163305 tn?1333668571 Roughly half the workforce now has access to a 401(k) defined contribution plan at their workplace, but we know that these generally are not providing much support in retirement. Most workers manage to accumulate little money in these accounts over the span of their working career. Part of this is due to the fact that they often change jobs. They may go several years without being able to contribute to a 401(k) plan at their workplace.
Avatar f tn 27th my levels jumped and sonogram measured 5 weeks 1 day. I went back today and they give me handouts on miscarriage for just In case and I am terrified. I don't see my OB for another week. Can anyone out there relate to my situation?
10452875 tn?1436484351 Look into what HR has for workplace accommodation, that might include you needing to sit whenever you need to. If its not something they can accommodate they might be able to release you early for leave. Look into it.
Avatar f tn I just found out that I lost my work today because I cannot stay well in a workplace that has clorox, paint, polyurethane, bacteria, with NO return air. I am in a very specialized field--I teach newly arrived refugees from Burma, Africa, etc. tospeak English. It may be too late, but is there any kind of mask I could get and still teach--I guess, however, that it would have to cover nose, mouth and eyes--maybe I coul wear it half the time. I need/love the work.
Avatar n tn It definitely sounds as though you were in a hostile work environment that caused you a great deal of stress and eventually caused you to have to seek a new position. The fact that your immediate supervisor was involved rather than trying to help you is also deplorable...and wrong. However, the burden of proof in a legal situation is on you. If the new job caused you to take a pay cut, then you certainly could seek damages for the loss of income, not to mention rank.
Avatar n tn m not much help regarding the buzzing in the ears. It could be related to high stress or anxiety, or uncontrolled blood pressure, sinusitis, ear disease like menier's disease, or medication side effects. Make sure your hearing is tested and of course see your primary care doctor to have a whole body physical exam and see an opthalmologist becauese of the eyestrain. I wonder if you might have some problems with your workplace - such as enviromental issues.
Avatar f tn t they and I mean the guy in battle ,on the front lines , not the big fry sitting behind a desk taking handouts from a failed government .
667078 tn?1316000935 Alex, is there a website with more info? Maybe handouts or something that we could give to people at work?
506514 tn?1210785523 Hi PeacelsAlllWant, how are you? Can you give some details of the nature of job you are doing? Usually the stress and strain to the body does cause a bit of muscle soreness at the end of a hard day out. The events at the workplace if bothering might also make you mentally stressed. When you are not working probably you might be following a set sleep cycle, which might make you sleep better. It is better to keep yourself physically active whether at work or not and follow a healthy sleep habits.

975514 tn?1324997938 I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have CFS and or FMS and are dealing with stress in the workplace. For those of us who are still working, the economy in the US and perhaps in the UK too has been extremely tense over the last couple of years. This has compounded the pressures I think we usually feel at work dealing with our illness and managing our careers. How do you all do it? I find myself struggling to keep a healthy balance.
Avatar f tn I had an appointment this morning with my NP, and she gave me some SUPER handouts on thyroid disease and what inhibits the T4 to T3 conversion, so I thought I'd share.
Avatar n tn ll probably take a basic class at one of the hospitals in the area and read up on the Bradley method. I found out a friend of ours has a binder full of the handouts and information they got at their classes! Hooray for saving money!
Avatar f tn I know exactly how you feel and I react exactly the same to work stress. My only answer for myself is that I've decided to quit my job and look for something less high profile. I think we have to be aware of our 'stress vulnerability' with Bipolar, it really is a very big trigger, possibly the biggest trigger of all to mood episodes. As ILAD says I think we have to learn what coping skills work for each of us. Work stress drove me to drinking badly, and made my BP even worse.
Avatar f tn Weekends seen to be fine after a little time away. Is this Asthma or am I alergice to my workplace? Should I test the air quality?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with H Pylori back in 2003. I took the antibiotics and the pain cleared up. After that, my doctor put me on Nexium. Unfortunately, insurance wouldn't cover it so I switched to Prilosec. It seemed to do the trick so my doctor just told me to continue with it. Last year, he sent me for an upper endo to check to see if all was ok. Everything checked out good. Seemingly unrelated, back in 2006, I had my first panic attack. I couldn't pinpoint what caused it.
Avatar n tn Adding to that I highly recommend bringing a folder for all the papers/helpful handouts they give you! Even a notebook and pen to write down helpful info from nurses or questions you want to ask. I'm also buying my own cute hospital gown to wear this time around that I found on amazon. Not necessary but it's just something I wanted!
1530342 tn?1405016490 While support for gay marriage only recently crossed into majority backing, the margin is overwhelming for workplace protection. Republican pollster Alex Lundry found 68% of respondents supported its passage in September. Not only that, about to 8 in 10 respondents assumed incorrectly that such anti-discrimination measures were already in place. Both these results track closely with an earlier poll by the liberal Center for American Progress in 2011.
