, sudafed and motrin.
Additionally, up until med September I was running 12-18 miles a week. I got Bronchitis and had to take a break. Got a few short runs in and had breathing problems. Mid October I was diagnosed with Asthma (suddenly), now I'm taking Advir too. I am suddenly having reflux and esophageal issues too with dysphagia and pain. Now taking Dexilant 60mg too. Could all this be related to the thyroid medicine? Since it all came on about the same time or just coincidence.
Hunter had Croup again it was his 15th time. He had it for a week. I was giving him Xopenex every 4 hrs and Advair 2 x daily. He was also on a steriod. I didn't see any relief from the steriod this time nor when he had Croup in September.
Hunter had a Pulmonary appointment on Friday. His doctor saw him for 2 hrs and 15 minutes. He even brought in the chief of pulmonary into the room. His PFT was 50-something output then after Xopenex it was 60-something. Scary #'s.
Without coughing, the lungs would fill up with mucous and that is more dangerous as it blocks the airways and sets up the lungs for secondary infections. For most asthmatics night time is when it tends to flare up more. That is why he is coughing more at night. It will take a few days for the steroid to kick in. Just keep up with his treatments and keep an eye on his symptoms. Especially for sever shortness of breath.

Your body is tired from the anxiety, but stimulants make the anxiety worse. You should start exercising. Try sprinting as far as you can and then walking, then sprinting again and then walking. Then do stretching exercises - take your time. Do side bends like a ballerina.
My son was a 24 week micro-preemie. He was intubated for approximately 5 weeks before graduating to bi-pap. He ultimately was able to come home after 100 days and required no supplimental oxygen. After being home for approx. 3 months he developed an inspiratory stridor with some retraction. He has 2 hemanginomas so ENT did upper scope to R/O one in the throat. They saw nothing. He was presented to the ER when his breathsounds worsened and it appeared he was in distress.
Eating raw garlic can help with whatever caused the bronchitis. I had it earlier in pregnancy and feel for you. I ate it in smoothies to help the burn and taste.
Thanks for your response. Are you sure the bronchitis didn't lead to the asthma? If he didn't get the bronchitis, he wouldn't have developed. Asthma.
I'm 33 weeks and have bronchitis. I'm currently taking amoxicillin but need something for the cough. I checked with my doctor and he said plain robitussin. What has any one else taken or home remedies for It to stop (cough)?
My bronchitis generally lasts for about 6 weeks...from the first sign of the yellow phlegm until the last cough.

I have tried antibiotics and coactifed ( cough syrup made of codeine) multiple times...never seems to work...except to constipate me. lol
I went to see an herbalist this time. He suggested to use 5 drops of oregano oil three times a day under my tongue. Tastes awful, burns like crazy...hope it works.
However I have finished my medication and still coughing a lot and had a fever at 37.5 (Which is warm for me, I tend to be 36.7) and today for the first time in a long time I noticed I could not breath, felt like my throat was blocked off. I am constantly coughing and it is driving me insane, I cannot sleep as it wakes me up and my throat is so sore.
Does anybody know what my GP should do next? Or what you would personally do?
Hi, I was diagnosed with bronchitis three years ago. I didn't really have a bad life style but I change what I could. So I go walking most days I've given up dairy and eat lots of food that is good for respiratory such as pineapple, green leafy veggies etc. I do breathing exercise to bring up mucus. I had things under control till i was 12 wks pregnant, I got a chest infection around Sep. and still have it now. I've taken 8 lots of antibiotic's over this time.
can you tell me how long will this be like this Ive been on meds for almost a week and Iam still feeling awful...
