Wisdom teeth surgery infection

Common Questions and Answers about Wisdom teeth surgery infection

teeth

Avatar f tn Definitely see about having your wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon as opposed to a general dentist. Chances are with a general dentist, the most you would receive as far as sedation would be gas, although some dentists are now using what they call "sedation dentistry" where you take an oral medication about an hour before your appointment to help relax you.
Avatar m tn I was a dental asst. Wisdom teeth themselves will not kill you, nor the surgery to remove them. a lot of times they are very hard to keep clean and will decay fast. It is very rare but it can cause problems especially when you talk about abscess. He is not in pain now due to the penicillin he took but it will return. If the teeth are fully erupted it would seem to be simple extractions, verses surgical extractions.
Avatar m tn I want to know why is it necessary to remove wisdom teeth? What are positives except that removing wisdom teeth will not affect other teeth lining and may prevent chances of infection around wisdom teeth? What are negative sides? I am tired of this procedure or that procedure and going to here and there, and now this. I don’t want to complain but I am already struggling with poor general health, stress, anxiety and insomnia and my GP is no help. and I see a psychiatrist, who suggests meds.
Avatar n tn Went to a new dentist, who seemed shocked that I had three wisdom teeth still in my mouth. Said I should get these out to avoid future problems. Is it necessary to take these out NOW? They are not causing any discomfort.
Avatar f tn The only thing they can do it a routine check up and maybe clean your teeth. I need my wisdom teeth out as well but I gotta wait until Jan.
Avatar m tn Call it an erupting wisdom tooth from the back edge of the gums inline with the teeth. First dentist said that they'd need to do surgery including cutting to fix it urgent which a number of online people make similar statements. The second dentist, a New Jersey Unversity and Dental School graduate, didn't even mention surgery although she needs to take better care of her teeth and take a special rinse.

Avatar f tn I had my two bottom wisdom teeth removed by general surgery 4 days ago. They were coming in sideways and impacted. The crown of both teeth were under the tooth in front. Before removal I had many small infections on both sides over a few months. There wasn't a lot of bleeding after the surgery and I seemed to recover pretty fast at first.  I have felt sick in my stomach almost constantly since returning home from the hospital and I have a fever (unsure of temperature) and chills.
Avatar f tn I recently discovered that I have two infected wisdom teeth. I am having surgery tomorrow to get them extracted, however I am scared that the wisdom teeth may not be the cause of the daily migraines I have been enduring. Is it possible for wisdom teeth to cause that much pain? Also, is it normal for an oral surgeon to extract a wisdom tooth while infected without antibiotic treatment first? What are the complications and/or possibilities of this?
Avatar m tn My daughter had her wisdom teeth out three weeks ago. She seemed to do quite well til this past weekend. She began having some pain where one of the lower wisdom teeth was removed. She had to leave for college on Sunday and it didn't seem any worse than Sat. But, by Sunday night when she arrived at school, her face had swollen up and she was having puss drain from her gum. She called her oral surgeon this morning.
Avatar f tn ve talked to numerous healthcare professionals and all of them have said that infection in my wisdom teeth can cause gastrointestinal infections and problems until they are extracted and the infections taken care of. It has put a huge amount of stress on my relationship with my fiancé. In the midst of all of the doctors appointments I was refused treatment because the doctor said he didn't want to help me anymore. Any advice about my situation would be greatly appreciated!
1550634 tn?1296568028 The pressure feeling may be coming from the movement of the teeth. Its normal to have some pain or discomfort from your wisdom teeth as they come out. Try some over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol or Motrin (whatever you would take for headaches that's safe for you) and see if that helps. I took my 4 wisdom teeth out with an oral surgeon and I was put asleep. Didn't remember a thing.
Avatar f tn Also, keep in mind that they also need to put you on antibiotics for a week to prevent an infection, so defintely try to deal with the pain a little more. I was in alot of pain with my wisdom tooth with my second daughter and I was 16 weeks pregnant, and the dentist told me to wait. Just rinse with warm water and salt, and if the pain gets worse just take Tylenol. The best part is that you don't have that much longer to go. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn blood poisoning, bruxism, TMJ injury, teeth infection, EMF exposure. My guess is that you have jaw bone infection after wisdom teeth pull out. I have impacted and damaged canine tooth and TMJ injury made 25 years ago. Doctors in general do not know what causes tinnitus. In my opinion it is a symptom of something else. Also open jaw and close and check if they are making cracking noise.

Avatar f tn I was thinking about getting my wisdom teeth pulled should I wait until after the baby is here or now since I'm so early into my pregnancy

Avatar f tn My first born i had two cavaties, which i got fixed after she born. For this one, all 4 of my wisdom teeth are coming out and hurt. The dentist wants to remove them. Advise? Experience??
1025061 tn?1252454030 Wisdom teeth can be painful while erupting through the gum, but unless they are impacted, there is no reason to have them removed. Your report shows your wisdom teeth are in an excellent position, which means they can erupt and cause you no problems. I have all of mine. I have never heard of itching with erupting wisdom teeth. Your wisdom teeth are not postioned in a way to affect your dental health, I would leave them alone.
Avatar n tn the symptoms are teeth hurt, vomiting, mucsles hurt in stomach it has been going and going for a week and a half and i know my wisdom teeth should have been taken out about 5 yrs ago. and when i brush my teeth it is a reddish brown color.

Avatar m tn I got my wisdom teeth on July 31st, and the socket hasn't filled in as of yet. About 2 weeks post surgery I made out with a girl at a party and I was wondering if my open tooth socket would qualify as an open wound for potential HIV or STD infection. Or if even dry socket wold provide this kind of risk? I apologize of this is a stupid question. The thought crept into my mind and has been haunting me since.
Avatar f tn I'm 15 weeks and my wisdom teeth is killing me.I don't want to risk getting it taking out and I don't want to take pills. Are there any numbing creams?
