I have deep wrinkles on top of my scalp, at first i thought it had to do with the fact im a little overweight but i was overweight when i was a kid and didnt have this, then i found out that its a disease called cutis verticis gyrata .
I would like to learn more about this and what caused to me to get it.

I have a small (1/3in wide) hard lump on the left side of the crown of my head. I was told it was probably a calcium build up by my doctor but she never examined it. I still have the lump six months later and it feels like it is getting bigger (I can't see it in the mirror where it's located), I am also getting more frequent headaches. It is under the scalp, I can move the skin a little, no hair loss and the lump itself does not move as if it's attached to the skull.
Hello all, I also have been feeling this strange, "raw" bruise-like pain on the top of my skull. I asked my husband to take a good look on the top of my head and try to see anything strange, any sort of mark, spot, etc. He did not notice anything different. This pain does not bother me, unless I touch that particular point. I started to notice this since 2 months ago. Any ideas about what this could possibly be? Thanks a lot.

t spend a lot of time in the sun, I have had a physical and am healthy, but the skin on the top of my hands is sort of shiny, dry but wrinkly. I am only 39. The top layer of my skin on my legs also is wrinkly. My hands are obvious to my family, but my legs they are not close enough to see. I can only describe it as the very top layer looks almost like an onion skin layer with wrinkles. I don't know if this is a good way to word it.
press my fingers on that specific point (which is not larger than a dime size area) or lay that portion of scalp on pillow, I feel slight pain in the scalp. hi a couple of years ago my dad was trying to open a wine bootle and by mistake some of the glass of the neck of the bottle cut his ligament in his thumb. Ever since he cannot move his thumb and the wrinkles on the joint of the thumb have disappeared. He doesn't usually go to doctors but if he goes what can they do about it and will it ever be back to normal? My dad says it will need surgery and if possible how much will it cost?

I must say that you have all shown me new wrinkles on wrinkles. Now when you say wrinkles are you talking about the type of wrinkle that a coach might put into a football game, or a baseball game etc. I wrinkled up my brow trying to find what wrinkles you are talking about. Now I have a whole new set of wrinkles. My old wrinkles are upset at the interlopers and are holding meetings above and below my lips.

My wife (64 yrs) has a localized area of intense pain in her scalp located about 2 1/2 inches from back from top center of head on the right side. It is about one 1 1/2 inches right of center line at 11 o'clock back from TDC.
The area of the pain is about the size of a silver dollar. It is extremely sensitive to the slightest touch which aggravates the general pain. The scalp skin is clear and normal. She has had this condition for about a week.
This last 3 days. By Friday I was better. Sunday night I noticed on the left side of my scalp top back a sensation that was irritating to me. It doesnt come and go while I just sit in one spot rather when I twist my neck slightly to the left and back when it is touched it hurts but not severely. Once in awhile when I am walking I will feel the pulling. Almost feels as though I have had my hair up in a pony tail for far to long.

Over the last few years my hair has continued to gradually thin all over, however the MOST noticeable areas are in the front of my scalp and directly on the top of my head. I still have hair there. Saw the hairstylist tonight and she said my hair was noticeably thinner on top however there were no bald patches. Just that you could see that it was thinning more noticeably in the front. Honestly, if it werent for the fact that I look in the mirror every day, I would swear I was already bald.
i recently accidently produced wrinkles under my eyes from trying to rub soap out of my eyes in the shower, the soap , and i tried getting it out in the shower by rubbing my eyes because they were stinging and since soap on skin creates a lot of friction i discovered i got wrinkles the next day and the skin under my eyes its a bit more corse than usual. i must of stretched the fibres of my skin im only 20.
hi, i have a 11 year old son that has 2 small red, raw spots on the top of his head/scalp. The rest of his scalp looks perfect. He has a crew cut so it is very easy to see. It itches him a lot. I know head lice is sometimes in school, but i have looked very good and see nothing of that nature. I only see some light, flaky dandruff in some parts. Pls help. thx.

Frequent washing or prolonged exposure to water may cause wrinkles on the skin. In the absence of redness, scaling, discharge and pain in the area, this may not be something that you should be very worried about. Just avoid manipulating the area. Avoid prolonged exposure to water. You may use a mild or light vitamin E cream over the affected area to moisturize it. Observe if the skin improves in appearance.
