I just checked the prescribing information of Lexapro and apparently it is actually not a good idea to take any sort of NSAID at the same time as Lexapro... so, if you're taking ibuprofen it is probably a good idea to not mix the lexapro and ibuprofen and I wouldn't suggest getting a prescription NSAID after all. Usually the prescribing information says something about when side-effects tend to go away... but, I couldn't find it. But...

I too have noticed a pretty high increase in blood pressure with the increased dosage from 10 to 20 mg. Unusual for me, but it's the only thing I can attribute it to. I am also really like the benefits of Lexapro, and would hate to switch......again. I am checking with my GP and Psychiatrist today just to make sure. I'd watch it, take it again (or buy a cuff) and let your doctor know if you don't see a change.

Hi, I am too experiences horrific effects from coming off 20mg Lexapro. But I can't take all the side effects anymore. I wish I knew what to do to stop the vertigo/dizziness but the only thing I can find on internet (but havent' tried yet) is a motion sickness tablet that contains a vestibular suppressant. Only thing I wanted to mention is that a friend/nutritionist has suggested I take SamE as an alternative to the Lexapro.

However the tremors are still there as well as extreme sweating, and muscle tightness. (I have been on this dose for approximately 2 weeks.

So to answer your question i was on 5mg and it helped fine, but the side effects do go away, and the other comment is true about your body getting used to everything in a 4-6 week span.

Hi, I have very very reluctantly gone on a low dose of Paxil 5mg per day due to anxiety, panic and agoraphobia. Please try and give it more time. I took lexapro and had bad side effects too in the beginning. I was so ready to stop taking it. Then, the side effects lessened and lessened and finally went away completely by the second week. You've already invested one week, please try and give it another week to see if the side effects go away. And as Venora said, please talk to your doctor first. It also took four weeks for me to feel the medication kick in, but I am doing fabulous with it now.
