Common Questions and Answers about Wrinkles retin a micro

wrinkles

Avatar n tn I suspect it is too harsh as complaints about increased wrinkles from retin A are just a google away. It sounds like it's just too drying. The last thing you want is to be pulling at your eyes because they feel tight and itchy. Maybe try something with vitamin C. That seems to soften fine lines well, but do not get it in your eyes because it has enough acid to cause a burning sensation.
Avatar f tn Angebelle, thanks for your reply. That is good news about the Retin-A. I am going to a dermatologist in a few weeks, and and am going to ask for it. I always thought it was only for acne, so wish I knew sooner! I appreciate your descriptions about your Mom's skin. In the meantime, I will use my Vichy, which is highly rated, but as you say, is not prescription strength.. Thanks, so glad I am not smoking. If anyone has any comments on smoking damage and retinol, I'd appreciate it!!

Avatar f tn Hello there, I am very worried that I may have accidentally harmed my baby without realizing it. I have used retin A for years for acne and wrinkles all over my face, and on my back and chest. I have used .1%. I found out at about 3 weeks pregnant that it can cause birth defects. I have stopped using it of course, but I am so scared. Studies on the internet say many different things. I welcome any thoughts for my situation. Thanks!

Avatar m tn Can the Micro-Wrinkles (Microstriae) be detected without a computer scan (with the slit-lamp)?
Avatar m tn Toronto is too far away, can you cross the border to the Detroit suburbs for the day? That's close by! : ) I haven't heard of Swedish Skin, but I've heard that apple cider vinegar contains natural alpha hydroxy acids to detoxify skin and help the pH balance. If your dermatologist recommended to use the retin-a micro gel everyday, follow through with it. But if he/she didn't tell you already, the retin-a micro gel shouldn't be used with other treatments in combination.
Avatar f tn is there a cream or anything at all that helps reduce the wrinkles and stretch marks on stomach? I've been using a dermal roller at least once in two weeks. I see improvements but I need a stronger cream.

Avatar f tn Over one year my skin has become a bag of wrinkles - my facem my arms my legs - basically all over. THis is very depressing as I seem to be withering much faster than all my contemporaries. Yet I have always been conscientious about exercising and eating the right foods. Can anyone shed any light on this or is there no solution to this deterioration? ... I am 54.

I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Avatar n tn I am Using Retin-a-Micro-but it does not seem to be helping. can it be from a lack of vitamins or minerals?
Avatar n tn I started using Retin-A Micro which is a medicine with .04% tretinoin, and while I did experience some side-effects which space_ghost specified, I continued to ignore the itching and applied the medicine daily...the spots have already began to clear up and the red/itching has decreased as well. As with all medicine, individual results vary.
1155893 tn?1263018015 Hey, My dermo gave me Retin A cream to go along with my accutane. She said it would help clear up some of the dark spots I had on my skin from the acne. Will this help? What is this stuff usually used for ?
948202 tn?1245941816 Hello. I have been using retin-a 3 times a week and sulfacetamide 3 times a week (alternating each night). I just so happened to start reading the information for retin-a and it says, "if you have recently used products containing sulfur....use tretinoin with caution." Do i have something to be worried about?
382218 tn?1341181487 titanium dioxide, plus more in my moisturizer and makeup, and I never leave the house without it on, yes even during Canadian winter. ;) And because I use skin care products like AHA, BHA and Retin-A Micro, that increase cell turnover and stimulate collagen, again he felt that with this routine I ought to be avoiding this particular ravage of aging. Then bingo, light goes on, he knows I have MS and asked if I'd ever been treated with corticosteroids.
Avatar m tn I am confused, as retin A cream is said to cause the skin to thin, and applying the cream is supposed to generate collegen which I though thickened the skin. Could you pleas explain? thank you.
Avatar n tn Also, procedures such as micro dermabrasion and chemical peels only remove thin layers of skin. Laser resurfacing uses a laser to treat deep layers of skin. The procedure is performed in an outpatient facility or, at times, in a hospital. An individual might receive general anesthesia for treatment of deeper layers of the face, and recovery time can take from a few minutes to a few hours. The doctor moves the laser over the area that requires treatment.
Avatar m tn Man, I'm so desperate for help concerning this problem of mine, it has plagued me since I was 13. For the past six years, The skin on my forehead and temples has looked like the cracked, worn texture of a leather purse. I don't have wrinkles, per se, I don't think they are wrinkles, but my forehead skin just looks so worn and tired like a desert. If you can see in the bottom left corner of the photo, my forehead skin has a leathery, rough dry look.
Avatar n tn t done much for me either. But have you tried low percentage retin-a cream? This may be a solution for you. Applied at night, the thin layer of cream can do wonders in a matter of weeks, and over several months, there's a big improvement. I've used it as an acne treatment, and my 50+ age mother uses it for acne, wrinkles, and overall skin appearance. She looks fabulous for her age!
Avatar m tn I have been taking Retin A about an year now, and my skin has improved a lot. So, when I started I had this ugly period as expected. But, recently I feel, I am going through the same ugly period, and my skin looks darker every time I use Retin A. So, should I stop it or is it just another ugly period that will go away, after some time?
Avatar f tn No matter what the level of retinol in a product, you do need to take the same careful approach to initially using this ingredient as you would with a stronger, Retin A version. Too often retinol is mistaken as being gentle to the skin but you too can develop irritation if you don’t start out using it wisely. Additionally, you need a hydration layer (eye cream) on top of the Retinol to retain moisture.
Avatar n tn ve got medication prescribed to me by a previous dermatologist visit. Do you think Clindamycin Phosphate 1% or/and Retin-A-Micro would help with this problem? Oh and refering to your previous answer, when you say 'this is temporary', does that mean once I've gone to an esthetician, this will no longer be a problem or will it still flare up now and then? Thanks in advance doctor. I really appreciate the advice you give.
