Avatar f tn I just found out that I lost my work today because I cannot stay well in a workplace that has clorox, paint, polyurethane, bacteria, with NO return air. I am in a very specialized field--I teach newly arrived refugees from Burma, Africa, etc. tospeak English. It may be too late, but is there any kind of mask I could get and still teach--I guess, however, that it would have to cover nose, mouth and eyes--maybe I coul wear it half the time. I need/love the work.
Avatar m tn Fatigue management is becoming a growing area of interest and research in Australia mainly due to the mining boom. As it becomes more a topic of interest this can only benefit other workers such police, nurses and other shift workers. That's why I started my blog: http://fatiguemanagementblog.wordpress.com/ so we could share experiences. Would be great to hear from anyone on how they manage their fatigue from varying shifts.
Avatar n tn I had to give up my rank and move to my original jail where i had a lot of friends in mananagement and staff and now I am leading a normal life again. I feel that I was let down by management and me peers in the previous jail.

If the merchandise is light & ca fit on a cart that is higher so you dont have to bend, then the moving around may actually help your back. But if not, I would ask your DR for a note & give it to the manager above yours. Explain that you have already spoke with him about it.
Avatar f tn To find a doctor close to your place you can consult your insurance agent or office. There may be others at your workplace or around who have been to a pain management clinic. So, you could ask them. Local pharmacists too could guide you. You could look through the local directory. Check and see if there is a pain support group. Members of this group may be able to help you. Your husband’s old doctor may be able to provide some reference. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hi Dona, First let me Welcome you to the Pain management Forum and tell you how gald we are that you have found this Forum. I'm so very sorry that you are having this reaction. I have read your other posts and noticed that you also posted on the "Ask a Nurse Forum" and that the Nurse suggested that you contact your Dr.
5097121 tn?1466787392 When our bodies are feeling good, we usually feel good emotionally, so in turn, taking care of your body is very beneficial for stress management, for instance, getting a sufficient quantity AND quality of sleep, eating properly (including a healthy/balanced diet), staying active. Staying away from things like smoking, drinking, overindulging with food are a given. Minimizing intake of things like caffeine is a good idea. ---->Additionally, we have to set REALISTIC daily goals.

Avatar n tn m not much help regarding the buzzing in the ears. It could be related to high stress or anxiety, or uncontrolled blood pressure, sinusitis, ear disease like menier's disease, or medication side effects. Make sure your hearing is tested and of course see your primary care doctor to have a whole body physical exam and see an opthalmologist becauese of the eyestrain. I wonder if you might have some problems with your workplace - such as enviromental issues.

506514 tn?1210785523 Hi PeacelsAlllWant, how are you? Can you give some details of the nature of job you are doing? Usually the stress and strain to the body does cause a bit of muscle soreness at the end of a hard day out. The events at the workplace if bothering might also make you mentally stressed. When you are not working probably you might be following a set sleep cycle, which might make you sleep better. It is better to keep yourself physically active whether at work or not and follow a healthy sleep habits.
Avatar m tn Due to a workplace injury, four years ago I had surgery to remove C2-C3 bulging disc which were replaced with cadeaver bone and a metal plate. I was told this should cure my problem of a pinched nerve and neck pain. However, just recently I have started having more severe neck pain and numbness down my left arm and aching dull pain that runs from my lower back through my posterior and down my legs. I will see my regular doctor and report this but I think I need to see someone else.
975514 tn?1324997938 I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have CFS and or FMS and are dealing with stress in the workplace. For those of us who are still working, the economy in the US and perhaps in the UK too has been extremely tense over the last couple of years. This has compounded the pressures I think we usually feel at work dealing with our illness and managing our careers. How do you all do it? I find myself struggling to keep a healthy balance.
574118 tn?1305135284 Despite this, I still received a bad review saying I have poor time management skills. I have poor time management and judgement skills due to hypomania, which is why I asked for frequent breaks as an accomidation. I get my work done, but it is hard to concentrate and focus. Plus, I my thinking become disorganized and gets worse the longer the hypomania lasts. So even here with the ADA I don't know what I can do. :( Just know you're not alone. Work is so hard every day.
Avatar m tn Hello all, Sorry I have not been on for awhile, our computer died at home and I'm hesitant to go on at my workplace. As many of you know my partner has genotype 3 stage 3/4 early cirrohsis. He did 24 weeks of treatment. We just got the 3 month tests back and he is still undectedted and his liver enzymes have normailized. ....keeping our fingers crossed for the next 3 months. But hey its a good start........
572651 tn?1530999357 The authors speculate about why the benefits of the stress management treatment did not last beyond the 24-week treatment period. One possibility they point out is that participants may require longer treatment to learn to maintain the stress-reducing behaviors on their own.
Avatar m tn It is possible to continue to have a stress fracture over months when it is not given due attention and appropriate care. Conservative management of stress fracture should aim at movement restriction and non-weightbearing for atleast 6-8 weeks, while stressful activities should be resumed gradually after 12-16 weeks. The duration of rest would also depend on the severity of the fracture and the healing response. For severe or non-healing fractures, surgery may need to be considered.
