There is a test that can be used to see if the mouse carries hantavirus. I believe it's called a PCR test which uses blood, saliva, urine or feces. Unlike rabies which calls for the animal to be euthanized in order to check brain tissue, this test can be done without sacrificing the mouse.
Mice can carry the virus and not show symptoms. Typically people develop flu-like symptoms within 1 - 6 weeks after exposure.
OMG LMAO!!! Im alternately laughing and SHIVERING here!! man they are UGLY LOL Opossums just look so damn evil LOL I cant believe you touched them!!! They actually look pretty big to me, i was thinking much smaller than that. Do some research and try to find out about how old they are. I do know that opossums are partial marsupials and these look way too big to still be carried around in their mother's pouch, nursing.
I work at a vet clinic, I am a vet tech student, and today someone handed in a baby magpie. I am guessing it's a fledgling around 3 weeks old, it can flap its wings but not fly. I have looked it over and couldn't find any fractures nor signs of internal damage, although it has a wound on its head and seems pretty concussed. It however seems alert of its surroundings, but prefers to just lie down.

Can withdrawals from lortab cause you to miss a cycle for 2 months? Has anyone else experienced this as a side effect of detox and relapse?
I was in rehab for the first time in March. Was only there for 2 weeks because I found out I was pregnant about a week into treatment. They tested me when I got there but the results didn't come back until 7 days into treatment. I was already out of detox. So I chose to stay clean and not get back on anything. They wanted to put me back on methadone which is what they used to wean me off the oxy contin.
Watching Heidi Fleiss was really sad.. I saw her on celebrity rehab where she retreated to the desert with a bunch of parrots! It was so sad bc you could see how much pain she was in.

I work with wildlife animals at a rehabilitation center . Stopped at five months till after my babys born but i did get scratched and bitten a couple times while i was already pregnant. Make sure u clean it with peroxide . I also would use an iodine solution . But i literally worked with like squirrels and stuff so im sure you'll be okay.
After my husband was out of the inpatient rehab center he was sent to a HealthSouth Out Patient center. They were wonderful. They worked with my husband three days a week (speech, occupational and physical) and he has improved considerably. The outpatient therapy lasted about 2 months and now my husband is basically doing everything himself. Only thing I have to do is remind him to take his pills.

My in-laws treated us to a day at the raptor center in BC last summer where we got to hold, catch and release, and feed hawks and owls. Coolest day of my life!

Rehab people are now very pessimistic regarding his recovery, but he had been making progress before. We are concerned that they let him get dehydrated in the Rehab center and this has also caused some kidney issues as of today.
Has anyone had any experience with this type situation? Did clots resolve on their own?
Should we look at moving my dad to another hospital that deals more with stroke complications?
Should we be upset that he got dehydrated in rehab center?
