Avatar f tn There was one test I did in which there were the words, red, black, blue, green. On page 1, I just had to read the words. I didn't miss any words however; I was very slow in reading them. On page 2, each word was printed in a different color and I had to state what color in which the word was written. Again, I didn't miss any of the words but, I was very slow. On page 3, I had to read the color in which the word was written.

Avatar f tn In recent years (past 5) I have been suffering from widespread muscular pain, chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, dizzines, ringing in my ears, eye pain, occasional numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, hot flashes, memory loss, and word recall difficulty. I had my tsh checked several months and had a low tsh with normal t3 and t4. It was re-checked and they were all normal. I insisted on having it checked again due to recent extreme fatigue,so tired it hurts...
Avatar f tn Over the last 6 months, I have been forgetting simple words. I know this happens to everyone now and again but it is noticeable increasing for me and my husband has commented on it. As an example during a discussion with my husband, instead of using the word "bury him" I said "put him down" which I then explained "as put him down in a hole in the ground". My normal memory and mental functions don't seem to be impaired at all.

I was an English major in University so this is terribly frustrating for me but I am literally at a loss for words when I am trying to explain something or even just in conversation. I know the word I want to use but it just won't come to me. Sometimes I may think of it later. I have chronic pain and very high anxiety.

There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. Avatar f tn It's not uncommon so please don't feel you are alone. I do things all the time to keep my mind going. Often times and I went though this and go through periods where I don't feel up to do much at all. I felt my fibro fog was getting worse. My daughter commented that I was always so curious, reading and wanting to learn. I had to start stimulating myself again. I love to read, I always try to keep 1-3 books going.

The medication (methimazole) is helping my thyroidism but doesn't seem to be doing anything to restrore my memory and concentration. I used to study for an exam and be able to memorize 3 to 4 pages word for word in an hour. Now I can't even focus long enough to study for an hour because my attention span is gone.
