Common Questions and Answers about Workout routines on home gym

Avatar f tn I am trying to decide on a home exercise machine. I would like either and elliptical or a water rowing machine. I have researched both and tested out ellipticals. Rowing machines are a little harder to find. I know an elliptical will be good for cardio but will it also help build muscle?
Avatar f tn I am looking into different home workout programs that I can do on my own time. I work as an EMT and my schedules are not flexible to fit in any gym programs. My question is have any of you tried the Les Mills Pump! program either at home or in the gym? What did you think of it? Did it work like they say? Do you have any other suggestions for me?
Avatar n tn I wouldnt go to the gym. Grab a step stool and maybe some 1 lb. Weights and throw on some good music.
505857 tn?1329681517 I also are not familiar with that particular class. My experience of gym classes, etc is that you participate to a level you feel comfortable with. As you lose weight and your fitness levels increase you will naturally take on and do more. I think the important thing is to go, do what you are able too and enjoy yourself. Confidence wise, you may find it a little intimidating to begin with but as you become more familiar with the moves etc you'll relax and feel more at ease.
Avatar n tn I work part time,in graduate school full time ,and barely have time to go to the gym.

684175 tn?1295477838 Hoping to see some more results with a structured gym workout. I am so determined to meet my goal it was worth the money. I would of signed up for more if I could of afforded. Why does it cost so much money to get healthy? The food is more expensive and the gym/trainers are expensive. CRAZY!!!! Still I figure it is worth the money to spend to get there right! Go again on Friday to start with my trainer. Her name is Arissa. I am sure I will end up hating that name lol.
958098 tn?1246809218 Anyways, does anybody have some exercises or suggestions on how to lose weight at home. I also currently have a broken wrist, so nothing that will affect that. Also, I am not gonna go to any type of gym or anything and I don't really wanna do anything around the neighborhood because there are bad people around. So, only exercises I can do at home.
Avatar f tn I also am still going to the gym. I am 16 weeks and 5 days. I go on the eliptical, bike and walk on the treadmill.
4658567 tn?1364142123 I normally just walked on the treadmill or did the elliptical . I just found it better for me to walk around my neighborhood or park and workout on the treadmill I have at home because I cant do half of the cardio my body was used to before. I will say though not having my gym membership anymore i'm lacking alot of motivation.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 5 weeks, and I was wondering if I can go to the gym still?! I wasn't too faithful before I found out I was pregnant is it safe?
1543882 tn?1293417476 Losing weight can definately be a struggle, and no one should really be tryin on their own. Definately having a support system is helpful. First off, make sure that you make healthy choices. Don't buy into fad dieting or excercising routines. Weight Watchers is a great program, if you can afford it I would suggest starting there and starting to make healthier life style choices. Another thing is to watch out for the week or so that you don't lose weight. Don't get discouraged.
Avatar f tn Take a before picture to be your guide. Try to have a gym buddy to have company on your workout and be motivated.
Avatar f tn I am almost 36 weeks and I have been working out the whole time. I did a very vigorous workout just today. It has only been in the last 2 weeks or so that I have cut my workouts down to 4 a week instead of 6 a week. Like the others have said just listen to your body. Some days my body just says no so I just pick it back up the next day. I truly believe that working out this whole time has made pregnancy so much easier.
Avatar f tn I do cardio kickboxung twice a week followed by body sculpting that involves light weights (8-10lb weights) that's on tuesday and Thursdays. Wednesdays I usually take my dogs for long walks. I'm a hair dresser so the other days I'm working and am too exhausted and sore to do anything else as of right now. Keep exercising it's good for both of you.
Avatar f tn m going tonight to pick it up and hopes for Staurday to be my first workout! I chose a gym that is close to my trainstation that I get out of from work (so I would be more inclined into going after work) and also this gym is good because it's well over 20 blocks from house. I plan to walk going and coming home so that will burn more calories too! I'm so excited!!!!
Avatar m tn There are many routines that will work, most likely, not just one. If you use a gym weight machines have one benefit, in that they are calibrated to give you proper technique and show you right on the machine usually what muscles they're working. If you want to do free weights, can you afford a couple of sessions with a personal trainer? Or just watch the folks with the best definition where you're looking for it and ask them their routines.
17239077 tn?1454875124 Of each hour, you may be stretching for 15 or 20 minutes which does not burn as many calories as one hour of walking and running. Fine tuning your exercise program maximizes your time in the gym or on the treadmill so you can burn plenty of calories and see the results as a downward drift toward a smaller number on the scale. I don't know if you like stretching before you do an exercise. I don't stretch I use a light weight to warm the muscle being worked on.
Avatar n tn This is a substance abuse forum so not really the right forum for your question. The best way to get a good physique is by diet and exercise. You don't have to go to the gym to do this. There are plenty of different exercises you can do at home. If you don't already you need to start jogging a few miles 3 to 5 times a week. Also eat healthy, well balanced meals that are low in fat and high in protein. Stay away from soda and junk food.
Avatar n tn Yeah it good but It will work better if you workout 4 days a week even if you can just do 2 days at the try then try a workout DVD at home or walk for 30 to 45 min
