Avatar n tn My 3rd adult cat only weighs about 6 pounds, because she is a small breed, The all have had food continuously available since we had them as kittens or very young adults and have maintained their current weight for all of their adult lives. My oldest adult cat is 14 and my youngest adult cat is 10.
Avatar m tn He sometimes will throw up after eating his food if he doesnt chew it enough. Any way tonight I came home from work and he had throw at least 4 diff. times in diff spots. It is brown and liquid like and doesnt seem to have food mixed in with it. Also he usually hops in bed with me but has been sitting by the door to go outside which is unusual. I have also noticed a lump or pouch type thing in his lower abdomen which I made an apt. for at the vet to have checked.
Avatar f tn s doing before he vomits? My previous cat had a big problem with eating too fast as well as things she shouldn't be eating. Try to encourage your cat to drink a little more. He may just have an upset stomach.
203342 tn?1328737207 This has been going on for a long time. Every time I've taken her to the vet I've mentioned it. There's a million reasons why she could be throwing up, I'm told. She could just have a nervous stomach, eating too fast, isn't tolerating food well or it could be a medical reason. They ran all kinds of expensive tests on her before doing her surgery a couple of months ago and everything came back fine, including diabetes, kidneys looked fine, etc.
Avatar m tn Other than throwing up, she acts normally, she is eating and drinking normally. The throw up is a brown liquid and she usually throws up during the night as we find it when we get up in the mornings. There is no smell to the vomit. Is this something serious?
Avatar n tn My cat throws up occasionally too. When I brought this up with the vet about 2 years ago she said my cat was probably eating too fast. Said she could run a lot of tests and probably not have a definite answer as to why she was doing it. So I slowed her down and it seemed to help but she would still occasionally do it. Every 2 - 3 weeks or so. However now she is doing it but not throwing any food up , just liquid.
Avatar n tn When people feel occasionally sick after eating, they may throw up or try to, to rid their body of the harmful food. It's not forceful, but more like a "get me to the bathroom or I'll spew all over you." If you're doing it all the time, and you can control when you throw it up (like you can make it to the bathroom and stick your finger down your throat to make yourself throw it up) then it's something deeper. It could be in your head. It could be an eating disorder.
Avatar f tn I had a gastric emptying study, a HIDA scan, upper endoscopy, CAT scan, blood tests, food elimination diets, etc. After my gallbladder was removed, I had troubles eating certain things, but it wasn't too awful for a while. Starting a few months ago, though, my body began projectile vomiting everything again. I know when I am about to throw up, my stomach burns and I feel like it needs to happen, and when I throw up, the food seems to be encased in a mucus-type sac almost.
596105 tn?1314580333 Aww thank you so much for telling me this, cuz i was worried....I went out for a couple of hours and when i came back he seemed absolutely fine....I just fed him, i'll see how that goes. Oh and another thing is that lately i've been changing his diet....could that be it too???
Avatar f tn I took my cat to the vet because she had stopped eating due to not be able to hold her food down. They did and an xray and found no obstructions. They said her stomach lining was swollen from her constant vomiting. The vet said that when cats throw up their stomach lining swell and it keeps swelling every time they puke and consequently they continue to puke when food hits their stomach. So they gave her anti nausea meds and re- hydrated her, the problem is that was only a temporary fix.
Avatar f tn My 16 yrs old cat eats catnip then rolls around in it.. Is it bad for them to eat catnip?
Avatar f tn t get too hungry, otherwise she wolfs her food and vomits. Does your girl tend to do this more in the morning after not eating all night?
Avatar n tn so yesterday i was eating a bowl of top ramen chicken flavor soup and i was coughing more then usual that day. and about 20 minutes after eating the soup i continue to cough and eventually throw up. i through up all the soup along with this black liquid. ive had no stomach pains or any other symptoms. Whats going on? -my friends told me that i should see a doctor because i may have thrown up blood that was sitting in my stomach for a while.
Avatar f tn My little long haired White Kitty, would also throw up 3 or 4 times a week, and it did not seem to matter what food was being fed. I have her 2 sisters now and only 1 throws up about once a month but after having White Kitty checked, it was hairballs and she was put on a hairball control food. Hairball control food adds fiber to the cats diet and then the food/hair does not stay trapped in the intestine. It is the best thing I have ever tried. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn All summer my cat has been throwing up stomach liquids randomly. Seems to be no cause. I took her to the vet and spent $200 on tests and x rays and what not and they had no answers. Recently it's gotten worse. She has not eaten since Saturday evening and it is now Monday afternoon. She keeps begging for food, but when I put food in front of her, she won't eat it and if she does eat it, she throws it back up. I bought sensitive digestive system food and that hasn't worked.
1615999 tn?1307461942 My 4 year old cousin constantly makes himself throw up after he eats a meal. He's being doing this since he was around 18 months old. Recently, he has lost a lot of weight because he doesn't like to eat much. He's been to the GP, and there isn't anything physically wrong with him. He just eats very little, then throws up whatever he eats. He's also very spoilt, and his mom doesn't feed him meals. Is this just a behavioural problem? Please help.
Avatar f tn Good evening! My 5 month old kitten got neutered on Weds 2/26/20 & I had to go back Friday 2/28 because the tattoo site was gashed open, not just scraped. I took him back in, they cleaned the area & put in a staple & gave him a shot of antibiotics. He also was diagnosed with mild conjunctivitis and was given Erithromycin ointment to put in his eyes 2 times a day. He seems fine, playing, running around & eating. Yesterday 3/1 I noticed he had thrown up.
