Why does my blood sugar drop when exercising

Common Questions and Answers about Why does my blood sugar drop when exercising

blood-sugar

Avatar m tn blood sugar 137 before exercising. After 15 minutes light-to-moderate exercise, it was 85. This happens all the time, dropping from wherever it is, to the 70-80 range. One time I felt particularly shaky and the reading was 65. What's worse is that I am getting these drops from even minimal physical activity. As an example: blood sugar 110, after walking at a slow pace (strolling) for a mere 10 minutes, I start to feel a little shaky and my sugar is 78.
Avatar f tn my husband was 2yrs post liver transplant, that is the one reason why he is also now suffering from monitor blood sugar problem. my question now is about fluctition of his blood glucose, we have a kit monitoring it before and after meal, but there was time when we check it is high then after just a minute it drop down, we are really worried why is this happening? hoping that anyone could help!
Avatar f tn Are you eating enough before you exercise as your blood sugar can drop very fast when exercising and you can become hypoglycemic and have fast heart rhythm. I suggest not exercising on an empty stomach. A good check up by your doctor is important too before beginning any exercise program.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I'm a type 2 diabetic, 69 yr old ,man, and for years I have been able to keep my daily blood sugar/A1C well with normal range. This was when I was working - now that I'm retired, and because I became sedentary my A1C rose from 6 to 7.2 and my daily morning readings jumped to average 150 ml. Now I do daily treadmill walking exercises plus some weight training in the gym and find that after 1.5 hour of exercising my sugar goes up 50-80 points.
646318 tn?1261181494 My blood pressure has always been low or normal (and high blood pressure runs in my family). My blood sugar, however, has been ridiculous. I have really annoying hypoglycemia and problems with candida because of it. I am a healthy eater, I exercise and I am not overweight. I also don't eat breads or pastas, so its not like I load up on carbs every day. I am hoping after treatment this will get better.
Avatar f tn My blood sugar is 78, feeling cold and jittery and wondering if that is too high of a number to be causing it. Since last Thursday I have been unable to eat much, and what I do eat has been immediately removed (diarrhea). I was diabetic in my last pregnancy and still needing to lose weight so I have been checking my sugars just to see if maybe that is why I feeling so low right now. Thanks for the help.
Avatar f tn hi, I always have problems with my blood sugar level. I m using humulin. even though I eat a normal portion of meal, my blood sugar goes up after each meal. but it goes down to normal level after 4-5 hours. it makes me confused because I cant inject more because I will get low, what should I do?
1058898 tn?1275675151 my labs were coming back as below 70. so this whole time when i started to feal hypo when my blood sugar was in the 90, it was really in the 70 and below. the endo said i have low sugars and i have to see a dietitian tomorrow to learn how to keep my sugars up. she didnt tell me why my sugars are dropping low at all. all she said is that its probably my diet. how does your diet make you have low sugars?
Avatar f tn also my good cholesterol levels are low. My fasting blood sugars range from 140 to 163. 2 hours after eating my blood sugar levels are 183-202. I have never been diagnosed as being a diabetic, but a few years ago my doctor said I was pre-diabetic. So with the numbers that I am getting now, does this mean I am going to inevitably get diabetes? Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn If I monitor my blood sugar levels closely, my levels actually go up during and after exercise. I thought they were supposed to go down. Why is this happening?
246464 tn?1249452147 Thanks- I was referred to one "Specialist" who told me he did not believe in Hypoglycemia as it was nothing more than a 'trendy' complaint in the 1970's. He said my readings, the EMT's Readings- have all been false lows as there was no way my Blood sugar could have been 34.. He'd only believe it if I went to a hospital lab when it gets that low and have it done there.
Avatar n tn Why is it that my blood sugar is higher in the morning than it was prior to going to bed the night before? For example: At night it may read 115 (this is approx. 4 hours after dinner, and no snacking). THEN - first thing in the morning, before I've had anything to eat it reads 135. After having breakfast, right before lunch time it may be 85-90. Thanks for your feedback.
Avatar m tn t changed her eating or exercising routine when she started gaining weight. Her stomach gets very bloated, her face gets puffy, and her swell up Her menstrual cycle has been very irregular(she hasn't had it for 6 months, but doctor say she hasn't regulated...she has had it for nearly 6 years), she has very cold hands and feet and purple toes, and she gets very constipated.
Avatar f tn When i was pregnant with GD I would have readings at 215 then 2 mins later they would be 118. It made no sense to me or the doctors. So I gave up trying to do anything about it.
Avatar m tn So there isn't a high bloodpressure for exercising? My resting blood pressure averages about 135/80 fluctuates a lot higher and some lower. Can you give any more insight? Thank you and god less!
Avatar n tn I cut my Humalog and NPH doses in half and eliminated the use of Ultralente but I am still having the same problem. My blood sugar will go down 100-150 mg/dL or more within an hour of eating (even when eating carb-rich meals). No matter what I seem to do, this trend occurs. Are there any other individuals with this problem? What can be causing this. I would appreciate any help one can offer.
Avatar n tn To add to Super_sally888, eating foods that contain white sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup or refined carbohydrates can cause your sugar levels to spike and then suddenly drop as if you have hypoglycemia. This sudden drop in blood sugar levels is due to your pancreas releasing too much insulin to counteract the sudden high blood sugar levels that occurred from eating the aforementioned food types.
Avatar m tn My blood pressure is normally on the high side and I am on meds for this. When the temperature in the upper 80s or above and I play tennis my blood pressure drops to something like 90/50 and I feel weak. It comes back up when I rest. I am told that it should increase with exercise. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn t understand why this happened so sudden. I ate 2 slices of pizza and my blood sugar dropped after eating the pizza so there has to be something else wrong.
