xeloda

Avatar n tn My onco tried me on taxol, and avastin, then xeloda. Neither of these worked. He suggests that I try Jemzar. I have stage IV mestatic breast cancer that has spread to my spine. I was dx in Feb 2002. I have previously been on different chemo.surgery, hormonal.. arimidex, aromosin, fasoldex . and several radiation treatments. I am undecided on doing any more chemo. My cancer , of course , is er/pr positive. Is there any advice on this chemo. or is there another hormonal I could try.
Avatar n tn Since the three drug regimen of Taxol+Cisplatin+5FU would address both the cancers, her doctors have decided to treat her with this regimen. In addition, a three drug regimen would be theorectically superior to a two drug regimen which in turn would be superior to a single drug regimen. This is because each drug has a different mechanism of action and the combination would act synergistically to destroy cancer cells and prevent the development of resistance. All the best!
Avatar m tn I was prescribed oral Xeloda together with infusions of oxiliplatin, but had to discontinue the Xeloda. My body smply could not tolerate the drug and while taking Xeloda I lost more than one pound per day, snd had relentless nausea and terrible pain in my hands and feet. After one three-week cycle my doctor discontinued the Xeloda. I was able to complete treatment with the oxiliplatin. This was in 2004 and I am cancer free today. Ask your mother's doctor for something else.
Avatar f tn will xeloda given alone treat both tumours in chest wall with mestases in liver.
408448 tn?1286883821 Anyone ever use Xeloda pills? It is for colon cancer, but has been used in ovarian too. More for mucinous type. My cancer got pretty active on last treatment.
Avatar f tn 5KGS AT 5FT HEIGHT, WE ARE TREATING THE METS WHICH HAS GONE TO HER LUNGS AND BONES AND LIVER WITH XELODA 1GRAM TWICE A DAY FOR 14 DAYS, AND THEY SCARED US WITH THE SIDE EFFECTS,BUT WE ARE ALSO GIVING HER HOMEOPATHY. Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed with colon Cancer in Feb 2007. He took chemo drug Xeloda and had standard radiation. During a check up in January 2008, tumors were found in his lungs- one in each lung, sizes: 7mm and 13mm. He took chemo: Folfox, Avastin, Oxaliplatin, and Xeloda until April 2008. The April CT scan revealed that the tumors had grown slightly and that there were four more small nodules visable.
Avatar m tn My father had a tumor removed from his colon 8 months ago that had broke through the wall of his colon. He went through 6 months of chemotherapy and 2 months after his chemo regimen ended he developed Malignant Ascites in his peritoneal cavity. The doctors have said that his cancer has spread to the peritoneal cavity and this is causing the build of of Ascites. He had had the fluid removed through parecentesis several times but it just keeps coming back.
Avatar f tn ya...but it seems mom has two different cells one is in breast and other in liver (some he3+, i guess) ,for oncolet the breast cells are being controlled but not the liver cells ,thats why disease has reoccured in liver ,is what the reply the doctor gave me,so in order to control both, mom needs to take oncolet and xeloda together....
Avatar f tn My mom took Xeloda also as a maintenance drug for colorectal cancer. Typically diet and exercise do not affect CEA levels; however, inflammation can affect it. Sometimes CEA levels will rise if there is any type of inflammation. I know this is a scary time. Feel free to send me a message if you need to talk.
Avatar f tn Within a month, the breast cancer started in her skin around the site of the node. She now has a red rash (skin mets) in approx half of her chest wall and is getting Chemo (Xeloda) and Herceptin. My question is, the skin is beginning to "harden" around the node removal surgery site. What does this mean? Any other comments on Skin mets would be greatly appreciated.
484033 tn?1208516117 Yes, that was adjuvant therapy, administered between surgery and ileostomy takedown. (It was originally combined with Xeloda, but I could not tolerate that drug so the Xeloda was discontinued) Prior to surgery I treated with 5FU and radiation. So glad to put that in the past! Just had a follow-up exam and CEA 125 is normal. No lasting problems except the neuropathy in both heels, which is annoying but not a real big deal. Hope your tx goes as well.

Avatar m tn Doctor, last week you reponded to my question about medication regimen re herpes. My other questions are{ 1) How many days or weeks should a couple wait to have sex after the one party (female) commences medication for viral shedding suppression? 2) does the fact that that party has had herpes for 15 years affect how or when the medication should be taken or dosage etc.
Avatar f tn It took several rounds of IUI fertility treatments (6) to get me here and as soon as I started having symptoms at 4 weeks, fertility doc said to start a baby aspirin regimen. Looking into it, it seems like relatively new research revealing many benefits in women over 35, particularly reduced risk of pre-eclampsia among other things. Just wondering if anyone else is doing this? My friends with babies hadn't heard about it.
Avatar f tn I am taking Xeloda and hoping that will help shrink this huge tumor. I cannot take infusion chemotheraphy for this as my side effects were so extreme the first time that Xeloda seems to be my only choice. However, I mostly would like to know what sort of bandages I could use if it breaks through and what can be done to diminish the rancid odor. This discussion is related to ulcerating tumor.
Avatar f tn Dr. put her on Xeloda and Tykerb. She is on a 2 week on, 1 week off cycle. Her side effects have been severe. (i.e dehydration, throwing up, no appetite, mouth sores, nausea, you name it, she has it) Her last visit to the Dr. (she goes about twice a week) just yesterday, he told her (in her words) that "everything is shrinking, and you'll have to be on this for the rest of your life.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Zofran for severe nausea I experienced during radiation and chemotherapy (5-FU, oxiliplatin and Xeloda.) It was not particularly helpful for me. The prescription was for 30 pills and cost $1200 USD. I do not recall the dose. Because the Zofran did not help, I took it only for a short time, maybe 10-14 days. I did not experience any side effects specifically from the Zofran, or any benefits either. Hope this info is helpful.
