Avatar n tn d injured my arm, and listened to my Chest (I have asthama) and prescribed me Prednisolone for a chest infection. The doctor was convinced this was not heart related. I was reluctant to take the drug...and the same symptomns came and went. August 2017 - I helped my parents with some heavy bags into the house, that evening I had a very sharp pain in my chest. This is when I took the Prednisolone.

Avatar n tn I got the same problem. My doc also advised me to take isocort prednisolone methylcobalamine inj and my usual hypothyroid med. My ringing started 3 weeks back and now I feel somewhat better but not completely cure. I hope you will share your improvement also.
Avatar f tn I have had one round of oral prednisolone and one prednisolone injection. They reduced the swelling a bit, but did not eliminate the problem. I refused to take methotrexate because I cannot accept the possible side effects. I am also refusing more prednisolone because of side effects and because it does not work completely. My doctor is trying me on doxycycline just in case this is caused by a corynebacterium. I am seriously considering mastectomy.
Avatar m tn I think it's important I add that if your dog is receiving prednisolone as a matter of some urgency - such as certain life-threatening illnesses - then vaccination (annual boosters, etc) would not normally be given. Prednisolone suppresses the bone-marrow from producing white blood cells, which means there could be a severe and potentially fatal reaction to annual booster vaccines.

Avatar n tn I have been under good control until I was recently diagnosed with an eye conditon called central serous retinopathy. I was told by the retinal specialist that I can take no form of prednisone unless it is a life threatening issue because it could worsen the eye condition. 907515 tn?1251727972 You might post it in the autoimmune community too. You mention that you do not like taking the steroids. Have you tried one of the other medications used to treat behcets?
Avatar n tn Not knowing what dose you were on and just assuming you were started on prednisolone either Iv or pill form in the hospital until the time it was discontinued without taper, I would put my worry out of my misery by seeing another doctor. Especially, since you described "horrible withdrawal symptoms" (again, not knowing what they are) besides the anxiety you are experiencing, which is also concerning.
Avatar f tn I'm going to check out Chewy for the Dasuquin, and will call the vet tomorrow about prednisolone. Our other cat was on it for years for IBD, I can't see why it couldn't be tried for this one, even if it was just for a short while.
Avatar f tn ve been taking 5mg prednisone in the morning and 5mg Cortef at noon. Normally I have cortisol levels done in the AM without any meds; but last time, I took my labs after taking prednisone. I took 5mg prednisone at 6 am and my 9am serum cortisol was 1.7 ug/dL. This is much lower than my usual a.m. cortisol (5-7ug/dL). I did some research and an endocrinology textbook (thank you Google books!
665797 tn?1225283365 But sometimes, to treat the severe headaches, the only way left for the doctor is to advise the patient to continue using the same, and the patient can land up in such situations. I am sure he is now under the care of an internist or endocrinologist, who will give you the best advice. Cluster Headache: Hope he has been worked up by an ENT specialist also to rule out 'look-alike' illnesses.

Avatar f tn ve been told to go on prednisolone for 3 months or so in order to bring down my slightly elevated liver enzymes. I am worried that the prednisolone might react with the oroxine therapy which I am taking daily for my Hashimotos hypothyroidism. The amount of prednisolone is 25mg per day for 1 week, then 10 mg per day for 2 weeks, then 7.5mg per day for 4 weeks, then 5 mg per day until i see the doctor in 3 months time.
