Common Questions and Answers about Wrinkles retin a products

wrinkles

Avatar n tn I suspect it is too harsh as complaints about increased wrinkles from retin A are just a google away. It sounds like it's just too drying. The last thing you want is to be pulling at your eyes because they feel tight and itchy. Maybe try something with vitamin C. That seems to soften fine lines well, but do not get it in your eyes because it has enough acid to cause a burning sensation.
Avatar f tn Angebelle, thanks for your reply. That is good news about the Retin-A. I am going to a dermatologist in a few weeks, and and am going to ask for it. I always thought it was only for acne, so wish I knew sooner! I appreciate your descriptions about your Mom's skin. In the meantime, I will use my Vichy, which is highly rated, but as you say, is not prescription strength.. Thanks, so glad I am not smoking. If anyone has any comments on smoking damage and retinol, I'd appreciate it!!
Avatar f tn Hello there, I am very worried that I may have accidentally harmed my baby without realizing it. I have used retin A for years for acne and wrinkles all over my face, and on my back and chest. I have used .1%. I found out at about 3 weeks pregnant that it can cause birth defects. I have stopped using it of course, but I am so scared. Studies on the internet say many different things. I welcome any thoughts for my situation. Thanks!
Avatar f tn The newest treatment for age spots is an alpha hydroxy acid gel or beta hydroxy acid gel. Retin-A cream, alpha hydroxyacid peels, and liquid nitrogen therapy are other options. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Avatar f tn Other treatment methods include prescription acid creams or peels, stronger retinoids such as Retin A, Botox( botulinum toxin) ,non invasive or carbon dioxide laser and a surgical facelift. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
948202 tn?1245941816 Hello. I have been using retin-a 3 times a week and sulfacetamide 3 times a week (alternating each night). I just so happened to start reading the information for retin-a and it says, "if you have recently used products containing sulfur....use tretinoin with caution." Do i have something to be worried about?
Avatar n tn If you try new products, it is recommended that you try one at a time a week apart to be able to identify the product that may not be suited for you. Before taking any medication such as Retin-A, discuss with your attending physician first for proper management. Drinking plenty of fluids may help and avoiding products that contain fragrances, colorants, formaline and formaldehyde-based preservatives to avoid any adverse reaction. Hope this helps. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have used salicylic acid face wash heavily along with Benzoyl Peroxide, my skin type is really sensitive. My under eyes have gonna really red and burt and left me with deep wrinkles when smiling, one of the eyes have completely recovered as it didn't have much deep wrinkles, although the other eye looks really wrinkly and the wrinkles look deep, I am only 21 and my skin was like baby's skin, didn't have any wrinkles before the bp use.
Avatar n tn There is really no single effective product as skin reactions to these products do vary. Wrinkles may be lessened by using moisturizers. These products may smoothen out skin and also improve fine lines over the eyes and near the mouth. Vitamin E cream may be a good choice when used to moisturize. Also, using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 during the day or during prolonged exposure to the sun may help reduce wrinkles.
Avatar n tn t done much for me either. But have you tried low percentage retin-a cream? This may be a solution for you. Applied at night, the thin layer of cream can do wonders in a matter of weeks, and over several months, there's a big improvement. I've used it as an acne treatment, and my 50+ age mother uses it for acne, wrinkles, and overall skin appearance. She looks fabulous for her age!
Avatar f tn is there a cream or anything at all that helps reduce the wrinkles and stretch marks on stomach? I've been using a dermal roller at least once in two weeks. I see improvements but I need a stronger cream.
Avatar f tn It is not unusual for individuals to have side effects when they begin using a retinol product. Most manufacturers recommend beginning with 2 applications a week for the first week or so depending on how your skin reacts. After that you can increase to every other night and then to every night as your skin adjusts. I have used several products with retinol and this has always been the case for me. I do not have sensitive skin.
Avatar f tn Over one year my skin has become a bag of wrinkles - my facem my arms my legs - basically all over. THis is very depressing as I seem to be withering much faster than all my contemporaries. Yet I have always been conscientious about exercising and eating the right foods. Can anyone shed any light on this or is there no solution to this deterioration? ... I am 54.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am 23 years old. I am looking for which products would be best for my skin at this age and help in preventing finelines and wrinkles. Thank you.

Avatar n tn Hello, Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
Avatar m tn Hello, It is not advisable to use retin A without a doctor’s guidance. For the skin thinning caused by steroid use, there is no topical treatment as such. However you can use topical vitamin C and vitamin E cream under a dermatologist’s supervision. Vitamin C promotes collagen production and in effect your skin will become thicker with regular use. Vitamin C is present in a wide array of lotions, creams and serums.
Avatar n tn I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing. I want a product I can stick to. SO PLEASE what would you recommend I buy and how should I use it.
Avatar m tn My esthetician said this was caused by the dehydration. So I went to a different dermatologist whose solution was to stop using retin A for a while and use Oil of Olay on my skin. I was quite upset that I waited 2 1/2 months to be given the same advice my mother would have given me. My esthetician told me it would take 12-18 weeks to rebuild the lipids I'd destroyed and that my skin would look worse before looking better.
Avatar m tn im guessing my skin is sensitive since i use retin a micro 0.1%.do you think the skin will grow back on my nose?its been about 5 days and it still doesnt look good.is there anything i can put on it without taking the skin off again that will make the skin grow faster?
Avatar f tn Does the new city you moved to have a different climate? Are you using a lot of cleaning products you don't normally use? I'm not sure what a lot of wrinkles is, but if it's really drastic, it's probably best to just have someone take a look at it to tell you what the cause is and if a treatment will help. In general, I would just make sure you moisturize with a quality lotion to see if that helps.
1155893 tn?1263018015 Hey, My dermo gave me Retin A cream to go along with my accutane. She said it would help clear up some of the dark spots I had on my skin from the acne. Will this help? What is this stuff usually used for ?
Avatar m tn I am confused, as retin A cream is said to cause the skin to thin, and applying the cream is supposed to generate collegen which I though thickened the skin. Could you pleas explain? thank you.
Avatar f tn Get back to basics--just a couple of non-irritating products. The location of your irritated skin suggests shampoo or face/body cleanser as a likely problem. In 2004, the American Contact Dermatitis Society named a surfactant called Cocamidopropyl betaine as their "contact allergen of the year." High honors, indeed!
Avatar m tn Man, I'm so desperate for help concerning this problem of mine, it has plagued me since I was 13. For the past six years, The skin on my forehead and temples has looked like the cracked, worn texture of a leather purse. I don't have wrinkles, per se, I don't think they are wrinkles, but my forehead skin just looks so worn and tired like a desert. If you can see in the bottom left corner of the photo, my forehead skin has a leathery, rough dry look.
Avatar m tn Maybe your dermatologist should consider switching you to a lower concentration of Retin-A, or to a different treatment altogether if your dryness is still tough to handle. Best. Dr.
Avatar f tn t discussed my concerns with a doctor, but I do have a hunch as to what the problem may have been. I was prescribed 0.05% retin-a for post-acne marks. I used it on various spots of my face. However, on my cheeks (around my nose), I noticed small holes that had never been there before. They looked almost like small incision holes...i soon realized that these were pores. I was pretty upset, because before using retin-a, my pores were pretty much invisible. Not small, but invisible.
