I tested positive for C Difficile Culture and negative for Cytotoxin B Production. I was prescribed Cipro 500mg 2x for 3 days. I was also instructed to finish Metronidazole 500mg 3x a day that was previously prescribed for suspected parasite. I tested negative for a parasite.
I took z pack and Cipro one month ago. I believe one or both of these antibiotics could be a contributing factor in getting c diff.
Everyday all day i wear a panty liner because i cant take the wetness on my panties. I have no idea why this wont go away. An I woke up this morning and it itched really bad down there. I'm all swollen up and red, it even hurts to walk.. Should i switch my soap maybe? I've tried douching, and also tried these "smell good bullets" that you put up there and they dissolve. I don't know what else to do..please someone help...
I have a dog with IBD and he takes a compounded steroid called Budesonide everyday plus an enzyme supplement called Prozyme and stays on a strict diet of a fish and pot dry kibble. He still flares up every few months with bloody diarrhea which then we start up sulfasalazine 3 times a day which usually calms things down within a few days and after a week or 2 he's back on track.
The doctor told me I had bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection I think that's why she prescribed metronidazole and she also prescribed a cream (miconazole nitrate) I just wasn't sure if metronidazole was ok to take while pregnant. THANKS GIRLS!
My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

My problem started 6 months ago when I was on an antibiotic (metronidazole) for 1 week.
The antibiotic did its job but caused this condition called "hairy tongue" as a side effect that seems permanent. My tongue looks like it has a white coating of thousands of little elongate papillae. Almost like my once healthy pink tonge now has a 1970's shag-carpet growing on it. These little papillae act like a sponge to trap all sorts of bacteria and food particles.
We have eight Chihuahuas and a Pug. All nine have had stubborn issues with vomiting food for the past few months.
Age range 1-3. Weight range 3.5-12 lbs. None are related. They have a fenced in yard (country), cages in the kitchen. They have no exposure to other dogs.
Six months ago Lucy began vomiting her food several hours after eating. A few gags, up would come undigested food. Then George did the same. Lucy stopped but then the next day Gracie started, etc.
In all honesty, it was food!!!Normally, poop is a waste product, but in a sick dog with a compromised digestive system, the waste product is not waste, but actual food that was not processed...Did that make sense?

We bought the pug back to home that evening with a schedule to take him to a vet hospital next day for complete checkup which is located at a distance of one hour and since it opens in morning. This particular fourth night/early morning at 1 am I checked my pug to check if he is ok and noticed that he urinated (wetted himself) and was almost labouring for breathing. Hi, i traveled from New York to China two days ago. Afterwards, I've been diagnosed with bacterial infection in my stomach after i went to the hospital to check out stomach pains. Yesterday night i had a fever with about 37.8 Celsius and right now my chest hurts and the inside feels like it itches. What should I do? Well, this medication is the gold standard for bacterial vaginosis. Is this what you are taking it for? BV can be passed sexually. You can give your partner BV that they then pass back to you or be reinfected through unprotected sex. BV is hard to get rid of in general let alone if you are exposing yourself to it over and over. Often, when an infection won't clear, the sex partner of someone with it is also treated with flagyl. So, using a condom would be smart in this instance.
You can take the medication with or without food. I was going to suggest hat you take it with milk but you cannot take it with milk or other dairy products, unless your doctor has told you to. Dairy products can make it harder for your body to absorb the medicine. According to the literature a select few brands of doxycycline may not have restrictions about taking them with dairy products. Any way I would be sure and take the meds with your meals as this should help ease the tummy upset.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
We did this and the results were BUN 7 and CREA 1.6. He then said to take him off the Kidney food and come back in 3 months. About a month and half after we noticed he was't himself he had diarrhea vomiting and lethargic. They did blood work again and the results were BUN 58 and CREA 2.9. This time the vet I normally deal with was not there that day it was his partner and he said he would have never taken him off the KD diet to begin with.
The vet has now said to keep her on all of the meds except Galliprant and to come in for an anti-nausea as her belly might be upset from the antibiotic causing her to not want to eat. Has anyone had any experience with Galliprant and/or Metronidazole? Taking them at the same time?
I was diagnosed with C. diff. After my second hospital stay, I was sent home with Metronidazole 500MG tablets to take with food 3X a day. I am on my 8th day of taking this, and still have diarrhea with a loss of appetite. When will the diarrhea clear up? After the Flagyl treatment is completed? Should I be taking a probiotic supplement along with the Flagyl? I have no other symptoms other than the diarrhea/bloating.
Uh, if you have the typical fungal infection in that area, ringworm, you use a cream. It's much less stressful on your system with fewer systemic side effects to use it that way. Taking it orally is much stronger, but has a lot of side effects, and this way it goes directly where your problem is. Make sure you use it as long as recommended, and don't be surprised if it comes back, as this treatment often doesn't get all the eggs. Good luck with it.
