Wrinkles from retin a

Common Questions and Answers about Wrinkles from retin a

wrinkles

Avatar n tn I suspect it is too harsh as complaints about increased wrinkles from retin A are just a google away. It sounds like it's just too drying. The last thing you want is to be pulling at your eyes because they feel tight and itchy. Maybe try something with vitamin C. That seems to soften fine lines well, but do not get it in your eyes because it has enough acid to cause a burning sensation.
Avatar f tn Angebelle, thanks for your reply. That is good news about the Retin-A. I am going to a dermatologist in a few weeks, and and am going to ask for it. I always thought it was only for acne, so wish I knew sooner! I appreciate your descriptions about your Mom's skin. In the meantime, I will use my Vichy, which is highly rated, but as you say, is not prescription strength.. Thanks, so glad I am not smoking. If anyone has any comments on smoking damage and retinol, I'd appreciate it!!
Avatar f tn Hello there, I am very worried that I may have accidentally harmed my baby without realizing it. I have used retin A for years for acne and wrinkles all over my face, and on my back and chest. I have used .1%. I found out at about 3 weeks pregnant that it can cause birth defects. I have stopped using it of course, but I am so scared. Studies on the internet say many different things. I welcome any thoughts for my situation. Thanks!
Avatar f tn My sister is 51 and has a vertical line straight down the middle of her cheek from her zygomatic bone to her jaw - what could cause this?
Avatar f tn I have acquired what I believe is sun spots from too much exposure and those areas are now white. Is there a product on the market that can be purchased so that the white spots will even out with the rest of my skin? I also have a lot of age spots (brown spots) on my legs and arms; which I believe is also from the sun and tanning beds. Is there also a product for this available on the market?
Avatar f tn is there a cream or anything at all that helps reduce the wrinkles and stretch marks on stomach? I've been using a dermal roller at least once in two weeks. I see improvements but I need a stronger cream.
Avatar f tn Over one year my skin has become a bag of wrinkles - my facem my arms my legs - basically all over. THis is very depressing as I seem to be withering much faster than all my contemporaries. Yet I have always been conscientious about exercising and eating the right foods. Can anyone shed any light on this or is there no solution to this deterioration? ... I am 54.
Avatar n tn Other treatment methods include prescription acid creams or peels, stronger retinoids such as Retin A, Botox( botulinum toxin) ,non invasive or carbon dioxide laser and a surgical facelift. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
1155893 tn?1263018015 Hey, My dermo gave me Retin A cream to go along with my accutane. She said it would help clear up some of the dark spots I had on my skin from the acne. Will this help? What is this stuff usually used for ?
948202 tn?1245941816 Hello. I have been using retin-a 3 times a week and sulfacetamide 3 times a week (alternating each night). I just so happened to start reading the information for retin-a and it says, "if you have recently used products containing sulfur....use tretinoin with caution." Do i have something to be worried about?
Avatar m tn anyway every oil free and hypoallergenic moisturizer I use breaks me out...is they a moisturizer that I can get from a dermatologist with a prescription that wont break me out?I have really sentive skin I don't know what to use and my skins so dry from the winter weather and the cretin a.can you recommend something that wont break me out and clog my pores?or can I get a moisturizer from a dermatologist that wont break me out?thanks ill be looking forward to you/re answer.
Avatar m tn t understand what I was talking about, or they asked if I wanted a prescription for retin A. I have a feeling like it may be sun damage from when I was younger, however when you are young aren't most kids out in the sun all day? Why don't they have the same problem as me then? And if it was sun damage, it is kind of extreme for a 19 year old to get the visible effects, as sun damage is more cumulative and tends to show up when you are in your 30's.
Avatar m tn I am confused, as retin A cream is said to cause the skin to thin, and applying the cream is supposed to generate collegen which I though thickened the skin. Could you pleas explain? thank you.
Avatar f tn No matter what the level of retinol in a product, you do need to take the same careful approach to initially using this ingredient as you would with a stronger, Retin A version. Too often retinol is mistaken as being gentle to the skin but you too can develop irritation if you don’t start out using it wisely. Additionally, you need a hydration layer (eye cream) on top of the Retinol to retain moisture.
Avatar n tn t done much for me either. But have you tried low percentage retin-a cream? This may be a solution for you. Applied at night, the thin layer of cream can do wonders in a matter of weeks, and over several months, there's a big improvement. I've used it as an acne treatment, and my 50+ age mother uses it for acne, wrinkles, and overall skin appearance. She looks fabulous for her age!
Avatar m tn My esthetician said this was caused by the dehydration. So I went to a different dermatologist whose solution was to stop using retin A for a while and use Oil of Olay on my skin. I was quite upset that I waited 2 1/2 months to be given the same advice my mother would have given me. My esthetician told me it would take 12-18 weeks to rebuild the lipids I'd destroyed and that my skin would look worse before looking better.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Retin A about an year now, and my skin has improved a lot. So, when I started I had this ugly period as expected. But, recently I feel, I am going through the same ugly period, and my skin looks darker every time I use Retin A. So, should I stop it or is it just another ugly period that will go away, after some time?
Avatar f tn The first summer began with deep scabs and ended with a scar that looked like a mustache and wrinkles around my mouth with some pitting. There is also pitting around my brows, one of which turned into a wrinkle above one brow. The wrinkles began as pits at the corners of my mouth and turned into wrinkles within a two week time frame between the fourth and fifth month.

Avatar n tn hey, Right now im using proactiv for my pimples, but i have been prescribed Retin-A by my doctor a couple of years back. It didnt really work so i discontinued using it. I also have facial eczema, can that make my pimples worse? Ive put up with my pimples for too long, it has actually lowered my self esteem to the point where i can't handle. I will see with my GP again so she can transfer me to a dermatologist. Thank you so much for the info. Michelle.
Avatar n tn For the past 4 summers since, I still get the white spots after being in the sun. I was wondering if using Retin-A for skincare/wrinkle control is okay in patients with pityriasis alba? Would it cause further depigmentation or actually reverse the effects? Thank you!
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 25, had a baby a year ago, am breastfeeding and have wrinkles on my left forearm. I was wondering if you ever figured out the cause.
Avatar n tn A related discussion, retin-a after accutane was started.
Avatar n tn Also, using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 during the day or during prolonged exposure to the sun may help reduce wrinkles. Drink plenty of water and use only a mild facial cleanser such as Cetaphil over the face.
