Common Questions and Answers about Workouts muscle building

Avatar f tn You should ask your Dr. Muscle building and high intensity workouts are not advised while pregnant, which would be the only reason for taking it... also all that protein can pit stress on your kidneys which are already working overtime.
Avatar n tn Strength training 2-3 times a week is great for building muscle, and people get there best results with the lower end of the scale. For example when I take 3 rest days or longer in a row after overloading my muscle, I get amazing results. Sometimes taking a whole week off is beneficial to letting the muscles completely repair and get super strong before overtaxing them again. People who fail at gaining muscle are failing because they are toning the muscle by doing too much at the gym.
Avatar m tn One, you are building lean muscle mass from running and that weights more than fat so it will look like you are not losing weight. The other is that Glutamine is a protein. Any nutrient (carbs, protein, and fats) intake that is increased and the body does not use it, it is stored in the body as fat. Suggest you start measuring your body instead of using a weight scale. You will become trimmer, clothes fitting looser, without really losing weight due to increased lean muscle mass.
Avatar f tn Also, for cardio (and some muscle-building), walking is great. Low intensity exercises help burn fat, while high intensity help build and strengthen the heart. Good luck and keep it up!
Avatar m tn Thnx man ill try it but one more thong I want to ask what would be a good diet to be on for the time being?
Avatar f tn This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body. Peak 8 actually stimulates the growth hormone in the body. I encourage you to visit Dr Mercola’s site to learn more about Peak 8 fitness because I personally feel that it is one of the best ways to exercise, especially considering the speed at which you can lose fat and build muscle. I highly recommend you read this article and watch the videos on the page.
Avatar f tn Dont preasure yourself to much darling, remember that the easiest way to keep you self healthy is by eating healthy. Dont forget to always eat fruits and vegetables and also do some daily workout, that will help you lose weight.
Avatar m tn Yoga centers on building core strength, breathing and relaxation. It can help you build muscle, lose weight and regain lost movement. You can get yoga dvd's relatively inexpensively at discount department stores, or google "yoga" and you can watch all types of videos, showing you how to do certain poses. Get your doctor's okay. For diet, make sure you eat mostly veggies, and add in lean protein, low/no fat dairy, nuts, seeds and "good" fats.
Avatar n tn It’s important not to restrict calories too much as you seek to improve athletic performance that will lead to muscle gains because the practice can sabotage muscle-building efforts. It can also diminish metabolism and lead to fatigue or illness. Strength, or resistance, training will help you build muscle, which is metabolically active, meaning it will burn calories even when at rest.
2019518 tn?1328532621 I am 5'1" age 52, post menopauseal since 05, and I eat healthy at least 5 meals a day. I don't smoke or drink. I exercise 5 days a week early in the mornings I do tabata workouts on an empty stomach and and in the evenings I do 45 min. light to medium high reps weight workouts. However, I can't seem to lose body fat or at least it is quite slow in comming off. I know muscle weighs more. My tabata's leave me drenched.
Avatar n tn I don't know your age, but I'd guess that for your weight, 1200 calories is not enough, each day. I'm not sure what you mean by "eating clean"; different people put different definitions on that term. You can be eating healthy, and still not be eating the right things to lose weight. You also have to watch portion sizes. I agree with changing up your exercises.

Avatar f tn t like eating all day long, so what I do is just make sure to incorporate meat at every meal and I have had no problems getting fit, building muscle and recovering from workouts just by listening to the cues my body gives me. Honestly I wouldn't even advise anyone to follow a strict calorie plan, and 1200 calories is very low for someone who isn't sedentry.
Avatar f tn m 21 years old and I found that I got the most flat/toned stomach when I began weight training. (Incorporated with ab workouts after). When you build muscle your body will burn more calories at rest than it would with less muscle mass. Incorporate cardio too, about 20 minutes. I also eat a diet with a lot of whole grains, fruits veggies, and no junk food like chips or anything like that.
Avatar f tn m an 18-year-old runner preparing for a 10K (if you have any tips for more effective workouts go ahead) so my tights (exept for the inner thigh) are well trained. I'd like to work on my abs (unfortunately hidden between a layer of fat),arms (exept for biceps and a little shoulders I don't have much to brag about) and back (I'm having some back pain lately and need to work on my posture). So... Any advice or exercise I could do? :) Thanks a lot.
Avatar m tn Sugars and refined carbs (think doughnut, cookie, maple bar, white bread, potatoes, pretty much all candy) are pretty useless for muscle-building, as well as leading to intense sugar cravings. Junk food is also good at building up fat in your body and clogging your arteries, too. All that is bad for your skin, as well. A lot of exercises, you can do in the privacy of your room, or in a cool place like a garage if you get too warm doing them.
Avatar f tn I wanted to do my normal routine as well. I am definitely a fitness girl, but I toned my workouts way back just to be safe. I did fast paced walking until 32 weeks. Now, at 37 weeks I can't walk much. I do toning and strength training with light or no weights (lunges and squats are my favorite). My husband is a personal trainer, so I had to just accept slower workouts and just focus on retaining muscle memory. It's better to be a little conservative for the benefit of your baby.
Avatar f tn m a cross country runner, so i eat a lot more down and my workouts vary depending on the team). Anyways, since i lost all this weight, my body has changed and i'm much thinner but sadly i still have some untone muscle and skin on my stomach and little flubber on my upper upper inner thighs. Daily I run anywhere from 3-6 miles and i do three sets of crunches, "russian twists", planks, and lunges.
1292438 tn?1276120904 Assume a pushup position with your arms completely straight, but place your hands on a Swiss ball instead of the floor. Your body should form a straight line from your head to your ankles. Tighten your core and hold it that way for the duration of the exercise [A]. Lift one foot off the floor and slowly raise your knee as close to your chest as you can without changing your lower-back posture. Then repeat with your other leg. Alternate back and forth for 30 seconds.
Avatar m tn Lonelymom - You may also want to change out the style of exercise and do some muscle stretching, strength training and core building to change out with the cardio workouts ...
Avatar m tn Lifting weights, can help to gain muscle mass when your nutritional supplements provide you with dietary protein to build new muscle fibers. You should avoid excessive exercise that burns calories, a muscle-building fitness program will help you add lean muscle mass instead of fat tissue from the weight-gain supplements you consume.
