Common Questions and Answers about Why do people sneeze in the sun

sneeze

7595610 tn?1397467772 I thought I was the only one who sneezed wen I went out into the sun. I don't sneeze so much in bright lights.
Avatar m tn If I feel a sneeze coming on, I will either look at the sun or a bright light in a room. I rarely sneeze in a low light situation. My doctor thinks I am nuts, as does my opthamologist. However, my Mom did this (but not my Dad) and both of my daughters do it too. My Mom says that her Mom did it as well. It's very strong reflex and completely uncontrollable. Does anybody else have this or know what it is about? I've always called it "light sneezing.
1017452 tn?1254904998 Everytime i go outside in the sun I sneeze 2 times. As soon as i set foot out. Only been like that since i started the taper and detox.
1415174 tn?1453243103 So for the next couple of months I realized if I stared at the sun by day, or at a bright light at night, just when the spots arrived, it would stop my migraine dead in its tracks. The important thing was to do this the minute I saw the spots/aura. If I was too late, the migraine would develop.
Avatar f tn I am 27 and have this problem too for years but it comes and goes and is really annoying and depressing for me. as I've known, this problem is most of the times psychological, as it's been for me, unless you feel that it happened IMMEDIATELY after a hit to your head. so after a hit or crash, if you sneezed and after a few days or weeks it stopped, it's still psychological and if you don't care or think about it, sneeze can return eventually.
2109901 tn?1344984276 It doesn't always happen to me, but once in awhile I do. That's why I wear liners!
471161 tn?1317190950 From what people are telling me in the Lupus Forum the sun makes you either break out in a rash or make a flare occur - meaning pain and fever and everything that goes with lupus. Thank God I haven't had that happen to me (they say some people are not photosensitive) because I feel so much better when I do spend a little time in the sun. Thank you for your help.
757137 tn?1347196453 Glad to have your ear. The problem with scientists, sometimes, is that they have tunnel vision. The obvious escapes them. Take vaccinations, for instance. They run a bunch of little tests and find that there is no connection between autism and vaccinations. Now they are happy they don't have to change their protocol, because like farmers, doctors resist change. But did you know that the vaccinations inflicted on a baby in its first year of life immunize them against 64 different ailments?
669241 tn?1236264344 Uh, because its Christmas........why do people color eggs and buy rabbits for Easter? Why do people ring in the New Year, or have turkey on Thanksgiving. Why do people put up flags for memorial day .......Every Holiday has a symbol..... Why do we take meds when we have a cold.......cause someone says that's what we are suppose to , so we do it.......just because............. Statistics.........I always wonder who "They" are..............
Avatar m tn Hi there & Welcome! Sneezing is one of the initial signs of acute withdrawal. (Yawning & watery eyes usually precede sneezing.) When you're on opiates they flood the body with histamines (that's why people scratch when they're high.) When they're withdrawn the body's natural histamine response is shut down & so you sneeze & tear a lot. It's completely normal to experience this in detox & the symptom diminishes over time.
Avatar m tn ve had friends who know me well comment that about 20 m inutes into being in the restaurant and eating that the sneezing begins. I think it has something to do with the air filtration system in the restaurant. IT'S NOT THE FOOD! I've dealt with this long enough to know that if I bring the same food home and drink the same amount of wine, nothing happens! It's our only little magical sneeze fest.
1155261 tn?1266686517 I thought I was the only one sneezing my head off! I would wake up in the middle of the night sneezing lol.
Avatar f tn usually when the sun is going down... maybe the change in temperature? Whatever, it just happens.
Avatar f tn [ So, what I am proposing is that people with the electrical type of PATM may cause something similar to the person on the other end of the phone, just as the sun causes people to sneeze. The sun itself does not "send down" a particle that makes the person sneeze, it is all electrical signals/waves.
495284 tn?1333894042 Finally an answer to why the sneezing.I still do it from time to time but in the beginning it drove me nuts not knowing why drove me even more nuts. Now it makes sense ,so again thankyou. Peace.
Avatar f tn Co-incidentally as the spots arrived, I also felt like sneezing, and what I normally do when I get the urge to sneeze, is look into a bright light, this helps the sneeze come quickly. So I naturally glanced at the sun for about 3 or 4 seconds. This made me sneeze, but what it also did is made my spots go away. So here I am waiting for my migraine to come but it never came. I thought this was weird as I would always get a migraine after the spots.

Avatar m tn I did SOC treatment which ended 2 years ago and I stayed out of the sun for the very reason you mention. In fact, I'm still somewhat sensitive to heat and the sun...makes my skin feel prickly. I believe it's the riba that causes sun/heat sensitivity.
7282682 tn?1397237735 Nonights, thank you for giving me a good laugh this early in the morning! I think you are correct about that. Sneezing just means your body is doing what it's supposed to be doing...getting rid of the crap and healing. It's a good thing, although annoying at times. I've always been a 'sneezer'. I have debilitating allergies to just about anything you could think of, so it's year round.
6384874 tn?1385429806 Hey there, this happens to me too when I sneeze. But the "stars" are also accompanied by severe pain in the back of my head and neck. The pain is so bad that it leads to tears. Because of this I avoid sneezing as much as possible (I haven't sneezed in over a year because of this).
Avatar m tn i cant help but wonder why the he; i sneeze 10 time a dy iam 10 days in frakes me ot i never sneeze than you Dominic
Avatar f tn Someone posted similar earlier yeah a few people do, I do at 11 Weeks and sneeze really loud too since being preg scares the **** out my oh. Achoooooo followed by.
Avatar f tn Ok so I do get reactions from everyone like the whole train station or even a ballroom filled with people. Imagine the nonstop coughs during a ballroom event as the odor keeps moving around when I'm stationary. The moment I make eye contact with anyone, they hold their nose or cough their lungs out. This is beyond my understanding. Is there something on my face that triggers it or brain waves? Mysterious. I haven't given up.
Avatar m tn i am starting to go crazy and now i ask people why are they coughing. i keep asking my dad 3rd day why people cough near me like why, nope he says "they have a cold". how can everyone have a cold.
1394262 tn?1369625192 Your core (or torso) is very involved in almost everything that you do, so when you cough or sneeze or even hiccough hard enough, you stomach muscles tense and react to the activity. It's probably going to feel like that for a bit, until you get used to it. I sneeze a lot, so in ths beginning I found it easier to bend over slightly while I sneezed or coughed.
