Avatar n tn Vagal nerve reflexes are particularly sensitive in young athletic males. after the vagal response the heart can try to make up for the lost beat by throwing in a few extra ones (simply put). This is harmless despite the odd feeling. If these beats last more than the immediate period after the excercise, or if you have actual chest pain or shortness of breath, you get dizzy, or if it begins to occur without exercise let your doctor know.
Avatar n tn We could recommend specific exercises, but those two areas can be reached with probably over a thousand different ones, both with weights and without. But they do have to be done correctly to hit the right areas and so you don't injure yourself.

Avatar f tn m a cross country runner, so i eat a lot more down and my workouts vary depending on the team). Anyways, since i lost all this weight, my body has changed and i'm much thinner but sadly i still have some untone muscle and skin on my stomach and little flubber on my upper upper inner thighs. Daily I run anywhere from 3-6 miles and i do three sets of crunches, "russian twists", planks, and lunges.
Avatar f tn I wanted to do my normal routine as well. I am definitely a fitness girl, but I toned my workouts way back just to be safe. I did fast paced walking until 32 weeks. Now, at 37 weeks I can't walk much. I do toning and strength training with light or no weights (lunges and squats are my favorite). My husband is a personal trainer, so I had to just accept slower workouts and just focus on retaining muscle memory. It's better to be a little conservative for the benefit of your baby.

Avatar f tn From properly fitting running shoes to the right training weights, the gear you choose to use or wear can greatly impact your fitness results. Avatar n tn Circuit training burns 30 percent more calories than typical weight training workouts. You can easily do circuit training workouts at home or at the gym on your own. Workouts last 30 to 45 minutes each and use either dumbbells, resistance bands or just your own body weight as a resistance. You're doing a series of exercises one after another in a circuit without taking any breaks in between the exercises.

483733 tn?1326798446 A big balance ball, a medicine ball, resistance bands, and small hand weights are also in my arsenal. I also found a really big floor mat online. Most of the mats in stores are not very wide, and it's kinda discourging if you don't feel like you fit well on your mat! Also, the wide mat is a great surface to do my video workouts on, and gives my joints an extra layer of padding on top of my shoes and carpet. Hmmm, I feel pretty guilty that I skipped my AM workout now!
Avatar f tn Same here! I am 17+5 and am still lifting weights, spinning, and I started prenatal Pilates. I hope I can keep going, modified as necessary, right up until my little one is here!

Avatar m tn I have both and take beta blockers. I exercise probably 5 or 6 days a week. I do cardio workouts, strength training, free weights and yoga. I don't guess I qualify as an athlete but I do pretty good workouts. At first I was terrified when my heart rate went up and I must admit that there are still times it kinda bothers me. But I'm trying really hard not to let this control my life.
Avatar f tn Squats are good for you while your prgnant. I would watch it on the cycle class I'm an avid cyclist and those spin classes can get your heart rate up high. What happens then is you burn off sugar and fall into a hypoglycemic stage, bad for baby. So, maybe not turn up the resistance as often and the rest of the class and if your getting winded on jumps don't do them all. I am mainly sticking to the treadmill on an incline, eliptical and free weights for now.
