1292737 tn?1272559251 Thanks for all the encouragement:) The Firm exercise DVDs are made specifically for women. It combines strength training, cardio, and weight lifting with a little bit of dancing as well. It tells you which DVD to do each day and if you have a day where you can't do the full 45-60 minutes workouts, they have "Turbo" workouts...which are more intense but shorter workouts to help you fit in your busier schedule.
Avatar f tn Make sure you are stretching before and after your workouts. Drink lots of water throughout the day, even during workout. Breath! Dont hold your breath during strenuous routines. You can also try a creatine & protein post workout drink to help you along the way.
Avatar n tn Hello all, I have noticed recently, during my weightlifting routines at the gym, that I will occasionally get a fluttering sensation in my heart that lasts about 10 to 15 seconds and occurs randomly while lifting weights or doing abdominal exercises, but oddly enough never during cardio workouts such as running or swimming (chance?). These "flutters" are quite worrisome, as I feel as if my heart may not recover it's consistent beat sometimes.
Avatar f tn While you may also build muscle, it is minimal compared to strength training routines. Strength training exercises are performed to build muscle, but they also burn calories. Added muscle will shape and tone your body and may lead to a loss of inches before you see a weight loss reading on the scale. Both types of exercise help you to reach optimal health and aid in weight loss. Mix up the duration's, intensity and frequency of each based on your overall goals.
Avatar f tn re already active it is fine to keep doing your regular workouts.. just monitor your heart rate, try not to get above 150. I asked her if boot camp classes and spin is still okay (by two favorite) she said as long and I'm monitoring I can do whatever I feel like as long as it is safe and I am not over heating (no more kick boxing).
Avatar m tn Does anyone know what the one best workout or workouts I can do for my chest, arms to grow an inch or 2
Avatar m tn I know it burns calories and it works body muscles, but i am not seeking to lose weight, my weight is normal and good. I am doing all body muscles workouts at home (sometimes intense workout) including abdominal workouts. I want to start swimming for a while and i want to know what are the benefits of swimming, and what will my muscles and abs benefit from it.
10233378 tn?1427161882 I'm 6 weeks and 2 days and I was just curious on what workouts are good while you're pregnant? I'm not working right now so I have plenty of time to work out but don't want to do anything excessive and I don't want to be a couch potato my whole pregnancy lol. Any ideas are appreciated!
Avatar m tn Moreover, i have not been eating as much as i usually do and i lost some weight because of stress...so could my pain be connected to the workouts and stress? or did something happen during oral sex (i mean could i be pregnant or is something else going on)??
Avatar f tn Sorry, I left this one out! http://www.babycenter.com/0_eight-ways-to-find-time-to-exercise_626.

Cardiologist #2 – Confirmed that surgery will have to happen in my life time but - Continue with your aerobic type exercise, stop any weight lifting type workouts. Avatar f tn I am 6 weeks pregnant. I would like to go for my usual gym workouts. What exercises are safe for my sweet little unborn child?
Avatar f tn Everyone's body is different, not one-size fits all on how long it will take to see changes in your body when you start working out. It also depends on the kind of workouts you're doing, and what your lifestyle is like. At a physiological and hormonal level, changes start to occur in the body instantly after a workout, but most people will start actually seeing results within the first month or two of making regular workouts part of their weekly routine.
10028419 tn?1416841704 My doctor told me I could continue my regular work out routines just don't stress my body with extra weight and don't lay on my back now that i'm in my third trimester.
Avatar f tn ) If you were enrolled in a gym and had your exercise routines, follow those and mix them up with some of hers, if not and you are just starting, I recommend to begin exercising 3 times a week and go from there with light cardio at first. Do not forget to warm up for 2 to five mins before starting exercising and to stretch after! And as you are already home, take a hot shower when your body is still warm, it will help to relax your muscles. Please tell me how all went!
1285110 tn?1420147378 We just got a workout video that breaks up workouts like you have Tigerlily. There is a 15 min arm, 15 core, & 15 leg workouts. At the moment we have a roatating schedule planned that goes something like Day 1: arms & core Day 2: core & legs Day 3: legs & arms & then repeat. Should be interesting to see how it works. We can't keep up with the whole routines yet, but we try. The arm routine is a lot of tricep, chest, shoulder, upper back, & even more triceps.
Avatar m tn You need a workout plan that's for your age. It needs to include strength-training exercises for muscle gains, as well as an adequate amount of cardio to keep your body fat percentage low. Don't forget to follow a proper diet. Average muscle lose is 1/2 lb. per year for adults. You should change your program every couple of weeks or every month, to keep yourself interested and avoid not seeing a change.
Avatar f tn Keep weight lifting. Do your normal routines. As your stomach gets bigger do different variations of the workouts so that they're not too high impact. Exercising while pregnant is amazing. And will keep you fit for labor. Though if you are watching your calories for weight loss, when you get a confirmed pregnancy test, I'd stop that. Instead just continue to eat healthy. Small portions, not too much sugar, tons of fruits and veggies, whole wheat, etc.
Avatar f tn have you change up your exercise routines at all? i know you said you've up your calorie intake, but also at the same time is burning more calories. sometimes when your body is so used to doing the same thing for a long time, things become pretty easy and your body doesn't have to work as hard. i say you're probably at that plateau state. that can be tough especially when you've worked so hard and know you're still working hard to lose those last few pounds.
Avatar m tn I have both and take beta blockers. I exercise probably 5 or 6 days a week. I do cardio workouts, strength training, free weights and yoga. I don't guess I qualify as an athlete but I do pretty good workouts. At first I was terrified when my heart rate went up and I must admit that there are still times it kinda bothers me. But I'm trying really hard not to let this control my life.
Avatar n tn the next time, maybe bike or swim for 30-45 mins and then 30 mins of lower body strength exercises. some days, just focus on strength training while others only strictly on cardio activities. whatever it is, be sure you mix it up. and most importantly, give yourself rest days. it doesn't hurt to have 1-2 rest days in between exercise days. good luck!
Avatar f tn I have been doing this whole "diet thing" for about seven months now. although I've lost about 20lbs, I still have 20 more to go. I've been eating healthy foods and exercising (about an hour of Zumba a day). I've hit a plateau. I have recently added strength training and I'm still waiting for results. When I do these workouts, It's usually later in the day, around 5 or so. Should I do my workouts in the morning before breakfast? Does it matter what time I workout?
Avatar m tn no matter how much i workout my muscles wont seem to grow.
