Avatar f tn The only thing they can do it a routine check up and maybe clean your teeth. I need my wisdom teeth out as well but I gotta wait until Jan.
Avatar f tn I have a huge cavity in my bottom wisdom tooth and decay in the top wisdom tooth on the same side (left) it's so painful. I'm terrified ofvttrvremoval pain. But it can't get much worse than it already is...right?
Avatar n tn I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and everything went to plan. I had pain for about 1 and a half weeks. Then all my pain went away and i slowy used my jaw more, and started doing my regular day to day activities. Then suddenly about 4 weeks after the surgery i have had extreme pain on my lower right side of my jaw. It just started back up, out of no where. I didnt hit it, or accidentaly chew something hard. Also when i was recovering after the surgery my lower right side took the longest to recover.
Avatar m tn I was a dental asst. Wisdom teeth themselves will not kill you, nor the surgery to remove them. a lot of times they are very hard to keep clean and will decay fast. It is very rare but it can cause problems especially when you talk about abscess. He is not in pain now due to the penicillin he took but it will return. If the teeth are fully erupted it would seem to be simple extractions, verses surgical extractions.
Avatar f tn Definitely see about having your wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon as opposed to a general dentist. Chances are with a general dentist, the most you would receive as far as sedation would be gas, although some dentists are now using what they call "sedation dentistry" where you take an oral medication about an hour before your appointment to help relax you.
Avatar f tn In January 2010, over 7 months ago I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted. Aside from the usual post op pain, swelling etc the healing process seemed finished within 2 weeks. However jaw stiffness and some pain persisted in my lower left jaw. I put this down to the tooth in this area being impacted. 3 months after the surgery I could still barely open my mouth wide enough to yawn without it feeling incredibly stiff and sore and so returned to the surgeon.
398038 tn?1247857003 As luck would have it, my fertile window this next cycle should fall around the same time my DH is scheduled to have his wisdom teeth out. Since his are impacted, he has to go to an oral surgeon and be put under anesthesia for a short time. This just makes me wonder, does anyone know if this will have any effect on his little swimmers? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Have a good weekend everyone, and best wishes to you all!
4518471 tn?1355798857 So I had my wisdom teeth just over a week and I am still in pain not as much when I first got them taken out and this pass friday I called the nurse and she said to stop taking the strong pain killers "hydro" and have been really like feeling sick but did not have a cold or anything just felt bad.
Avatar f tn I recently discovered that I have two infected wisdom teeth. I am having surgery tomorrow to get them extracted, however I am scared that the wisdom teeth may not be the cause of the daily migraines I have been enduring. Is it possible for wisdom teeth to cause that much pain? Also, is it normal for an oral surgeon to extract a wisdom tooth while infected without antibiotic treatment first? What are the complications and/or possibilities of this?
Avatar f tn I may have to get one of my wisdom teeth out after baby is born (it's extremely crooked and is affecting my bite again) but my dentist wants to wait until afterward because of the risk and pain meds and whatnot. Unless it's an emergency, they want me to wait. But if it is causing severe pain, it may be better to get it taken care of now...personally I would wait, but I would see what your doc says about it. I've had 3 teeth pulled, and 2 of them I developed a dry socket.
1025061 tn?1252454030 Wisdom teeth can be painful while erupting through the gum, but unless they are impacted, there is no reason to have them removed. Your report shows your wisdom teeth are in an excellent position, which means they can erupt and cause you no problems. I have all of mine. I have never heard of itching with erupting wisdom teeth. Your wisdom teeth are not postioned in a way to affect your dental health, I would leave them alone.
Avatar n tn It has been more than 2 months and I still feel awful? I am terrified to have the wisdom tooth surgery. Any chance my pains are related? I still have sensitivity in the root canal tooth, which my dentist told me was not possible. Ugh. Am I too old for surgery?

Avatar m tn Everything went good and I was feeling really good and back to my old self after about a week. 4 days ago I accidentally bit down on a piece of food in the spot where my left wisdom teeth were removed and it hurt bad. Yesterday I started to get this electric shock feeling in he left side of my tongue whenever I eat on the left side of my mouth. It feels like when you have a filling and you chew on aluminum foil and you get that small shock.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have just had 2 wisdom teeth removed 4 days ago. One of them had been infected requiring 2 courses of antibiotics and I'm on my third course now after the extraction. My concern now is with my tongue, today I noticed a red circle near the tip where the "buds" look slightly inflamed and a whitish ring around it. I was given some medicated mouthwash to use. It isn't painful I'm just concerned why it would suddenly appear.
Avatar m tn I want to know why is it necessary to remove wisdom teeth? What are positives except that removing wisdom teeth will not affect other teeth lining and may prevent chances of infection around wisdom teeth? What are negative sides? I am tired of this procedure or that procedure and going to here and there, and now this. I don’t want to complain but I am already struggling with poor general health, stress, anxiety and insomnia and my GP is no help.
Avatar n tn Went to a new dentist, who seemed shocked that I had three wisdom teeth still in my mouth. Said I should get these out to avoid future problems. Is it necessary to take these out NOW? They are not causing any discomfort.
